She didn't break the skin but it was enough warrant us returning her. We also took her to the vet who discovered her ears were very badly infected to the point where she was in tremendous pain , but she was so skittish we couldn't get near her to medicate them. I understand dogs can be different once brought into a new environment but my problem with this rescue is the lack of medical care and evaluating of the dogs behavior prior to adopting. If they could improve on these things they would probably be a great rescue. I'm sure the owner has good intentions and probably cares for the dogs.

Kathy was communicative with us from the very beginning of each adoption process and I could tell she remembers each and every dog that comes through the rescue. We fostered each of our dogs for a few weeks before adopting and the process gave us room to see how each of our fur babies would adjust to their new home. It was great to have a no pressure situation where both us and our dogs had time to really get to know one another. When we adopt, we promise to be their family for life, so it is a big decision and we are so glad St. Pacos facilitated that! I don't understand why there is a negative review. Keep in mind that when you decide to adopt you are getting a dog that needs your love, care, and attention. Dogs need consistent and persistent training regardless of whether they are from a rescue or a breeder. If you can't give the time and are expecting a "perfect" dog, then don't get one. Dogs aren't toys - they go through learning phases just like we do and need time and training to adjust to their new environment. If you have children then please, before adopting, take some time to do a temperament analysis. St. Pacos will let you foster their dogs for a week or two to see if it is a right fit. Like the other positive reviews, I am a dog lover and have had repeat experiences with St. Pacos and they are great!
