This place keeps it clean especially during this corona 19 virus. They had a hand washing station outside to clean your hands before you came in and also limited the amount of who could come in and that was nice. Today they've even made it safer for the customer. Now you enter through the back street where they've sat up a drive thru pick up your order. Just call their number and place your order for fresh seafood and cooked seafood and then you just pull up, pay and go. During this time waiting I did become enticed by the hot lunch that had catfish and fried chicken. Visually their food on the hot lunch line appeared miles ahead of what's served at the Jett's Food Mart. The inside of the restaurant was pretty clean and well maintained given the storied history of the building. I walked away with a cheeseburger and fries with a vegetable plate containing broccoli rice, cabbages and okra and tomato. The burger patty was less seasoned than I expected but it was a good quality homestyle burger. They serve all toppings on the burger except ketchup. Nothing to complain about. The fries were also a great complement. There is also plenty of salt, pepper and other condiments that you can use to your liking. The vegetable plate was absolutely fantastic and flavorful. Cabbages were full of tender meat and the broccoli rice has visible onions, plenty of cheese and was very delicious. I have a feeling that this is the best hot lunch line in Zachary. I will be back.

However, this place has a Fatoush Salad option, that includes a topping of crispy pita croutons. This is my favorite option! Then we move along to the entrees. Surprisingly, they have a good variety of seafood offerings, which is a reasonable component of Greek cuisine. I like all of these! Then there are a variety of pasta dishes, all with a great Greek flavor. One delightful dish is the Stuffed Plate which includes a variety of stuffed vegetables, along with a salad! There are also great classic options like lamb shanks, shawarma, and gyros. The simple gyro sandwich is always a good option, and priced nicely. That's what I like about Cafe Phoenicia, no matter if you want the simple or the adventurous, they have something to satisfy you.
