I went to Shawarma Palace for the first time today after reading some great reviews. As many reviews said, the owner was so nice when I walked in. I ordered a falafel plate with mujdara. The owner gave me a free falafel to taste as I waited and it was great. Very flavorful. The restaurant itself is small with a few tables but I was taking my food to go anyway (I was also the only customer at the time). The food came out quickly and was so inexpensive for the amount of food I got. With the falafel plate, I got four falafels, mujdara (lentil, rice mix), salad, baba ganoush, hummus, garlic sauce, and pita. Everything was amazing. Cooked to perfection and great flavors. The garlic sauce was very strong but I was warned about this ahead of time and I loved it. I only mention it here because some people may not enjoy the strength. I will definitely be returning to Shawarma Palace. read more

Passing through Worcester around lunch time and picked this place based on the stupendous reviews. This place is spotless and has great service at a very reasonable price. I had the chicken shawarma salad and the mezze appetizer. For me, while the food was fresh and the portions were generous, everything seemed a little under-seasoned. I wanted to taste more garlic, lemon and spices. So not unhappy that I stopped in, but not sure I'd make a special effort to come again. read more

The food, no complains. Its delicious, meat is tender, filled with flavors. Rice is full of aroma. Falafals are awesome. Baklawa, ma ma mia. Salad is so fresh, it seems they just got the veggies out from their garden.. BUT... The entire deliciousness went downhill when I saw how the owner kept shouting at the girl working there. Poor girl almost had tears in her eyes, he literally shoved her, kept shouting at her.. I wish I could make a video. The owners need to get a bigger location. This is a family run business. The husband runs the front counter. He is very caring and knows most of his customers by their first name. He educated us on the different items on the menu. He really took his time to answer all of our questions. It was my first time here and he gave my wife free home made desert to try. Figured out what we wanted ahead of time, drove all the way here (25 minutes out of the way), got a parking spot, and arrived to find the place closed yet with a sign saying their hours on Monday included the time we were standing there. No other info to explain why they were not open during open hours. We had checked their website just that morning. It's awful to let your customers down like that, waste their time and effort, and then leave them with no plan for lunch when they need food. We had settled on this place after comparing a bunch of places. We had to scramble to find a place that was decent and open, but it cost us an hour total. We won't trust this one again. read more

Stopped at the Shawarma Place as I was at the Worcester RMV and it was basically right around the corner. What a great Middle Eastern restaurant. My family went with the mixed shawarma sandwiches and the chicken and beef shawarma plates. All customers have the thumbs up as the meals were really great and for a great price. There are a few things that I liked about this place: the food was authentic, the service was exceptional, and the entire menu is rather inexpensive (~ $10 per person). With that being said, I wish their food was more filling. There is barely any room to be seated; this is the type of place where you order your food to go. It's a tiny little taste of the Middle East, right in the heart of downtown Worcester. I come here once or twice a week for lunch because it's cheap, yet fantastic quality and super filling. Their baba ganoush is my favorite - smoky and creamy - and goes perfectly with a piece of pita. Also, the dressing on their salads is freakin' incredible. It's LOADED with lemon juice, sumac, and mint, giving the crisp salad a tart bite. Sumac is one of my favorite herbs, and it works so perfectly in their dressing. read more

My family of four stopped here as we were driving through Massachusetts based on the high Yelp ratings. I'm so glad we did! The gentleman that I assume was the owner was so kind and helpful. He made a huge fuss over our two kids (a preteen and a teenager) and made sure they had food they would enjoy. It wasn't a difficult task because the food was amazing. The grape leaves were the best we've ever had and the kids loved the hummus. The baklava was different than any I've ever tried in the past. Normally I don't care for it, but this was so light and perfectly sweetened. We ended up buying a tray to take with us. The owner also took the time to talk with us to explain why there were such differences in baklava. As we left, my teenage son, a boy of few words, simply said "obviously, we're coming back here". The man behind the counter mentioned they moved locations and things are still being worked out as far as flow.
