My mother actually got her hair cut and styled here a few months ago by Letty. She's incredibly friendly and talks, I was actually there and we all enjoyed good conversation. I decided I wanted to get my hair cut and go to the same place since my mom had such a good experience there. I called today and asked if I could make an appointment for the same day for a wash, cut, and blow dry. I asked about pricing and was told $35. Sounds great. I head to the salon and walk in. I was told I had an appointment with Nina. It was quiet and Letty was actually working on a client. I was hesitant on what to do and I didn't know if Nina was still getting ready, so I prepared to sit down. But, I was told she was ready for me. Her tone was not friendly at all. Perhaps that was me overlooking it, so I didn't immediately jump to conclusions on her behavior. So, I sat in the chair and she immediately began preparing to cut my hair. My mom actually asked her if I was getting a wash (since that was the original plan) but wasn't getting a response. I told her that I would want a wash and blow dry, but it was almost as if I was bothering her by saying this. When I sat to wash my hair, she immediately mentioned that my hair is way too long and thick for it to just be the 35 with the blow dry. This is not crazy for me to hear, I know my hair is very thick and even I struggle dealing with it. It would be 50 instead. Eventually, it came time for the actual haircut. Firstly, she asked how much I wanted off. I told her just the dead ends. She came back with how long my hair was and it was "too long" so I should go shorter. I am one that doesn't like my hair short, so I am extremely hesitant with the idea of my hair not being long. She didn't even reference how much that would be, so I'm basically clueless at this point. I had to ASK how many inches it would be. I told her to just go with three, but she was pushing for four. I wasn't completely opposed, but I told her to stick with three and I'll see if I want four. She then said: "You don't get your hair cut often, do you?" I was a bit surprised, but I told her I usually get trimmed 1-2 times a year and my last trim was around half a year ago. I told her that I get incredibly nervous with getting my hair done due to bad experiences with the cut, not necessarily the stylist. She straight up asked: "Why? It's just hair." I find that interesting since she is a hair stylist and finds hair to be "just hair" in her field. Almost everybody can agree that hair is a sense of identity and confidence. If it was just hair, I would've cut it myself. She didn't bother talking to me at all. I was literally having to hum, fiddle with my fingers, etc to pass time. I was trying my best to be friendly. The actual cut and style? Great. My hair looks nice and feels good too. I thanked her for the service and I didn't even get a response. My mom was so upset with my experience with Nina that I literally had to stop her from going up there to say something. I will have the owner of this salon know that this place just lost not one but TWO clients. We were eager to try a place out, but were left incredibly disappointed. My family and I have a lot of people we are in great connections with in Jersey Village. We will sadly have to inform people to NOT go here and find a different place. I'm literally only rating this two star since my hair looks good. Everything else? One.

Susan has been doing my brows for over a year, but this was my first time visiting her at this location. My mom ranted and raved about her shampoo experience with Tammy and I had the chance to see why all for myself. Tammy not only thoroughly cleans your hair, she provides the most relaxing wash experience I've ever had complete massage, aromatherapy oils, and a hot towel conditioning treatment. I was so relaxed. When it was time to blow dry my hair, she was very gently with detangling and did not burn me once with the flat iron. My hair was beautiful, I've never had it styled that way before where it was slightly curled on the ends and it lasted for over a week. Tammy even offered me wine and that was the perfect touch to my Friday evening appointment. I've lived in Cypress for 8 years and have always traveled pretty far to get my hair done. I am so happy to have Tammy so close to home. She has years of experience and it shows. The best part of my visit was that I was only there for about an hour and a half. I am not used to that at all. I was also very pleased with the pricing. It was just an overall wonderful experience.
