Found a new place for crepes! Great service, fresh squeezed OJ, the huevos rancheros with Chile verde sauce was so delicious. Can't wait to come back to try more of their breakfast dishes, there were at least five other things I wanted to try.

It's a Wednesday and we were turned away at 7:55pm

The food is great, the atmosphere is great. The reason for my 3 stars is due to the fact that they have it advertised online and on the door they close at 9pm. After a long day and looking forward to dinner turned away. Really disappointing.

This is such a cute brunch spot--the view is absolutely amazing, the customer service is great, and the food is truly to die for! They're open all day, so you can come in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, which makes it super convenient. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice a beautiful display of wine bottles, and you can clearly see the full bar ahead--definitely sets the tone that the drinks are going to be just as good as the food. Fabiola was our waitress, and she was incredibly sweet and attentive. She answered all of our questions (and we had a lot!), making the whole experience even better. We all started with coffee--because how could we not at breakfast? Unfortunately, their espresso machine wasn't working, so I went with a regular black coffee with creamer. It was actually pretty good! We didn't order any appetizers, but they have plenty of great options to choose from. For my meal, I ordered the ribeye sandwich, and wow--the meat was so tender and juicy, full of flavor, and the portion was perfect. I could honestly eat this every day. My sister had the chilaquiles, which were highly recommended by the staff, and they definitely lived up to the hype. The only thing is we wished they were a little more saucy, as they were slightly on the dry side. My sister-in-law ordered the big breakfast, which comes with two of everything--huge portions and definitely worth it. Now let's talk about the pancakes... they offer both regular pancakes and Mexican-style pancakes, which are thinner--but honestly, so much better. I cannot stress enough how amazing they were. I absolutely fell in love and would come back just for those alone! Overall, such an amazing place. Highly recommend!

I wanted to give this place a visit when I drove by it just recently. I spotted it for the first time after driving by on my way to the beach. The place is located on a shore with the ocean as the view outside. Weather is always breezy here. The service when entering was excellent. Humberto was our server and he kindly seated us. He asked us if we enjoyed the food etc. was pleasant and easy to talk to. We liked that. It's clean inside and roomy, many people were there on a Friday afternoon. They had a lot of good choices on the menu but all were approaching $20. Pricey for sure. The food ordered was an omelette with potatoes o Brien. The other was a breakfast burrito with fruit. Both about $20 each more or less by a dollar off. The drink ordered was a coffee and water. The coffee was $4 and bitter. It was from a plastic container not fresh. I made a mistake I blame myself for ordering this without checking. It didn't exist in the menu as a hidden item. Overall $50 after tax and tip. It was overpriced but the experience of the ambiance, view of ocean and service compensate for this negative aspect.

The service was great, I feel like all service in Oxnard is amazing bc the people themselves are so nice. The food...maybe we ordered incorrectly, but I had the pork Chile verde which was a little too sour for me. The Mexican rice and beans were great. My fiance had the seafood pasta which was ALL CREAM, could have been more seafood for the price...but it was so heavy like 3/4 cream and even the bread was doused in butter. The side soup was a beef broth which was also super salty. We did get the wings for the appetizer which came out piping hot and were fantastic, but the size were incredibly small for wings. Our waiter heard it was my fiancés birthday and surprised us with a dessert which was nice!

First visit to Tradewinds Cafe & Bar on Saturday, May 2. Visited with my brother-in-law and sister who came from San Diego, and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and cozy vibe of the restaurant. We ordered coffee, fresh orange juice, crepes, an omelet with hash browns, chilaquiles, and a classic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly throughout the visit. Everything was good overall, and the restaurant had a comfortable local brunch spot feel. That said, personally, it's hard for me to rate the food above 4 stars. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing really stood out or left a strong impression either. I kept waiting for that "wow" moment, but it never quite came. Still glad we tried it with family, but whether I would revisit again... I'd probably have to think about it a little...

Love breakfast! Service is always great. Love the view of the water only wish they had an outdoor patio. Need to try lunch and dinner soon!

Stopped in for lunch today at Tradewinds. We started with drinks, chips and guacamole. Kristin provided quality service and was professional and kind. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and I had the tuna melt. The ambiance, food and service were very good. Highly recommended.

Excellent dinner! And shout out to Paco for his amazing service! Very friendly and attentive... Such an awesome location overlooking the tradewinds marina and we were able to chill and watch the Dodger game... Great little spot! My husband loved the Chile Verde and my penne alfredo primavera was awesome! I had a side salad with it and it was so fresh and crispy! Ended up taking home more than half of my pasta, very large portion, looking forward to eating that tomorrow! Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a great lunch today! My wife sears this is the best tuna melt in Ventura County! I went with the Tradewinds salad. Fresh lettuce and ahi tuna, made for the perfect meal. Added balsamic dressing for a zesty taste. Just make sure to arrive by 2pm. The team does a change over to start the evening at 4pm. Staff is warm and welcoming. See you all there soon!!

I read several reviews that recommended ordering from the Traditional Mexican Food section of the menu, so that's exactly what I did. Great advice because the Green Chicken Enchiladas I had were outstanding. Covered in a delicious green sauce (surprise!), those enchiladas are filled, actually over-filled, with a moist and deeply flavorful chicken. I say over-filled because they were so meaty I only finished one. I suppose I could've eaten the other one, but then I'd be over-filled. Lol. As you might expect, the Green Chicken Enchiladas come with rice and beans, both of which were above average. I wish tortilla chips were served with the dish, but other than the two chips used as a garnish for the beans and rice, they weren't. There are so many tempting items on the menu I can't wait to return. I'd really like to find out what those Rib-eye Tacos are all about. As I was leaving one of the owners asked me how everything was. I told her how much I loved those Green Enchiladas. She nodded and told me she loved them too. She said she had had them for her dinner earlier that night. I nodded in appreciation and thanked her for the hospitality. I like that they serve espresso drinks here. I tried a latte. It was excellent. The availability of excellent espresso here makes me think my next visit to Tradewinds Cafe & Bar will be for breakfast. Mikey C says: definitely coming back to try the Huevos Rancheros!

We visited this little off the beaten path restaurant on a Saturday morning. Seated next to the window for a picturesque view of the harbor and a wide variety of boats. We opted for the Eggs Benedict and a mimosa, both quite good. Afterwords we took a nice long walk to enjoy the views. Wait staff friendly and efficient. We will definitely stop by again when visiting the Channel Islands.

Excellent anniversary dinner highlighted by Nate's exceptional service! My wife and I visited Tradewinds for the first time on Wednesday evening to celebrate our first anniversary as a married couple. Nate greeted us at the door, and sat us quickly at our table. We made it just in time for happy hour and started off with their Chips and Guacamole, which was a solid portion and good start to our dinner. We opted for a bottle of La Marca Sparkling to enjoy with dinner, which was refreshing and presented nicely. We shared the chicken piccata and shrimp scampi for dinner, with both dishes featuring a linguine lightly mixed in with capers and a white wine sauce. A lighter flavor forsure, but I enjoyed it. The chicken and shrimp portions were both generous. Each entree came with choice of a soup or salad, we chose the clam chowder and their house salad with ranch. Both were good to start our meal. The finishing touch for our dinner was a surprise dessert brought to us by Nate, churros with ice cream. The churros were warm and soft, with a nice drizzle of caramel and tres Leches on top. The ice cream was very sweet, but it was an excellent compliment to the churros! Thank you Nate and Tradewinds Cafe & Bar for an excellent anniversary dinner! My wife and I will definitely be returning to try some of the sandwiches and Mexican dishes on the menu!

We came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We each ordered a cocktail. She got a blueberry margarita and I got a cucumber gin mixed drink. Both were refreshing and delicious. We ended up ordering another round. For appetizers we ordered the crispy maple Brussels and tuna & salmon tartare. The Brussels were fried to perfection and glazed a sweet maple syrup. It also came with thick cuts of bacon. Definitely recommend this. For the tartare, it was also delicious and fresh. It was mixed with avocado and turnip. We thought the turnip would be off putting but it actually meshed well with the flavors. Came with fried wonton chips. For the main course we shared the NY strip and Lobster Malfaldine. The steak was cooked to perfection with a very nice sear and flavored well. Probably one of the better steaks I've ever had. Definitely beats out any steakhouse steak. The Lobster Malfaldine was also absolutely delicious. Most of the time, lobster pasta is usually a bit bland and lacking in lobster. NOT HERE. They included big chunks of lobster and the sauce was so good. Lastly, we ended our dinner with the Strawberry Hand Pie. This is basically a warm strawberry strudel with vanilla bean ice cream. They used locally sourced strawberries and I'm still thinking about it as I'm writing this review. Adrienne was our server and she was very nice and attentive. Since it was my girlfriend's birthday, they comped our dessert. Super nice staff!

I don't think there's a bad seat in the house, but we always love to sit outside so that we have a really good view of the aircraft coming and going. I tried the BLT and, oh my!!! One of the best I've had, with lots of thick cut bacon, very crisp, lots of lettuce, tomato and mayo (I ordered it as-is). Half was the size of a regular sandwich so the other half went home with me! RRR ordered the triple decker club on sourdough and loved his as well. Half of his went home also. We both got the cole slaw as our side which has a little pineapple in it. Today we had to be out of the house due to Edison maintenance in your neighborhood. We were originally headed for Ojai, but we were hungry and didn't want to wait that long to get food. I suggested Waypoint since it was a weekday and hopefully wouldn't be that crowded. We hit them just before a lunch rush came along about 30 minutes later. it's probably been a while, but their ordering procedure has changed since the last time we were there. Now you enter, go to the host stand, and order and pay there. Then they give you a number for your order and a host takes you out to a table. It's a variation on fast casual. The idea is that they will start cooking your food as soon as you pay, and the process will flow smoothly from there. They have a lot of runners bringing out the food, and offering additional condiments or other things you might need, like more water or napkins. There are several reasons that I'm downgrading the rating from a previous visit. $18 for a plain Belgian waffle? No fruit, garnish, whipped cream, just melted butter and a very small amount of syrup. It looked more substantial because we added eggs and bacon for $3 more. The latter seems like a good deal, because the eggs were well prepared. Only two slices of bacon, though. DH and I split the plate. $21 for a plain waffle, scrambled eggs, and two pieces of bacon does seem excessive. We added a side of hash browns, which were plentiful, but were also oily. I don't remember having hash browns in another restaurant which were that greasy, so that was a fail. $9 for two cups of decaf coffee? That also seemed on the high side, especially when a tiny (and I do mean tiny!) addition of oat milk for creamer was $1.50. Really? And yet, they offered mini portions of hazelnut or French vanilla creamer for free. But we didn't know that ahead of time. A large glass of lukewarm pineapple juice was $6. I had to ask for a glass of ice cubes to be able to chill the juice down to where it tasted good. By the way, the waffle was slightly overcooked for my preference, making it more crunchy than I enjoy. Overall, it was $50 for a breakfast that DH and I split, just adding the hash browns and juice to stretch the meal. Service was good. It was the kitchen that let down the team. Also, ambiance-wise, the airport has added a large row of hangars to the northwest of the restaurant, which dramatically cuts down the view of the planes taking off and landing. That's actually another fail for the appeal of dining here. It's likely going to be a while before we return. Sad to report today's experience, but that's what it turned out to be - not the lovely little secret getaway of the past.

If we're ever back in the area, I already know exactly where we're going for breakfast! Hollywood Beach Cafe will definitely be on our must-visit list.

While what I've had of the food over 2 visits has been okay - not great but mostly good. The…read moreservice has been awful. Especially the hostess. Waitresses try their best but seem stretched too thin to be very attentive. You are made to use Cakes online ordering and wait list program which is less than ideal because of their slow WiFi. While waiting for a table you are updated on your place in line. On our last visit we waited as next to be seated for 20 minutes as multiple large parties showed up late and were seated immediately. We were told they were friends of the owner and there's nothing they could do but the staff hates it- for what that's worth. Today my Avocado toast left much to be desired. Sourdough tastes like dry thin sliced white bread. Small amount of smashed Avocado; not enough to cover the bread topped with less than fresh pico da gallo, arugula a balsamic drizzle and 3 slices of tomato that were marinated in Italian dressing. All things I like but the combination was not good. BLTA used the same disappointing bread, flaccid under cooked bacon a tiny amount of pesto aioli and more avocado then there was on the avocado toast. Kids mini pancakes were good but chocolate chips are $1 up charge. I will say yesterday's eggs Benedict was good- hollandaise is excellent. Breakfast potatoes were a bit undercooked. Bloody Mary was a bit weak in my opinion. After all of that- I got a look at the receipt and there is a 2% BOH RevShare added to the bill. My best guess is this is fee to help pay the kitchen- To be honest we went here because it was a short walk from the Hilton. After the poor service, bad quality and hidden fees- we would be better off eating on the resort.
