I had such a great doctor appointment today at Sharp in Santee. I love their way of doing things here. I was greeted by some lovely ladies to start then I met Amy, she is a real gem. She was so sweet and just a great asset for Sharp. I haven't even seen the doctor (Dr Jubran)yet but I'm sure she'll be great. read more

Kudos to this facility for being so organized! I had to do two drive up Covid tests this month and it was easier than a drive through restaurant. I also did my flu vaccine drive up last winter. Thank you for the making the process so simple and easy for patients. The gentleman doing the Covid tests is super friendly and professional too. read more

Consistently excellent experiences here. All of the staff are friendly and competent. They are very organized and efficient. I've rarely had to wait longer than 10 minutes in any department (labs, family medicine, OB/GYN). The facility itself is clean and pleasant. Highly recommend! read more

Went for PT and and charged multiple times an extra $20 fee over my copay. I called after the 1st excess charge and was told it was because of an extensive intake...just a poor excuse to charge more...what's the excuse for the other visits?...can't wait to hear more excuses aka lies read more

This review is specifically for the Sharp Rees-Stealy Lab in Santee. I was there today at 12:15 for a 1 hour gestational diabetes lab and was instructed to approach the front desk if I felt unwell at any point in that hour. At 1:09 I approached at stated I was checking back in for my 1 hour lab and not feeling well. They said I still had 6 more minutes before I could check in, and told me to go sit. As those minutes went by, I was feeling worse - but managed to check in. My phlebotomist, Steven L., walked me to a station to sit. As we walked there, I told him I was not feeling well - and that I was seeing spots. He ignored me - told me to sit. As he was checking my arms, I begin to get chills, seeing spots, and feel as though I am passed out. I told Steven AGAIN, "I am not feeling well - something is not right.." He got annoyed and said, "if I don't draw your lab this minute, you are going to have to come back", I said "I understand but something is wrong" He got loud and said "You need to keep your arms straight if I'm going to do this , you have bad enough veins as it is!" (VERBATIM - this is what he said. Other phlebotomists could hear what was going on and no-one intervened.) I told him, again, Please help - I can't see - he replied "Fine, if you need me to call a code Blue, you will have to come back another day!" He walks off - and I proceeded to nearly pass out while he was away, vomit all over myself, and get sick on the lab chair. A different phlebotomist approached me after that to ask if I was ok, and then the code Blue team arrived to check on me. I was in so much shock and embarrassment - not a single patient liaison nor supervisor approached me to ask what happened or if I was ok. I drove home in tears - unsure what to do or why I was treated this way. I was expressing the whole time, something was wrong - and the employee was completely rude, disrespectful, and his behavior completely unethical. read more

I absolutely dreaded switching insurance from Kaiser to sharp because I remember their horrible wait times plus the La Mesa Grossmont location is such a pain with parking. This santee location made everything so much better. I've been to multiple departments at this location and I have not dealt with long wait times and all the nurses and doctors have been great. It's worth it for me to make the extra 5-7 minute drive to this location when the La Mesa one is closer to my house. Parking is easy and free here. Very clean facility because it is new. I have no complaints with the santee location. read more

I just want to say I absolutely enjoyed my first experience here. I'm generally a very anxious person and I've had TERRIBLE experiences with previous urgent cares in the past so I dreaded even coming. However, coming in from the beginning, all the employees are so very reassuring and welcoming. From beginning til end, I was very impressed how efficient everyone is. They listened to all my concerns from beginning til end and I will never forget. Dr. Dengerink & the front desk representative (wish I remembered her name) we're both AMAZING. Definitely recommend coming here. I know everyone's experience is individualized but I still highly recommended this place in comparison to other places. read more

I came in on Labor Day. I live in La Jolla but the wait times were 2-3 hours. In Santee the wait time was only 30 mins. The lady at the front (Melony) was very personable & her small talk made me feel calmer. Then the nurse named Nancy took me to the room and took my vitals. She was so so sweet and made me feel very comfortable even though I was nervous about the exam I was about to do. Dr Hill came in to do the pelvic exam on me (pelvic exams are my BIGGEST fear.. I usually have full on anxiety attacks when I have to do them). I gave Nancy and Dr Hill a heads up on my fear and they did everything to make me feel as comfortable as possible ( I listened to calm music, they reminded me to breathe, and they never ever shamed me for my feelings). The exam was quick and actually pretty painless. I didn't even cry this time! Woohoo! I just had to write a review because Nancy and Dr Hill were so professional and compassionate. They deserve a raise for sure! 5 stars!! read more

No help. Don't waste your time if you're running late. I was told my appointment was at 9:15 but it was at 8:40 then I got there at 9:05 (thank god I called since their reminder message have no info) and was turned away at the counter. I was going In to run tests on my self since my mom was just diagnosed and they said to reschedule but there's no appointments for a couple months. Between taking care of my mom and work and still trying to go to school it would be nice for a hospital to at least try to work with me. She was just like "nope you're 5 minutes over you gotta reschedule" except they don't have appointments for months. Don't waste your time. read more

I was so looking forward to this new facility to be near where I live. I am having to go to Sorrento Mesa for my Primary/etc. BUT sharp rees-stealy website lists doctors that are in Santee but when i call they actually are not local and the receptionists just transfer you to the main number because they don't know the doctor or how to look for them. Even with a referral. I'm afraid this location is underequipped and disorganized. Lab and Xray dept. are the best part of this location. Nice people and fast. Please update the website to give true information. read more

My original doctor retired and I was told by the nurse practitioner to make an appointment with the doctor who took over many of his patients. I did exactly this and had lab work done before the appointment. At no time was I asked for my insurance card. The lab calls a week later and tells me that I will have to pay out of pocket because my version of Sharp healthcare is not accepted by them. Great. They drop the ball and then expect me to pay. Going to the doctor is stressful enough. Sharp doesn't need to add gross incompetence into the mix. read more

Every time I go to urgent care, I get brought back to a room and they forget about me. Two times in a row I have waited in a room for over an hour and the only reason someone came to see me is because I went out and asked what was going on. This is why people do not go to the doctor as often as they should. read more

Once again same results I come here at 11 & I'm still waiting to be seen at 1:40 pm I honestly rather treat myself than come here I don't know why I come here expecting different results I'm definitely going to look into switching LOCATIONS. This is ridiculous honesty read more

This review is for the lab. Appointment at 8am for labwork and waited over an hour. They serviced walk ins ahead of appointments, no organization whatsoever. If you need labwork, go to a different location. Making an appointment here is completely useless. read more

Horrible experience with this urgent care. I brought my two year old child with me and showed up at 12:50pm, was told there was a 50 minute wait, so, being with my two year old brought him to chipotle 1 minute away from the hospital. At 1:49 I missed a call from sharp, I called back at 1:50 and let them know I was a minute away. I showed up at urgent care and let them know I was there no later than 1:54. They let me know that they "contacted the nurse" to let them know I was back. I continued to wait almost an HOUR longer in the waiting room with my two year old who at this point had missed his nap. Multiple patients had checked in past the time I had returned and were seen before me. It was even brought to my attention at one point that the message had been lost in translation that I had returned. I THEN, FINALLY got to go into the exam room only to be met by an EXTREMELY JUDGMENTAL nurse named Viki Leefers, who made it VERY apparent that she was annoyed by my overtired 2 year old after we waited an HOUR longer than we should have. I also felt judgment for being a single "young (I look younger than I am)" mother. If that's not enough, she left a provider note stating that they attempted to reach me "multiple times" and that I didn't come back to the waiting room in time..... I showed up less than 5 minutes after the first call. She completely ignored the fact that THEY made a mistake. "When patient was initially called back to treatment area she did not answer and was not available in the waiting room. After multiple repeated attempts she eventually did return to the waiting room and was placed in an exam room along with her approximately 2-year-old child. Exam was limited due to child child running around the exam room and crawling on the floor and chairs. She would then lift him into her lap and he would attempt poking her in the eyes and then scream when she put him down likely due to excessive tiredness need for nap. " this is ridiculous and judgmental. Clearly my child needed a nap after all of that, but these details are NOT NECESSARY. I tried contacting someone to file a complaint, and even left a message, yet, no one ever called me back. I understand these are stressful times, especially for hospital workers but being a restaurant manager, I know these stresses, and their MAIN job is to make people feel safe and taken care of, not embarrassed or ashamed for something that isn't their fault. Emotions and judgment have no place in health care. read more

Had a less than stellar experience at another local urgent care so tried the new one near me. Can't say enough about how fantastic this experience was compared to the other urgent care. From the front staff to the nurse to the doctor, all of them were pleasant, professional and exceeded my expectations for an urgent care center. Would highly recommend this location read more
