Finally got around to trying this place and wow... I wish I had gone sooner! My dad and I stopped in for lunch today and it definitely did not disappoint. The portion sizes were great for the price, the gluten-free bun was really good, and the fries were delicious. We also got the Nashville hot fries to-go and man... they were SPICY in the best way. Keep in mind everything is à la carte but you get a big portion, I think you can share the fries. You can really taste the quality of the meat and ingredients used here. As a yelper I just realized I have been going to 5th street burger for almost two years and I haven't reviewed! This is honestly the best burger joint in Tempe. Their sweet potatoes are so good. This place was nearby, I went with the steakhouse burger with sweet potato fries and a drink, also got 2 churros with caramel sauce. Don't be fooled by the burgers look, I was a little disappointed in the look myself, but when I took a bite, I took another and another, and it was gone lol. The burger was actually really good. This place is off Washington I'm a little plaza with like 5 other little restaurants. The inside was like a fast food place, but the staff in front were friendly. I got the Tempe burger with bacon and green chile and pepper jack cheese. You can also choose which aoli you want. The portions are great and I paired it with the most amazing and crunchy onion rings. Seriously, the best onion rings I've had so far. I went to zipps a few days before and also had their onion rings and just the comparison...zipps onion rings weren't crunchy at all. The Brioche bun went perfectly with it and it was just so good. The Spicy Western Burger is absolutely delicious! The meat is well cooked and the diced jalapeños really brings the Southwestern flavors forward. My favorite part of a western or barbecue burger is ALWAYS the onion ring in the middle, and the one in this burger was the perfect amount of crunchy. The sweet/spicy aioli sauce was the cherry on top, wrapping the burger up nicely. I disagree with other reviews, I think the burger price itself is at or even below market price. Funny thing, I have been here on a few different occasions but I have yet to try the one thing they are well known for...a burger. I've always ordeted the chicken tenders and a side of onion rings which are great escpecially when they don't over cook them. This time I tried the tenders with the Nash hot seasoning. I am so glad I got a dipping sauce because the seasoning was 'hot' in a good way, but the sauce tamed the spice. I like the seasoning though and would definitely get it again. While I was waiting for my order to be ready I watched customers that were dining in receive their burgers and they looked delicious. The presentation made my mouth water, so I have to go back and try a burger. A double burger is the plan, single burgers are boring. However they seemed to be out of quite a few things.. the cheese for the chili cheese fries, something else on a burger, and something else. We got fountain drinks and once getting to the area, found there was no tea and no root beer, which really limited options for those like myself who avoid soda. Love this place! My girlfriend and I have been ordering from them for a while through DoorDash as well as UberEats. The food is great, always arrives at the right temperature and tastes amazing. Only issue I have is they used to offer some of the most amazing chicken strips on the planet and now they don't!!! That's my only problem with this place.
