I go here very often and I always get the veggie burger. Top it with a little garlic sauce and it turns out to be so good. The patties are deep fried, and come out hot and fresh. Choosing the sauces and toppings can get a bit confusing since they haven't labeled all the sauces that they have available especially if someone is just looking to try some middle eastern food. read more

After a night out, I randomly found this place open late and went in. It was small, but friendly and WOW! the food is amazing. I got a gyro with hummus and the garlic paste, get the garlic for sure!! The fries were great too, covered in spice. I live in Chandler and this place is way out of the way and the parking lot is a bit hard to maneuver, but it's so worth it! Low key spot on Lemon Street in Tempe. Best veggie burger in the state, honestly. No Morningstar patties over here. No frozen veggie patties from the grocery store. If you are a vegetarian definitely give this one a chance. Reminds me of a fried green tomato sandwich. Bun is crisp and buttery on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Lots of fresh veggies, pickles, and olives. Oh and it's like 3.99! Add a Vimto and you are set. Open late, and a casual vibe. Right next to a hookah lounge too. Ordered a chicken shawarma with fries, lady proceeds to put the chicken on top of the fries, then we said we wanted the sandwich like we ordered then it took an extra 20 minutes of standing there to get our order right. Then all the fries they had made, they proceeded to throw away after giving us a "smaller box". Why? Why not give the food instead of throwing it away and wasting it. Terrible time ordering. Order an order for pick up and then came to pick it up. The hours they close at 2 and I got there at 1:30 to get my pick up order. The door was locked and I had to bang on the window. A worker came and he told me they close at 1 and the hours say they close at 2 and i told them that and he told me they changed their hours to 1 just today and refused to serve me my food. Zero stars or even negative i would give this place. The food or rather parts of it, is meh at best. I would say the best part of it is the mushroom and olives. The chicken or other meat is really weirdly cooked, i am no chef but i think when you put so much salt in the meat it is definitely to hide some bad cooking stuff. I entered this establishment to use the restroom, with the intention of getting lunch since the restrooms are for customers only. I asked the woman at the desk if I could, and she said it's for customers only. I said "ok, so I can use it then?" at which point she rolled her eyes and gestured toward the restroom. She was very rude and wouldn't even talk to me. After I was done, I went and stood at the front desk to order food (on crutches) and saw she was out back having a smoke. I made eye contact in hopes she would come in and help me, but she just kept smoking and looking at me. I ended up leaving because I was tired of being disrespected. I was in the keys last week and found a little place there that had the best falafels I ever had. So I had a taste for them her other night when we found this place. I was hoping for paradise close to home but they couldn't live up. I rested the falafel sandwich and the guy started to make it with a tortilla so I stopped him. Then he started spreading mayo and I stopped him in favor of humans. Maybe it was my mistake because it was terrible. It tasted bland. No cool Arabic salad and cucumber sauce. They did have a great house Spivey sauce but it couldn't save this sandwich. And to top things off I had to run home to the bathroom when I was done. It's a shame because they are open late night. Amazing food with amazing people working behind the counter. Entered the establishment with no knowledge of what to expect and was abruptly greeted with the smell of skewered chicken among the heat of the rotisserie. Quickly walked up to the counter with excitement and ordered what I was told to be the best dish on the menu. In hand I took a bite and in the most highest state of shock, fell in love with the combination of flavors. Everything came together like puzzle pieces; including the chicken segments that were both well flavored and completely filled with juices. This is the absolute best place!! Not only is the food AMAZING but the workers are the best, they are so personal and it's just a fun cool place to hang out and you really feel like a regular there and they are truly the greatest people. I've never felt like a regular anywhere before and i've never felt this much of a connection and warm environment from any other business. Came here on vacation with my husband and son and the food was ok. The prices are reasonable but there really isn't any flavor in the meat. We ordered a mixed grill plate and a chicken shawarma wrap. First timer here, I ordered the beef and lamb gyro and side falafel. First let me say the staff was very friendly and asked everything I wanted on my gyro so I could customize it how I wanted. The gyro was great, in fact the best I've had out of the multiple places I've tried in Tempe and the same goes for the falafel. Many places falafel I've had in Tempe are dry and pretty flavorless but Shawarma paradise makes very flavorful and not dry falafel.
