Price gouging at its finest. The barber was nice though. I would recommend going elsewhere.

I had no idea this place existed. It's tucked away in a little nook behind the chinese restaurant,…read moreto the right of the carousel. If u checkin while you're there cut is $17 w a $3 coupon from yelp. Staff was friendly & kind to my child. Upon entering there are games & books to entertain kids while they wait & seats are miniature barber seats w/seat belts. There's a tv at each station that plays a corporate-made cartoon, animal crackers, and dum-dum lollipops to entertain /distract the child. Haircut was decent. I wanted a trim around my son's bowl cut look focusing around the ears, back of head, & bangs slightly above the eyebrows. The total truth: Layers weren't evenly cut if you looked at both sides individually & compared, the bangs weren't even, nor above eyebrows as I would have liked, higher on one corner than the other, and the back was mostly even (any mishaps not casually visual). TO BE FAIR TO STYLISTS, he is a squirmy kid & there ARE scissors in his face so caution IS a priority. The stylist was patient & kind. She DID ask me if it was satisfactory & I DID say yes. It's the same at any place that will cut a toddlers hair. At other places, Under scrutiny, I have had to inspect then retouch multiple times until I caught all those little things that I wanted to be perfect. He's squirmy-the stylists' concern is your child's safety first so we must be accommodating. The only way we have ever been able to get my child's hair "perfect" was if I held his head down for the detailed & final touches. A satisfying first experience, no complaints & I am mostly likely coming back for other cuts.

Wow, don't waste your money! They seem too concerned with time in and out than the experience. We got there, the women hastily got him in the chair and immediately started snipping. My son is crying and we're trying to console him, but she never gave us a minute and kept cutting away. His hair is so choppy. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Would never go back.

I'm on the fence with Snip-it's…read more First of all, this location is conveniently located in Rice Village on Rice University across From Velvet Taco. There is free parking, but parking is tight if you go during lunch time, weekends, etc. I came here because it was my 22 month old's first "real" haircut. When I say real haircut, I mean, not me trying to clean it up and butchering it. The price seems reasonable for a first haircut. I'm sure I could have gone to Supercuts or somewhere else for a cheaper cut. We went during winter break, during the week, so it was pretty much dead. As soon as I walked in, I was like oh no! This place is not only for haircuts, but it's a toy store, ugh! I knew what I was Getting into. I'll get to that part at the end. Amy, I believe was her name, did a beautiful job getting my son to relax and not stress out about his haircut. I mean she was just amazing with him. I was able to sit in a chair in front of him to help keep him chill as well. There was also a tv and he got to watch Bluey. But quite honestly, he was more interested in looking in the mirror and seeing what was going on. He moved a little at the end when she was trying to clean up the back and sides, so I'm sure it wasn't totally easy. But it's not like he was all over the place. When we checked out, she gave us this credit card looking thing to put in a slot so he could get a prize. It was a sticker, cool enough, he loves sticker. It came in one of those clear egg type containers. You might as well have just given him a sticker and not wasted the container. He would have been just as happy. When it was time to leave he started screaming because he couldn't take a stuffed animal home, which of course was for sale. I had to deal with the screaming until we drove off. I understand places like this. Want to make a little extra money... But for a toddler who doesn't understand that he can't have a toy is insanely annoying for a parent. That's was one of my huge annoyances with the place. Secondly, his haircut was just okay. Some places in the back were kinda choppy and around his ears aren't perfect, but for the most part it was pretty good. Like I said, it can't be easy cutting a 22 month old's hair. I would have taken him back but I didn't want to deal with the 'screaming for toy." I'm on the fence about going back. I've had some friends recommend some regular places to get your haircut and employees that do a great job with kids. But just to be clear, Amy did a wonderful job keeping him chill for his first experience with getting a haircut. It was the high stimulation with the toys that did it for me.
