She didn't break the skin but it was enough warrant us returning her. We also took her to the vet who discovered her ears were very badly infected to the point where she was in tremendous pain , but she was so skittish we couldn't get near her to medicate them. I understand dogs can be different once brought into a new environment but my problem with this rescue is the lack of medical care and evaluating of the dogs behavior prior to adopting. If they could improve on these things they would probably be a great rescue. I'm sure the owner has good intentions and probably cares for the dogs.

Unless those are met, we do not take a vacation. On last Saturday, we went to Petsmart to get some dog food and cat food. My wife found this lovely dog that she would not leave without her. Art and Paws Animal Rescue went through all the questions about our living environment to make sure the dog was going to a right place, made sure that we were committed, not compulsive and showed us the papers with medical history and everything. Lulu is so happy being with other brothers and a sister and fit right in without hesitation. There are some dog rescues that only concentrate on making dogs adopted but Art and Paws Rescue really care for the dogs and we felt the right thing as dog owners. No criticism....just the reality, and we all want to save dogs. Be aware of the Vets. They are paying for their overhead in Expensive San Diego, and there is little to no altruism.

I guess everything happens for a reason. I was very happy with how deeply everyone at Wagging Tails cares for these dogs, whether they are puppies or seniors. The puppy we adopted lived with a foster family first, so it was great that she was used to other dogs and people. I never felt rushed or pressured by the staff when I was interacting with any of the dogs. They also recommended a great vet to us, which was a plus.

My pup (Romeo) was so lucky to have been with her. She def helped him break out of his shell. He was so scared of humans at first and Carol was the first to show him love. My sweet Romeo is a flight risk and managed to slip out of his collar on his first night when out for a walk. This rescue came together within 30 minutes of me reporting him missing and helped me search for him! It was a tremendous amount of support and I couldn't believe it. I felt horrible for loosing him especially on the first day but they did not show any hostility towards me. Instead they showed up and genuinely cared for Romeo's safe return helping with the search and posting flyers on social media and notifying OC animal care right away. They provided me and foster mom specific instructions so that hopefully Romeo found his way back and he did!!! Now looking back at the application process...it was a fairly smooth experience and Ruth was assigned to us. Ruth is truly amazing!!! And she makes sure that the dog you're wanting to adopt is the best fit for your family. Her wisdom and expertise helped guide us through this adoption process. She was very patient with us and listened to our concerns and responded promptly to our questions. I can truly see how much she cares for these dogs to have a loving home and that they get all their basic needs met. She loved all my updates and pics and is very quick to respond too! Once we made the decision to close the adoption, Ruth finalized the paperwork right away. A true professional!! I very much appreciated the trial in the beginning and with Romeo running away the first day, Carol and Ruth graciously offered a smooth transition to our home. I wasn't about to give up on this pup! And with him getting to know us better, we quickly became his chosen family. He's been getting the VIP treatment that he's always deserved. She was 11months when I adopted her and almost 12 when she passed. My current dog from Labs and Friends is 6 yrs old. Her owner died and the husband surrendered her. Kippy, my new friend, is very loving and cute! I don't think she's had much training, so we will start training soon. I know she will be the best ever as we help each other get over loss. She's so happy and healthy! The two fosters who cared for her before I adopted her went above and beyond to provide love and care for Kippy! I couldn't have asked for more!
