She asked if there was classes for survival. Luckily I found California Survival School. We were fortunate to have Dan as the instructor. He background is quite extensive and impressive. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Although I thought my seven year old would get bored with the lecture portion, Dan kept the group engaged throughout. The hand on activities were our favorite, like building a tend properly. Both my daughter and I enjoyed the class and learned essential skills that can be used in everyday situations. Highly recommend the class for any age.

On the final day...I felt like I knew many of the other clients, and staff, there for much longer than the fees days we had shared together. I recommend these classes to anybody interested in learning techniques that could save your life in a multitude of situations in a positive environment with instructors that genuinely Love what they are doing. Had some amazing conversations with new friends by the fire pit at night as well. Adult class + camp. Adam (head instructor), Josh and Aiden (the staff I had for my courses) were fantastic with different but complimentary personalities and a wealth of knowledge that naturally engaged everybody. Only criticism is that the website says you can fish...but you won't have time.

I found this place and was surprised I hadn't heard of it since he's been going to school in DB for…read more5 yrs. Decided to send my 9 yr old son to a trial coding and robotics class. Usually the first class is free but I did pay $30 - $40 for each trial class. My son didn't like the robotics class at all. He said the instructor was having a hard time keeping the kids engaged or on task. He also said the classroom was dirty and there were not enough parts or components so they had to get some from other rooms. As a new trial student you would think the instructor would give some background or guidance but he said there was no explanation or instruction from the instructor on what was going on. She was just helping kids that needed help or find parts for them. He knew one of the other kids in the class so he just sat next to him and observed (not sure why I had to pay for him to just sit & observe). He was supposed to take the coding class right after, but he was already done and didn't want to go back inside. We went after school on a Friday so he was already tired. Since I already paid for both trials, I rescheduled the coding class. They were very accommodating & rescheduled us a couple of times. He said this coding class was much better and the instructor was better. All the coding was done on the computer. My impression from the 3 times I walked in was it's chaotic: kids darting here and there and some parents picking up their kids. There are tables with robotics and coding plaques or instruments by the entrance and hallways, cluttered & dusty. The 2 young gals there were very nice but just sitting at their desks looking at their computer monitors amidst the chaos. They didn't ask him how the trial class went. Didn't seem organized or clean. I had high hopes with all the 5 star reviews on yelp but was not impressed. It's in a narrow and long strip mall with different businesses: a dentist and 2 - 3 other tutoring type afterschool places. Looks like a lot of local kids hang out after school. My son has gone to a dozen or so lego, coding and robotics camps over the last 2 summers and he said he prefers those classes/camps.

My 9Y son has been attending Magikid for some time now & still enjoys the class like it was day 1…read more He's always learning new material & able to clearly communicate what he has learned to us. The teachers are patient with him & always available to help out when he's stuck. Julia, the front office manager is always available, a text away when I have questions. Would highly recommend the center for kids that want to start their journey with coding, building robotics, and 3D classes.

They said that they had experience and it was OK no further discussion which kind of made me think they didn't have enough experience. I enrolled him in dungeons and dragons and he started showing behavior issues. He really enjoyed the class but on the 3rd class he became over stimulated and had some behavioral issues he became handsy and yelled out. They informed me a parent said he has authority issues. They asked me to sit in the class if his behavior continued and that he would no longer be welcomed. I informed them that would not help. I enrold him because I thought he would have fun, however, the classroom has too many students for him to wait his turn. I was also told that he was playing his own way of chess. I hadn't been informed of any behaviors until his 7th class for Chess Masters and 3rd for dungeons and dragons. I was not aware of any other behavior. He is not malicious I understand he can be disruptive and has his own way of thinking and that's why informed them of his disability. I understand it may not be a fit for him, it's disappointing to feel the lack of tolerance for a child like him. I asked if they would refund his last day and they said no but may offer another solution. Needless to say I will not be taking him back. He was sad about it but I cannot guarantee he will change his disability. I was clear about it they just dismissed it.
