I went mainly for a new style and some help with my bangs. I had gotten my bangs cut by a different stylist at another salon and they weren't what I asked for, so I wanted some help from the salon I thought I could trust. First, when I got my hair washed I was expecting the full service, like a hair mask and hand massage, but for some reason I didn't get that. Second, I asked for a shag cut with lots of layers in the back and my baby bangs to be fixed and styled differently. What I got was uneven bangs and long layers. My stylist didn't know how to help me fix my bangs and repeatedly tried to style them, but I still left with my bangs sticking up and super choppy like my 4 year old sister cut my bangs. Instead of experimenting on my hair, I would've been much happier if my stylist told me she can't achieve the style I wanted. After, I was embarrassed so I just paid and left hiding my bangs. When I got home sobbing, my mom called the salon asking if I could get my service refunded. They called back saying that I could only get $20 back. They also mentioned that I was the one that came in with uneven bangs. We are very disappointed with how this salon manages these complaints because we at least expected them to offer to fix what was done to my bangs. I came to get my hair cut to boost my confidence, but I left feeling even worse than I did before. Me and my family will not be returning to this salon. And then obviously, they're a good enough high-quality spa and salon to be able to carry the Aveda line in the first place. I understand they're fairly selective. So I got in same day for a facial, same morning, which was great because I hate waiting. Worked out perfect for me. The facial was great. Excellent experience from start to finish. Staff were warm and welcoming. I picked up my favorite candle, some hand wash, and got a little voucher for some money off my next different treatment since I was a first-time customer, new customer. Parking is free if you're there for the salon. Otherwise, you have to pay behind the building. Really nice experience. Wes explained to me that natural curly hair should never have a point cut, but blunt. I had tried to share this twice with my last stylist. You know that feeling when you have the perfect haircut? It was a cold night and after color was applied, my hair was not dried, except for the very ends. So far, it was acceptable because I needed my hair done. Got to the front desk, they charged me, I assumed it was going to be the regular price. It was closing time, and everyone was in a hurry, so I handed her my credit card. When I got home and was able to go online with my screen reader to read the charge, I was shocked to see that Pam had added charges for services that were specifically not requested. I talked to Jeff and he told me he would remove the excessive charges and it wouldn't be a problem. However, I had an appointment yesterday and called Jeff before going in, he was extremely rude and told me he wasn't going to do anything about it. The prices we pay for highlights, styling, hair products, cut, color. It's crazy. Walking in, this was a very artsy type salon to me. When I learned a little more about the salon, I see why. They offer makeup and they even have a studio for photography. Everyone that worked there seemed very fashion forward. The staff was very nice. Christina did my hair cut, and her assistant did everything else. The avocado mango mask was heavenly. It felt so nourishing to my hair, and then they put this hair cap on you and stick you under a dryer only it lets out steam. It seriously felt like a facial for your hair. It was awesome, and my hair smelled so good after I was done. I wish I could have that done once a week! My haircut was fine, nothing special, but I had just wanted a good trim. It feels a bit short, but I'm sure my ends needed it. They have the coolest wash area I've ever seen. You lay on bed-like pad, no chair! It has a rest for the back of your knees. It's the most comfortable way to get your hair shampooed ever! I loved it! Oh, and the hair products are from the UK, because Christina said the American products have ingredients that aren't good for your hair. There was one she used called Jungle Fever. It smelled soooo good! They also have little snacks, and even serve wine and soft drinks. Great way to unwind while you are getting your hair done. All in all, a great experience. I liked this salon. It doesn't cater so much to me with my straight hair, but that doesn't mean you can't come here. I think I should bring my daughter next time, and get another avocado treatment. Heavenly! If you still want to try out a Deva cut, go for it. It may be for you. But I would recommend you be extremely clear about how much length your stylist is allowed to cut off. If you don't make yourself clear you could walk away 6 inches lighter. I did contact the salon immediately about the cut. I was crying before I even walked out the door. They did not charge me for services that day and had a manager come over and "fix" my cut. They also offered for me to come back in a couple months for them to keep trying to fix it, but since they butchered my hair so badly in the first place I would never trust them again. At the end of the day they still chopped off 6 inches of my hair and it did take me over a year to grow it back. Look at the photos. For any of you out there with long curly hair still reading this and searching for someone you can trust to cut your hair: message me.
