The tahini sauce was delicious! The chicken kebab platter is what really had me salivating. Seasoned, moist and fresh off the grill. Legit some of the best chicken I've ever had. This restaurant had been on my list to try for awhile and stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. I will say the interior pictures are updated from previous reviews. The dining area has many tables and booths. However, the dine in and to go entrances are separate. I did notice the to go side was a lot busier. We were greeted with smiles and sat right away. I went with the chicken kebab plate. I enjoyed the rice. Chicken was seasoned nicely, but the texture was a little off. I also ordered a side of a pita which was tasty. The sauce served with the chicken tasted like pizza sauce to me. Our server didn't check on us during our dining experience. Living less than two miles away I have passed this place 100 times. Finally decided to give it a try since their new dining room was opened. Unfortunately when I went on a Friday afternoon the dining area was closed. Looked like they were filming and taking pictures. They were in the kitchen too. Anyway, I placed an order to go and less than 10 minutes later I was out the door. Ordered the BAM cheeseburger and small fries. A little pricey but then everything is. The mixture of beef and lamb is luxurious. Great blend and let's hear it for a good old fashioned char burger! The spices and sauce are subtle yet distinctive and unique. Wonderful flavors throughout. The fries are the larger/thick cut that I usually don't enjoy, but these were fried perfectly and had a great texture. Now I'm going to be nit picky on the build of the burger. And this is obviously personal preference. The burger patty is a generous size. However, the cheese was so melted and thin, I barely noticed. The onion was a raw white onion and also a generous cut. I would prefer a red onion or grill them. As it was, the onion kind of dominated the flavor. The tomato, pickles, and lettuce were all good, which added up to a tall build. Finally, a brioche bun. I know, the world loves a brioche bun. On a burger, I don't want the extra sweetness of brioche. Give me a good old potato bun or sesame seed bun instead. Nothing bad about any of the above. Great service, fast and friendly. The restaurant was empty except for 2 other parties (which left a few minutes after we arrived) . We had the room to ourselves I had the lamb burger (Eds Special). My husband suggested this place for dinner yesterday and we decided to give it a try for takeout. Got the fish kebab dinner and it was out of this world. Very flavorful! The rice, carrots and salad sides were excellent too. Ate everything down to last grain of rice, lol! My husband had the Lulu lamb and lentil soup and he said his food was excellent too. Saw this place riding by, looked at the reviews quickly and stopped by. I ordered online to save 10%. It's a pick up and go spot however, open kitchen concept. It looked clean and well stocked. Was able to meet and speak with the Ed, the owner himself. Him and his staff were very pleasant. For extremely delicious and quality food..it was a quick and efficient process! We tasted it in the car and ordered a duplicate to let our adult children taste. It was that delicious. Ed and his staff thought we made a double order in error and came to speak with us. That was top tier customer service!!! The cost is a bit higher than I'd pay to not have a dine in experience however, it was worth every penny, nickel, dime, and dollar! 11/9/25 update: We decided to do a takeout for lunch. We got the kharcho medium size, chicken kebab plate, and lula kebab plate. Those plates are great for at least 2-3 meals. You get huge portions for your money. I loved the kharcho soup, it has lamb, rice garlic, and fresh greens. Next time, I'll have to order a large size. It's that good and it's not spicy. The chicken was very tender and succulent. The lula was savory and not overpowering. Don't sleep on that rice, the rice was one of the best things. I also got a free reusable bag. First time to Ed's Kitchen. We pass by all the time but we noticed it had repairs being made. We stopped by its nice, clean, sitting area to eat. The waiter was there pleasant and courteous. I ordered the chicken shish-kabob and my husband ordered the pork shish-kabob with a bowl or rice. The food was very good. The chicken is tender, juicy, and tasty with little bits of char which provides more flavor. My husband liked his pork kebob. It was also tender with char which added to its flavor. The rice is just rice with a little vermicelli. Picked onions on the side of the kebob with a tomato purée that was very good with the meat. I would have liked some pita bread and a few slices of tomato to offset my kebob. It looked lonely! plus the meal was a little pricey. We paid about total of $45. No drinks and just the rice as an add on. That being said this was a good new place for Mediterranean food. We will come back and try something different, but the chicken kebob deserves a try! Food was all excellent as well as the staff. We ordered what felt like a little of everything. Perhaps that is why we got a free Ed's reusable bag too...too much to fit in plastic grocery bags! I used the bag at the Farmer's Market and had a couple people ask my thoughts on Ed's so they got some free advertisements too . One of the items we ordered was the Ed's Special Bam Burger. Was looking for a quick bite to grab with a friend of mine so decided to stop by Ed's Kitchen (which had fabulous reviews). It's a small Mediterranean joint with a few seats inside. The menu has a lot of options with wraps, plates, salads, drinks, and more!! The staff was very sweet and helped us decide what to get! We both ended up getting the chicken shawarma wrap! It was wrapped in a tortilla, instead of a pita. It was filled with juicy and tender chicken, fries, lettuce, pickles, garlic sauce, and a tomato sauce! The food was incredibly flavorful!! I also tried some of their falafel which was the best I've ever had!! Can't wait to go back and try the falafel wrap next time!! This is the BEST mediterranean wraps I've ever had! I got the Chicken Shawarma Wrap, it's packed with flavor and the chicken is so tender and juicy. They've grilled the outside so the tortilla wrap is fresh and crispy. The combination of the pickle, fries, veggies, and sauce complement each other perfectly. Stopped in because we wanted something for lunch that wasn't just a chain restaurant, and we saw the signs at the road. Everything was super fresh and delicious (gyros, cheese pie, fries). We were surprised when they asked for a spice level on the gyros, and selected "1". It was plenty spicy, and tasty!!! First time we tried the burgers here, and they were great, as everything else we've tried here has been (love their kebabs, shawarma, lentil soup, and hummus). Our food was ready when it was supposed to be, and the service people are friendly & prompt. Ed's definitely deserves 5 stars for this visit, which I've given, but overall, this was very sad and depressing. I used the Yelp app to place my order, which put it through Grub Hub. And while I was aware of the $2.35 service fee they were adding, I was not aware that they also inflated the prices of every menu item as well. I was charged $12.95 (each) for the two $10.95 burgers I ordered, and $4.45 for the $3.45 fries. That tacked on an additional FIVE DOLLARS over the $2.35 fee. FOR A PICKUP. I am so sick over this. Then I found out Ed has his own website where you can place orders at the original prices, no markups, no fees. Why doesn't Yelp link to that instead when you click on "Order Takeout or Delivery"? Ed could not offer me any sort of refund, and I can't hold that against him. I also called Grub Hub and they offered an apology as well as a $5 credit on a future order. Only problem with that is that $5 would basically cover additional markups and fees, so I'm really not getting any of the money I felt cheated out of back. :( But the food here is easily the BEST in Woodridge, if not Lisle Township, and I will be back often, just not via the Yelp app ever again. read more

Just ordered from Ed's tonight, brought it home and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I got the chicken kabab and my hubby got the beef kabab. We also got the hummus and falafel. For $30 we were hoping our meal would be good and it was excellent. My chicken had crispy parts on the outside and was tender and flavorful. The beef was good but I really enjoyed the chicken. My husband did too. The rice and carrot salad was amazing! The falafel was crisp on the outside but tender on the inside. It had a slight sweet flavor which makes it the best falafel I've ever had. The owner has to be buying reviews or giving free food if people rate it 5 stars. There's no way the place has so many 5 star reviews. Worst shawarma wraps my family has ever had. The wrap tastes more like a tortilla, its like biting into a wet diaper; bland sauces with meat and soggy lettuce, and it has french fries in it (why?) And the fries are soggy and old tasting. The food doesn't taste very fresh. Like the meat has been frozen, the rice tastes like instant rice,, and the salads taste like they've have been sitting around for a while. I really like mediterranean food and I've never had rice like that or tomato sauce. I'm not sure if it's a different style of med food but it's just not as good as your standars fresh med food with tahinis garlic sauces, etc. The quality of the ingredients (meat, rice, and pita especially) tastes very low regardless of a differemt style of cooking. I was blown away that this place has such a high rating. I've had their food a couple of times now and its been consistently poor. Definitely something fishy going on with the reviews here. Update: Nevermind, the owner griefs people on the google reviews who don't give great reviews. Says they're "european" style flavors. That's not true lol. Apparently there's a sign saying talk to owner before posting bad reviews, I didn't see it inside but another review mentioned it. That screams "I have bad food but will buy a good review from you".
