What a cute place! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, parking was super easy in their lot and they have just about every size, shape and kind of tree you can think of. I found exactly what I was looking for pretty quickly and a staff member was right there to carry it to the register, then out to our car to tie it up for us. This is our third or fourth year getting our tree from Shawn's. They moved locations this year so it was a bit of a drive for us but well worth it. They just couldn't be lovelier. Everyone is always so helpful, patient and cheerful. Exactly the start to the holiday season you'd want. It's a nice family run business and they've expanded their services and retail selection, making it a fun outing and a one-stop shop for all your holiday needs. Our trees from them are always top quality and last from the day after Thanksgiving through New Years, so we get our full value for the price. Delivery was prompt and they were super helpful - putting the tree bag on before bringing it in to make removal easier and cleaner later, and even trimming the top to get it in the house We can't recommend them enough. We headed out bright and early and found Shawn's x-mad tree lot open. The guys were super helpful and friendly and no "hard sell" which I appreciate! There were plenty to choose from, from miniature trees that'll work out just fine for a small office setup, to Rockefeller-esque giants that would look just dandy in your Brentwood mansion. Holiday music from the radio is played throughout the lot, ensuring that the atmosphere of cheer remains in full swing! The trees are priced pretty fairly, as well. The Douglas Fir that we ended up selecting was about $45 + an additional $15 for a tree stand. ______________ - I didn't find the checkout process to be a hassle at all - can't really say as to why so many others did. The employees who helped us were gracious and friendly - especially the fella who helped us secure the tree to our car. While I didn't get his name, he was very friendly and definitely knew what he was doing (which I very much appreciated). Thanks to his help, the process of securing the tree to our car took only about 5-10 minutes. (And in case you were wondering, a Prius can, in fact, defy the odds and carry a Christmas tree.) We have been to Shawn's Christmas trees two years in a row. Both years we had a great experience. We stopped by a Christmas tree lot on Santa Monica Blvd in SM this year before Shawn's and the trees were nowhere near the same quality as Shawn's Christmas trees. We drove 35 minutes to get to Shawn's and found a beautiful 8 foot noble fir in 10 minutes! It's also important to note that at Shawn's, there are ample employees, so we had no trouble asking for pricing or help moving the tree to checkout. I usually like Shawns but it was not a good experience. I bought a 4 foot Douglas tree on Sunday. The staff person was hard selling the stand. We didnt like it and wanted a wood base. He said they dont do wood. We paid $63 for tree and the plastic base. We got it home and it started listing to the side. It has fallen three times. And its dropping needles like crazy. Never had that problem. Really not happy but its decorated so what can you do. Next time we will go elsewhere. read more

Paid $130 for a tree fresh from the farm freshly cut and hand picked. Paid $40 plus tip to deliver and they DELIVERED THE WRONG TREE! This one is almost DEAD! I'm LIVID! I want my money back! Do not trust them to deliver your tree or even respond. We called the driver not 10 minutes-after he left and NO RESPONSE. What a scam! At least the other person got a perfect tree Update: After leaving messages and NO return call I kept calling until I got someone on the phone. They still had my tree on the lot (so they said because when it arrived it had no tag even though I asked multiple times to see it and they couldn't produce one). They delivered it within the hour and took the other tree back to I hope it's rightful owner/purchaser. I had to ask for my delivery fee back which they supplied (although they should have not only offered this but also discounted my purchase) and because they broke my tree stand (causing tree water to leak all over my hardwood floors) they provided a new one to replace it. I have to say that unless I'm desperate I won't purchase from here again. I shouldn't have to ASK to be compensated for my trouble and their ridiculous mistake. The guy who helped me went and got a new tree that had not been put out. He cut the string off and there stood a magnificent tree. The price was right and the service was fabulous. This place is great have a huge selection of trees from the small cute baby ones to the HUGE ones lol. They also have a few things for the kiddos to do as well as a train that drives around the lot. The cute reindeers made out of wood is a plus thats something you can keep all year and the fresh wreaths smell amazing. When i came santa was there passing out candy canes and talking to the kiddos. This place is family oriented its the same workers from the pumpkin patch so if you come often they remember you which is a plus. You get what you pay for here its worth the money. read more

Total rip off. I am a single mom with two kids on a very tight budget. The children and I went here last Sunday. We were totally shocked at the prices and asked one of the tree people if they had any trees for less. He said $40.00 was their cheapest. I asked if there was any place he knew of that had trees for less for people with small budgets. He confidently said yes. Go to La Cienage and La Tierra. Very excited the kids and I drove (in traffic) all the way there only to discover that it was another Shawns. Same trees, same prices. How awful to have done this to children. Talk about bah hum-bug! Can I give no stars, better yet they owe me a star. The people helping us on the lot were very nice and helpful but the women at the checkout is horrible. The tree was tagged as 7-8ft which it was but she kept making the worker remeasure the tree and was going to charge me for a 8-9ft which is $40 more. All the workers kept telling her it was a 7-8ft but she kept arguing with all of us. I picked out another tree tagged 7-8 and she tried again to overcharge me. I told her we were leaving and she just kept arguing. As we left the workers were apologizing about her and told us she is trying to squeeze every dollar out of every customer. Shawn's tree assistance staff were very kind and accommodating. However, the women at the check out were very rude and talked down to the staff in front the customers. When I went to pay, the women at the check out began to argue with the guy that helped me and made him remeasure the tree twice. They reprimanded him right in front of me. It was a very awkward and off putting experience. I will definitely be looking into other options for next year. The nice cheery tree guy even recommended I sign up for their mailing list to save $$ on a tree next year, but I don't think even want to use the discount. The tree lot lacks adequate parking, but I would give the tree guys a solid rating and would definitely come back for their help. However, the posh women at the register and their attitudes were enough to put a damper on my holiday cheer. Overall, I would recommend looking into another lot. However, if you want to chance it, the tree guys will definitely be able to help you out :) I just hope you don't encounter such a negative experience. read more
