I was a long time client since my son was 8 years old. We used to go to the Summerling location, now Henderson the last 4 years. Even though every haircut wasn't great. We continued for the last 8 years to come here. Oddly, we were banned from coming with no explanation. We always pay, always tip largely, never an issue, or incident. I double checked every payment has gone through, so this isn't an issue with payment. My mom and I have mulled this over and the only thing was our last visit, I had my son run in for gel straight after the appointment, which gel is offered, because we had Easter Pictures. I can't imagine this being a reason to be banned, but these days you never know. I drove 20 minutes with my one year old & I arrived 7 minutes late to my son's first haircut appointment. They don't close till 6pm and we were there at 5:37pm the doors were locked and no one would even open up to even tell me they were closed. They just stood there looking at me and my son. I knocked on the door and they said that they have a 5 minute late policy. They had no other customers in the shop and they would not take my son, they offered an appointment for the next day but they had no other customers and they don't close till 6pm for a quick trim. Although the stylist who gave my son a haircut was so sweet, when going to check out with the lady at the front, we were told it was $35 for a shampoo, haircut, and blow dry. My son never had a shampoo and didn't need a blow dry, and we were advised that those were complimentary services included. Well, if they were complimentary, then why wasn't my son given a shampoo to begin with?...and he definitely didn't need a blow dry with his haircut style. They need to have better services offered, if I just go in for a haircut, then I should only be charged for a haircut! read more

Sharkey's is a fun place to bring little ones for a haircut! My daughter talked about coming here for months and enjoyed her first haircut here. The stylist was good with my daughter. She explained everything she was going to do so that she was comfortable with the process. We thought our package included a manicure, but first haircut doesn't include this. Our stylist was really nice about letting us add this on list minute since my daughter was really excited about it. The first haircut package was cute. It included a haircut, certificate, lollipop, a lock of hair, and a picture. The hair wash is optional depending on whether you think your child would enjoy it. They have fun vehicles for the kids to sit in and kids have a choice of what to watch during their haircut. My daughter was really excited about sitting in the Frozen Jeep for her cut. The manicure was just polish. They had a nice variety of color options and they were quick drying. There were dryers to help too. The atmosphere here on a Saturday morning was loud and chaotic which was expected. We chose a Saturday so that we could come as a family, but next time I'd come on a weekday. Please listen to the reviews that say these people do not know how to cut hair and that you're going to get a choppy unblended uneven haircut. My child sat still the whole entire time + we paid for the blow dry and did not get it. We decided to give this place a second try as the very first time for my son's very first haircut was also very bad, but I thought maybe it was just stylist or the fact that he was young & moving a lot. Please listen to everyone that says Tammy is completely awful I do not want to see anyone get fired however she does not need to be working here. She has a terrible attitude. She's rude to the kids and we still tipped her $40. The first time we came here and I lead myself to believe it was just in my head that she was rude. No. look at the other reviews. She's awful. Chelese did my son's hair yesterday & I do not recommend her either because the same terrible cut. I am seriously so upset about it. Tammy is so rude and impatient with kids. For a KIDS haircut place she seems like she doesn't like kids. We were there right as they opened and she kept being rude to my 4 year old son that I had to step in and say something. She was super passive aggressive, and I've never experienced this here before. I've been here so many times with great experiences and now unfortunately dealt with someone who honestly shouldn't work there. She kept getting irritated because he was moving and was telling him "you're going to have a bad haircut then" then told me she was trying to make him understand and was "playing" with him but she wasn't being nice about it at all and kept throwing her hands up. I ended up switching to Micah who was so sweet and made the rest of the experience nice. But to whoever brings your kids here, do not work with Tammy. read more

I took my son last Sunday March 12 @ 3pm. This is the First and last time coming here. First they called me to reschedule because my stylist called in sick. I am so upset right now. I made an appointment for 11:15 am for a haircut. We arrived there a few minutes before, about 11:10 am. There was only one hairstylist dresser, Micah. She had a little kid and you could tell she was just starting his haircut. She told me it will be a few minutes. We waited and waited. No other acknowledgment. About 11:30 am she was finally done. She told us to take a seat. She started cleaning very slowly while we waiting. Waited in the chair a few more minutes and by this time our total wait time was more than 25 minutes. No urgency or anything from her, she was cleaning soooo slowly it was like she didn't want us there. We got up and said we are leaving. She very happily wished us to "have a great day!" This is unacceptable and they just lost us as clients. Their policy says that if you are a few minutes late, you will be rescheduled. We were early. No excuse. I really used to like this place but after this, we will not be back. Wasted about an hour of my day waiting and driving there. read more

My kid loves coming here because it's "cool" but man they do not know how to cut and blend kids hair unless you are getting a buzz cut. Luckily my younger sons came out ok but we have to take him elsewhere to get it blended. and i didn't allow them to cut my other son after i watched the lady give another kid a very sad looking bowl cut and the mom looked so dissatisfied. For the price you're better off going to an actual barber who knows how to blend. I'll also add that everyone who works here is so unhappy looking. It was his birthday hair and she said my son looks like a radish in Spanish. I may be Hispanic as well but that's very disrespectful and not mindful at all. She claimed she needed to use the clippers to thin out his ends since it was so thick but ended up cutting off more than she realized and continued going shorter to fix her mistakes. Finally she called Emma over to help since her "clippers" weren't working properly. Emma fixed his hair as best as she could and it wasn't fault but she handled his hair as if it was. If I could give this place zero stars I would. As a cosmetologist myself for 16 years, I can understand places being busy and not always getting amazing service up to standards. However, I made an appt prior to the day I came which included a shampoo, haircut, blow dry, manicure, and tinsel added. The appt was 1130-1230. Completely understand this was right before school so it was a mad house. But the haircut was rushed through (literally told the stylist ten minutes in that the next appt was waiting), when I asked about blow drying her hair it was made an issue so the stylist doing tinsel wouldn't do it, the nail polish put on (this is not a manicure so just fyi) was so bad I had to get it redone somewhere else (the girl doing that was super sweet, the product was just awful and clumpy) and the girl doing the tinsel looked like she had never done it before not to mention was extremely unfriendly. Which fine, it is what it is. But for $70 and then an hour after the appt, the five things of tinsel had all came out of her hair. I called and asked to just get a refund for the tinsel, not even going to ask for a refund for the whole terrible experience. Woman working I would get a call back in ten min, didn't get a call back for four days. But my issue is the owner told the girl working that called me that she refuses to give me a refund and that I can just have a credit for next time. I explained I wouldn't be coming back, why would I come back after this? Terrible way to run your business. If you give poor service, call back and try to fix the problem. Not just, you don't get a refund and if you come back we'll give a discount. $70 for something that didn't last an hour lol. This is supposed to be a great experience for kids and to give them confidence when they leave that salon. read more
