This is my 2nd experience at a Sharky's but first time to this location. I can during the lunch hour. I was greeted twice as I entered by two different employees. This location has a small bar off to the side and I honestly don't recall if the one in Simi Valley did. I got a Sharky's burrito and added steak with a fountain soda. I paid ~$19. I love salsa bars so I was all about getting to try several. Your burrito comes with a small side of chips which is a step up from Chipotle whom charges for them. I don't care for rice in my burritos but I get the appeal. I was hungry and it does help satisfy. I probably should have added sour cream and cheese just to have more creaminess to it. But it was good. The chips were fresh and the salsas were delicious. My favorite is the avocado salsa. read more

Would not recommend or eat here again, maybe it was the servers, but the service was terrible, no greeting upon entry, other customers though, "hey welcome in". Our whole order was messed up the moment it was delivered. From the drinks to the food everything was wrong, then the lady demanded to see our receipt because she couldn't own up that she was wrong, then after seeing the receipt and noticed it was wrong, still had to wait an additional 10+ minutes for 2 lemonades to be remade, no salsa or anything given with our nachos. And the ambiance was terrible, awful vibes, no music, and a soccer game you can barely hear. I'd give this place a solid rating of a -5. Yes a NEGATIVE 5!!! They are our favorite restaurant in Oxnard. We love that they have organic options and non gmo. Their Numex Caesar Salad is delicious as well as their burritos. Our favorite is the Sharky's burrito with chicken. We like the unsweetened organic green tea. The staff here are so nice, efficient, and attentive. It was a brisk evening as I was out shopping with my sister earlier that day. We got hungry and she wanted Sharky's, so I found this one not to far from where we were at. Drove down the street a bit and saw it on the corner as we entered the parking lot. It's one of the bigger ones I have been to, nice and spacious with lots of seating inside with a bar tap on the side as you walk up too order your food. They have a few vegetarian options as well as a little something for everyone else. I got my go to tofu tacos, while my sister ordered the Superfood Avocado Quinoa Salad with chicken. Our order came out quickly and my tacos were made to order, nice and hot with a side of chips. They have a salsa bar with a variety of medium to spicy salsas and jalapeños on the side. I go to Sharky's Ventura a lot. Their salads are impressive and delicious. Lots of different veggies and fruit and nuts. They are fresh. You can get them tossed or not. You can select your leafy greens on Sharky's Chicken Salad which is about 2 meals in one with lots of shredded grilled chicken. You get good chips while you wait, with the free salsa bar. Some ingredients are organic, and all are local. I also love their fish tacos. Same as the salads, and they come with the delicious chips and salsa. Staff are friendly, fast and efficient. You can sit outside or in. You get 7$ off every so often with your membership. What else can you ask for?? Everything is fresh and locally grown. It was tasty . However to add chicken to your nachos or steak is $3 and $5 bucks . I get it it's high quality meat but there is so little meat provided . I guess I have to stick to the authentic Mexican restaurants because they do hook it up. However, it did hit the spot for my nacho craving. It around 14 to 16 bucks for nachos. A solid Mexican joint to get what you'd expect for south-of-the-border cuisine. This was a family emergency--we'd been vacationing in Southern California and pushed the kids a little too far with fun activities and we found ourselves in a hangry-induced crunch to find food that didn't suck and would make everyone happy. Sharkey's provided that. We needed something ASAP and started with the Grand Nachos with Chicken ($18) and man did they throw everything on it. It was hardy and had enough toppings to fill every tortilla chip). I ordered the Chicken Fajita Bowl ($12) and was amazed at the size of it--tons of chicken and veggies--I could barely finish it. My date ordered the Veggie Burrito, with extras ($13) and loved it. While the kids ordered a Bean and Cheese Burrito ($7) and a Chicken Quesadilla ($12), they liked it, but it eventually got too spicy for them. Worst experience ever. On Christmas Eve after a long drive from out of town I'd remembered how much I loved coming to this place the salsa is always fresh, the chips are always delicious, the service was always great. However on this occasion, the checkout woman Irlanda was extremely and I'm not exaggerating the most rudest experience I have ever had. I ordered a very small order and after I had finished ordering she addressed the next patron to let them know that it would be a 30 minutewait. She did not give me this information as I was ordering, but impatiently drummed her long nails on the counter as she waited for me to make up my mind. Not until after I had already paid and she was taking the next Customer did she mentioned 30 minute wait I could not wait unfortunately my kids had already been throwing a very big tantrum in the car and I was running late. I was extremely polite in asking her to print my receipt because I no longer wanted to move forward with my order and didn't want to trouble her with taking care of the refund now as she was super busy. She completely ignored me twice when I asked her straight to her face, I had to walk out and collect myself then come back and ask again very firmly she told me her supervisor was in the back working on orders because they were very busy at the moment. So I asked her again all I'm asking is to print the receipt nothing else I will take care of it on my own time. She rolled her eyes and finally her supervisor asked her to just give me my refund in cash form. She be grudgingly grabbed five dollars short my refund and I 100 percent saw her fumbling. I am more than sure she pocketed five dollars of my money to make up for the frustrating situation she felt she was dealing with. Her tip jar was practically empty so I'm sure that's where it went.. yes my mistake not counting it but I was pretty stressed. Made a quick visit to my local Sharky's. My son's idea. He ordered the usual -steak nachos. The nachos were loaded with cheese, pinto beans, guacamole, a mild salsa and pickled jalapeños. The nachos were fine. Everything was fresh but no pizzazz. A little flat. Sharky's is just okay. There is nothing really Mexican about it. At least Taco Bell used to have a building in the shape of a California mission. That's what's lacking. Very sterile. The place could use more color. Some Latin music would be a good start. We stopped by here to grab some steak nacho's to go. Easy to order, friendly helpful person behind the register. Grande nachos came out about 7-8 minutes later. Took them home and they were delicious! Not the most authentic nachos, but they really do hit the spot! I placed a to go order of Chicken nachos and Bbq chicken pizza online. When I arrived for pick up, it was ready right away. Kudos for that! The nachos are a little on the plain side. Although the portion is generous, it's around 17 dollars for the nachos. It's a bit on the pricer side. The pizza was decent although I felt they could of added more chicken. UPDATE: The woman who answers the phone for orders is rude as hell. You should not work in customer service at all. I went in a couple of weeks ago for dinner and the woman who took my order in person was rude too. She said "I don't know what you just ordered" and signed heavily. I LOVE SHARKY'S. And although I love Sharky's, this is probably my least favorite location, and it has nothing to do with Sharky's themselves, the food and service are great. It just has a strange vibe around it, something I cannot put into words. The only thing I can probably say is that the parking lot is crazy and the people driving through are even crazier. Whenever I have come here, it is usually on a Friday and not busy at all. My food comes pretty quickly and if I need anything else, the staff is very helpful and accommodating. My only issue is their to-go box is a very large round foil tray with a clear plastic top. So, if you have a little food to take home, you have to take it home in this big container, which is kind of awkward. Try the fajita bowl, the tofu tostada or the black bean, rice and veggie burrito... SO FREAKING GOOD! Make sure to try all their salsas! read more

The nachos are serve in a platter big enough to share with three other people. The salsa bar is pretty well stocked and clean. If you like hot salsa, good luck- all the salsas were mild to my Hispanic taste buds ;) Today I ordered a side taco (asada) and a side salad. Simple and Bomb. Taco is not a street taco but on a regular size tortilla. The salad has your yummy greens, some feta, diced tomato, sunflower seeds, cucumbers, tortilla strips and a delicious citrus dressing. My wife & I were there Sunday afternoon. We've been to this location before & it was fine. Something was not right this time unfortunately. The queso was a strange brownish orange color and was super watery. When I took it to the counter the girl said it was watery because it was hot. I don't remember it being so watery. It never got thicker. My wife (vegetarian) later found a piece of chicken in the queso. I asked for & received a refund. My shrimp burrito was not wrapped tightly and all the ingredients were falling out of both halves. Also the guacamole salsa was super watery. Otherwise the flavor of the shrimp burrito was good. This was my first experience at a Sharkey's. I'd say it's not half bad. This location is certainly nice (clean and newly decorated) at least and the service was pleasant. In addition to the indoor seating, there is also a small outdoor courtyard with a handful of tables...perfect if you're with a furry friend. :) I had the fish tacos which aside from the heavy charbroiled taste, I really liked them.
