Thank you so much Sharon Hunkins from She Bichons, also known as "ELITE BICHONS AND COTONS." My family owns a dog from a litter whose AKC certification status is currently under review and being questioned due to breed parentage issues. We paid a premium price for what was advertised as an "elite" Bichon, only to find out the paperwork and information given to us did not match reality since the litter has been tested as coton/bichon. Upon arrival, our dog was ungroomed. Sharon also failed to disclose that the dog was untrained (not potty trained or leash trained), despite being purchased at 6 months old. We paid the full premium price listed on the Elite Bichon website. UPDATE: Official DNA testing has now confirmed that the litter is NOT full Bichon Frise; the litter is actually a mix (half Coton de Tulear, half Bichon). Because the sire/father was falsely stated, our dog's AKC certification is compromised. We are seeking proper financial compensation for the loss of the dog's AKC registry status. The only resolution offered by Sharon was an offer to buy a second puppy at a 50% discount (at the buyer's expense). The owner of She Bichons has indicated she is not willing to provide financial compensation or a refund for the misinformation. I highly recommend that prospective buyers read all the other reviews on Yelp before purchasing. read more

I received sister Cotons from Sharon. They are healthy, beautiful, great personalities, and very loving. I've had a great experience with her and still keep in touch with her. I've texted and talked to her for over 1 1/2 years now and I find her loving, caring and protective of her dogs. I've loved hearing about the new litters and think she is a pretty awesome person. There are always two sides to every story and my initial thoughts upon reading some of the reviews is to wonder what these people were doing to sour the relationship. We had an amazing experience with Sharon from Elite Bichons and Cotons, the only American Kennel Club certified Coton breeder in California. From the moment I first reached out, Sharon was incredibly responsive, and she remained that way throughout the entire process. She provided us with a lot of detailed information about the breed, availability, and the next steps. We were able to schedule a visit with the puppies very quickly, and she even introduced us to a few of the adult dogs so we could see what the puppies would look like when fully grown. She gave us the freedom to come back and place a deposit at our convenience to secure our puppy. update on my prior review (please read that first to understand this) We still have not seen our Pet Snowy and after a long and tumultous rollercoaster of emotions and court documents (which still baffles my family and I how it even got to this point) a judge ruled on 11/18/21 for this breeder, SHARON HUNKINS to either reimburse us full amount of our initial investment/purchase or to return our Bichon Snowy. Her "contract" did not hold up in court whatsoever so please any future customers do not be fooled. I honestly don't know how this woman can do some of the horrific things and lie and play on vulnerable situations as she has done but she has and it has not benefitted anybody in fact the main victims here are Snowy and my children. I was talking to the business owner, Sharon, and was led to believe that I was going to get her last available puppy. I was working on getting things ready from my end and filled out the contract. Then the next day she pulled the rug from under me, she said the dog is no longer available. I found her to be very unprofessional and arrogant.She was also charging a lot more than with the puppies worth over $4000, taking advantage of puppy shortage during Covid pandemic. Perspective dog owners be ware! My children wanted a dog. I was looking for Coton De Tulear in CA, and Saw that this breeder has an available puppy. I spoke to her 2 days ago and was surprised to see that her price is $4500 with shipping for a 15-wk puppy (average price we've seen was $2000). She refused to do facetime, and would only share videos and pictures. However, After seeing the pictures my family decided to proceed. My two children were very excited. And I was messaging the breeder (Sharon Hunkins) to see if she would be flexible to lower the price to account for shipping cost or to meet us closer ( it is a 18 hour trip to ale, Mesa and back). She was getting impatient with me, and was rude in her responses. In preparation, my children made a list of what we need to buy to prepare for the new addition. When I inquired about what is included and whether to buy a crate to prepare and what kind of food to buy, and if she has best practices to share when we take the dog home. Her response to me was "don't contact me anymore, you are not suitable for a puppy". I was disappointed, my children cried, and I tried to call her or text her to understand if she is the same person I spoke with before. She repeated those lines to me again. My family is extremely disturbed. My children are crying now :( We are not sure if this is a scammer taking advantage of families, if she's an arrogant dog breeder exploiting dogs and doubling up the prices, if she sold the dog already to another customer while talking to ask, or if she is bipolar. But let me tell you, she is ruthless, rude, and unprofessional . We could not be happier. Franklin is an absolute joy. I could not recommend Sharon any more than I already have. If I could give her six stars I would. Some people seem to complain about the price but you get what you pay for. We got a very happy dog that has never bit anyone. He is like a golden retriever (absolutely harmless) in a cute little fluffy body. We have never sent him to training but he caught on to sleep, going to the bathroom and staying in place naturally. The fact that we got his full pedigree and his health background are more than worth it. Honestly, she could charge $5000 to $6000 and people would still beg to get one of her puppies. read more
