My wife and I decided it was time to repaint the trim, gutters and shutters on our home, as all were looking a bit weathered after 10 years. We reached out to a variety of local companies and each came out to offer a quote and their own suggestions. What set Sharper Impressions apart from all of them was their level of detail, their lack of "over-selling" you into things you don't need, and above all, they are just friendly and easy people to work with. Their price was also equally competitive to all, but it felt like you got more with them, while others had up-charges for premium paint, or other services. With Sharper Impressions, everything was built into the price. Once we decided to go with them, the crew arrived and was fantastic. They took great care for our home, the landscaping around the house and our new patio which was just installed. We have nothing but praise for Sharper Impressions and would highly recommend them to anyone. I am writing this review after spending the afternoon cleaning up the job Sharper Impressions nearly finished. On the plus side, the sales team came out promptly and provided a quote and scheduled the work quickly. I had contacted several other painters and could not get a response. Reasons my review is not higher: 1. poor communication between company and the subcontractor who performed the work....yes, you need to know SharperImpressions uses subs exclusively, leads to high variability in quality. 2. poor quality of work. examples: - little to no caulking around windows - I had to spend several hours repainting some areas myself because of how poorly the paint was applied - I had to scrape paint off the glass of the windows - they broke a shutter - they replaced it only after I pointed it out during the walk around at the end - the downspouts were not reconnected correctly. I again had to spend several hours redoing the connections that hold the downspouts to the house. I'm happy to pay for good work. I'm glad to leave this review as information for anyone else looking to get their house painted by Sharper Impressions. Caveat emptor. read more

It's amazing how a fresh coat of paint can update the entire look of your home. It was a pleasure to work with this company. They were super patient with us on paint color selection as well! We needed soffit replacement and outdoor trim painting. They prepped the house well, including power washing. The carpentry and painting was top notch. They did a good job. Communication wasn't always the best, as I wasn't told by the project leader when they would show up. read more

Promised to tape the windows ,they didn't promised to cover the plants they didn't promised a clear coat primer, they didn't promised to seal rut and patch all the stucco holes ,they didn't I've done a fair amount of painting in my day and I have never painted a door without having to open it.They didn't. Initially I rated SI with a good rating. That was a mistake. I noticed paint spillage on my porch that was not cleaned properly. Paint spill on my back screen door as well. Two down spouts were not attached properly. Even after requesting they be fixed, it was done incorrectly and one has fallen again and the other is on the verge of falling. read more

We hired Sharper Impressions to stain our cedar shake home and paint all of the trim. They were scheduled to come the week before thanksgiving after we were moved down on the schedule, but they ended up being two days late and then we lost a day or two to rain. And it's Ohio, of course, so we then ran into weather problems that had the crew out painting our home on Thanksgiving day while we hosted. We asked them not to rush and paint in the snow, however, they continued and all of the trim paint bubbled up where the snow touched it. So, then they had to wait until it warmed back up a bit, come back and sand all of the trim that was damaged and paint again. Meanwhile, there is paint all over our wrap around porch, in the walls and the floor, and there is stain all over our deck and side patio that both need repainted now. The crew came back out in the freezing cold to paint again and we asked them if it was ok to paint under 35 degrees. They said no but that they had to finish and won't get paid if they don't. Then the crew argued with one another and ended up leaving. Next day, another crew came out in the freezing temps and we asked them to please stop. There were cigarette butts everywhere, tape all over the house and yard, a mess. All the while, we had repeatedly asked to speak with the owner and called the main office a dozen times-no response. That whole process was a month long. I have never had a company treat us like this. read more

Just imagine the the project still isn't done, paint was spilled on my patio and deck, no one answered the phone at corporate and still haven't, painters missing deadlines, not showing up, foreman not taking responsibility and over promising and then never answering a call. I had them do my house in the past and they did a great job Brushing the paint into the cedar siding. This time they painted only one side of my house for over $900 and 2 guys said they sprayed 2 coats of paint within 3 hours. If you ever painted, you know that you cannot spray cedar. The cedar was never properly scrapped and was was peeling within 2 weeks of the job. After making a complaint, the company didn't even have the courtesy to send out a rep to look at the poor job and made me send photos to them to show the poor workmanship. Of course, they said the photos showed no peeling and that the cedar was too old. I suggest to anyone looking for a quality job to find anyone but these guys and a company who would at least come out to check their jobs for quality control. read more

Starting last fall Sharper Impressions tried to paint my house three times with the wrong paint. The painting project manager tried to blame their paint supplier even though one time he personally brought the wrong paint to the job site. The quality of the painting once it was finally done with the correct paint was acceptable but when you hire someone to manage a paint project (they hire independent contrators to do the actual painting) and you end up having to manage it yourself you should get a refund. read more

After the first meeting with them we knew we had to switch to them for their professionalism. Zack and Ryan were first class the entire time, and Jose our crew leader was a fantastic craftsman in painting our home. The painting crew was friendly and did excellent work! I am overall satisfied with the quality of the job. There was a series of unfortunate events that left a sour taste in my mouth, though. First off, be very cautious about trusting the judgement of the company's "color consultant". As I saw the color scheme taking shape on the house, it was quickly apparent that there was very little consideration for how the color choices would look overall, compared to the existing roof, garage door, and brick color (spoiler alert: horrible). I called Jeff to discuss my concerns, but he did not return my call. The job rep worked with me to pick better colors and it was agreed that I would pay for the added labor cost. When it came time to settle up, a guy who'd had zero involvement in the job, and could not make sense of the invoice (beyond reading it to me) showed up. This was the first I'd heard of a 3% credit card charge (despite having asked at the time of the quote if credit card payments were accepted), and the materials cost and "extra labor" charges appeared to be excessive. I reached out to Jeff again, explained that I was upset, and asked him to hold my check until we could discuss the invoice when I would feel less frustrated. Unfortunately, Jeff's communication (engaging when I asked for space, then indirect when I asked direct questions) served only to inflame the situation further. In the end, I paid the requested price because the job I requested was completed. But I do hope that in future more care is given to jobs that may require a little finesse. read more

I was awarded a judgement against Sharper Impressions Painting Company April 2015 in Colorado and I still haven't received my money. The owner Geoff Sharp is based in Plain City, OH so he presumes he doesn't have to abide by Colorado laws. I've been dealing with this unethical company for over two long stressful years and they still can't do the right thing. In 2013, I hired them to paint my house and stain my deck. The paint had started peeling after a few weeks, an overall atrocious paint job. Not only does my house need to be repainted but they destroyed my deck. They used the house paint on my deck floor rather than stain as the contract indicated. To rectify their mistake, they power washed the paint off with such intensity that they created huge grooves in the wood causing unrepairable damage. I probably attempted over 100 phone calls to the owner Geoff Sharp and he only called me back once with promises to fix everything. Of course that never happened! Sharper Impressions Painting in the past year has lost their accreditation with the Better Business Bureau in both Colorado and Ohio which that alone says a lot! This has been the worst experience I've ever encountered as a consumer - please stay away from them!!! read more
