    Veggie Plate
    Anusha D.

Tried this place over dinner on a Thursday night. The owners were polite and warm. We ordered one veggie platter and Lamb Patter with one extra skewer. The veggie platter was delicious. I specially liked the salads and the falafel wasn't dry at all. However, my husband didn't like the lamb platter much as the the meat was just ok. There is plenty of parking as it's located in a plaza. The ambiance was decent. I would recommend this place and try it out for yourself!

    Beef shawarma meal

Shawarmati is located where The Grill Effect used to be. There's a sticker on the door that states zabihah halal. The interior is fast-food style. It's relatively small, so not a ton of seating, but there are tables outside as well. The gentleman running the place was very friendly. I went just a few days after opening, so the menu was limited for the time being. They only had beef shawarma sandwich, chicken shawarma sandwich, and chicken tawook. I got the beef shawarma meal, which included the sandwich, fries, and a drink. Pricing was fair enough. The sandwich was pretty good. However, since the pieces were cut small and they used tortilla bread, it was a floppy mess. The meat kept falling out. If they insist on using tortilla bread, they should only cut the sandwich in half so there are two big pieces. Or if they want to do the small-cut style, they should use the thin pita that crisps up properly. In any case, the meat was tender and flavorful. The garlic sauce was legit. The fries were nice and crispy, although I would have liked some seasoning on them. I also like that they included some pickled vegetables. For now I'd say 3.5 stars, but the place has potential. Looking forward to the full menu being launched so I can try a couple of other items in the future.

    Half Grilled Chicken

Ordered 1/2 grilled chicken which takes 30 mins to prepare (which I knew b4 hand & called in for pick up) instead of fries I requested if I could have rice instead. Owner graciously said yes. Let me tell you the portion was more than I expected & chicken & rice were not only filling but VERY good. It came with a side of hummus, pita & pickled veggies. All for less than $20. Needless to say it was my first time eating there & have plenty of food left over! If you haven't tried Shawarmati I hope this review encourages you to give them a try!!! Other reviews prompted me to!! Sorry screenshot is AFTER I ate ~ Needless to say I was hungry

It was a small place with only a few tables that was empty at 2 p on a Saturday. The gentleman working was patient while I read the menu. We chose the original chicken Cesar and the KO Philly. The chicken Cesar was amazing. The cutlet was cooked so well and the dressing had great flavor!! The KO Philly's meat was so tender and we really enjoyed trying something new with all the flavors of the KO Philly. Didn't give 5 stars because it was a bit expensive for 2 subs (that don't come with anything) & the KO Philly needed more jalapeños to offset the sweet BBQ (the jalapeños were a great touch!)

Service was fairly quick, and there's decent seating inside, perfect for catching up with friends or relaxing solo with a drink. It tastes just like authentic filter coffee from India, rich and perfectly balanced. The bun with malai and honey was light, fluffy, and paired perfectly with our drinks -- a simple but absolutely delicious snack. Definitely recommend this spot if you love authentic chai or South Indian-style coffee -- a true hidden gem worth visiting!

However, here as in the picture, you can see they were very generous with the meat. The meat was very tender and flavorful. I like that they put their own spin on the sandwich with their spices. Not spicy. -grilled tandoori chicken sandwich 5 - I gobbled this up within minutes. The chicken was very succulent. The spices and the sauce made it very tasty. -mango refresher 5 - very refreshing drink. Good size cup.

Last time I went to the taqueria I noticed that a new restaurant was in the works, all the way back behind the bakery. I spoke with the lady and confirmed it was going to be pan-Asian food and all halal! She told me the opening date was November 1st. Today I stopped in, and sure enough it was open. The lady (who I believe is Yola) told me they planned to rotate dishes and will include various Asian dishes, like Thai food. Today they had fried rice, crispy noodles, shrimp, fried chicken drumsticks/wings, chicken lollipop, and diced chicken & potatoes. They even had duck! It all looked good, but I decided to try fried rice with the diced chicken & potatoes, along with a few pieces of chicken lollipop (which is like fried chicken on a stick, or bone). I brought the food to my parent's house for a family dinner. I really enjoyed the food. The fried rice wasn't out of this world, but the chicken lollipop was really good and the chicken & potato dish was pretty good. I love Asian food, so I'm stoked about having a halal option. The food was sold by weight, and I feel we got a decent value. This isn't a place you can go to for a nice dinner out, but a good takeout option. Looking forward to trying other dishes here.
