This review is specifically for Paul. And the business as a whole, really. I will also be posting this same review on several different review sites, so don't be alarmed. I'm currently very upset at the situation. I have made several inquiries to them about a clipper repair and sharpenings that were asked of at the dog show in Pasadena. Firstly, the sharpening took over 5 hours, and it was a mediocre job at best. Secondly, the problem with the clipper was expressed to the representative at the desk and it was later picked up because they claimed it was fully repaired, however, when it was brought back I found that the problem had not been fixed. We reached out to the company the next day, February 24, 2020, to express our concern, and Paul explained that a refund for the services would not be a problem and he just needed to speak with a man named Chris, who handles these matters. He promised to give me a call callback - I did not get a call. I followed up on the status later that afternoon, he said he'd give me a call either later that afternoon or the day after. I did not get a call. I called again on the 28th, he said he'd give me a call the same day. Again, I did not get a call. I made follow up calls again on March 4th and 5th - he did not answer, so I left a voice message and text messages on both days. He never got back to me. I made my last call today, March 17, 2020, to follow up on the situation. He seemed to talk to Chris about it for the first time when I called him then and said they couldn't issue a refund. He went on and on in a circle of conversations about how I was charged an amount for the services rendered - I repeated myself in a circle multiple times about how that was not the services requested. Frankly, I don't care what I paid for - that's what I was quoted when I expressed the issue I was having so I expect the services requested to be rendered. It is not my problem that you've charged me for the wrong service. So all-in-all, he refused the refund, cut me off throughout the entire conversation, and hung up on me. I asked that they refund me, otherwise I'd have to make a dispute with the bank. He said to me in verbatum, before hanging up on me, "Alright, make the dispute. You will never get your money back. You've made your threat, live up to it." I'm sorry, threat where? If he'd actually tried to listen to me throughout the conversation instead of cutting me off each time to speak his circle story, this would've ended much more amicably. PLEASE DO NOT UTILIZE THEIR SERVICES IF YOU WANT YOUR MONEY'S WORTH. One of the most unprofessional and rude companies I've ever encountered. I will attach photos of the calls made and texts sent. I have also not redacted his phone number for those of you who've also had problems with this company - please harass them with your complaints. Maybe they'll learn a thing or two. I got 10 blades and 5 pairs of shears sharpened here and none of my blades are cutting properly. My curved thinners and chunks aren't cutting properly either. It cost me $170 dollars for it, and it's ridiculous that nothing is working properly. When I called, a young woman told me it couldve been their equipment, and she would contact the owner and have him call me. When I did receive a call back, I spoke to a rude man named Paul who was telling me it must be my clippers that are the problem. And told me that he would come back and fix them but I was going to have to pay him for it. I absolutely refused, and this man kept cutting me off and wouldn't let me speak. When I called him back later he's said he would come by and see if there's a problem with my tools free of charge. My salon only gets their clippers and shears sharpened by this company and I'm confused as to why they do. I was texted by a person by the name of "Jordan" asking how I'd like to pay for the sharpening since I was not at work while he sharpened my blades. He reached out and said he lives far and wouldn't provide me with the address to the business. He simple said he takes zelle or payment over the phone. He had no copy of the receipt to send to me directly and just told me it'd be $48. I was extremely skeptical since the number was from the San Diego? I said fine, I did need some sharpening and they're willing to come over quick. The guy was very nice but the quality was awful!! I asked how long it would take since I needed them back to work and he said not very long, like 15 minutes for 5 shears? That's insanely fast. Now I know why it takes them so little time, they barely did anything to them, and they charged me way more than my usual sharpener for basically nothing done. I figured it was better than nothing. However a few days ago, Virginia, who I've never seen before, absolutely rocked my world. Christopher is very unprofessional and it was very disappointing to deal with him and his business. First he came down and when he was given our things to sharpen, he shoved them in his pockets and when a coworker of mine had offered him a bag to put them in so they wouldn't get ruined, he refused and said it was ok. I own top quality shears that are about 200$ and when I came in a few days later they where catching and still dirty. They had not been oiled and before I had him touch them they worked fine. I looked over all my blades and he chipped a tooth on my ceramic 7. All of my blades where still dirty and has obviously not been sharpened or oiled. I asked someone in the salon who was there the day he came how long it took him to do everything and they said about 40 mins. I've been grooming for over six years and every time I get my things done the RIGHT way it takes at least a few hours. So I called to let him know I was disappointed wth the outcome of his services and the women who helped me was very nice and told me he would come down to redo the sharpening. I informed her I didn't want him to touch my things I just wanted a refund. There where a few other people in my salon that needed stuff to be redone so he came down to fix there things. When I asked him for a refund he told me "no we don't do that. You need to let me try to fix them" I told him I wasn't going to let him touch my things again because of how my stuff was treated (being thrown in his pockets and the quality of them when I got them back) he said "well we can't keep everything separate and if you don't want me to fix it there's nothing I can do". I asked for my refund again and he said no. As someone who has never really had any issue with sharpeners in the past I'm baffled as to why I couldn't even get a refund? If you don't do what you say your gonna do, return my things in worse quality then when I gave them to you and then insist that I let you TRY and fix what you already messed up, why should I even let you TRY when you screwed them up in the first place ? I took four pairs of shears and 2 blades to these guys at the Groom and Kennel expo in Pasadena and I was really disappointed. First of all, they charged me $22 per shear because they said they had to take them apart, and they completely took the serration off the blades because they said it would be a cleaner cut. Wouldn't you tell a costumer that you're going to totally change their shears before you do it so they can say yes or no? When they gave me back my scissors, they felt really tight and they guy said there was something wrong with one of the pairs, and I should take them to the people who make them (which was a few booths away). When I took them over to the people who make them, I was told that they weren't sharpened properly, and the serration was gone. I got really upset because $100 is a lot of money to me, and these scissors are my bread and butter. I need them. So I went back to the Shear Delight booth, and told them I was upset and I wanted my money back. This was like a joke to them. There was no way they'd give me my money back. I mean, I get it - they did the work, and should be compensated, but I ended up paying so much money because of these guys' mess up, it was just horrible costumer service. At least give me half of my money back. The guy working there wanted me to give the shears back to him so he could "fix them". And I said "So you admit they're wrong then?" And that's when he lost his cool and got angry and defensive. After paying these guys $100 (A COMPLETE RIP OFF), I ended up giving my shears to the manufacturers (which I should have done in the first place- lesson learned) and I had to buy back-up shears to hold me over until they were mailed back to me. Horrible sharpening or not sharpening job! Chris said he sharpened my blades and sharpened my scissors and he obviously did NOT. The first time I had him sharpen it was a couple blades and scissors. He did an ok job but within a week my blades were pulling hair. The second time he came the scissors had a huge notch on them and they hadn't been dropped or anything. The blades sucked right after he had done them, and being later in the day I didn't have a dog to try them on. Shear delight used to have two good, honest sharpeners and I did find them again after someone told them I didn't want them anymore which WAS NOT true. I purchased a set of shears when I was in Bakersfield. At that point they were the only game in town, so I was kind of locked in, as I needed them. They said this was a great shears, loved them top quality, blah blah blah. Ok, fine. The shears were $180. Not unheard of for a NEW set of thinning shears. I asked for a carrying wallet to protect it, and...no. I got a thin plastic sleeve~one you might expect to get with a comb. They made sure as they wrote up the sale to let me know "NO RETURNS." That should have been the Big Ol' Red Flag. When I went home to groom my dog, I noticed that the screw that adjusts the blades was damaged, as if it had been screwed on and off with a pliers. The lacquer covering the top of the screw was chipped off. WHT?? This either was a used scissors, or they had swapped out that screw. I am NOT impressed. I can't possibly sell these as "new" or "slightly used" with this MESS on them. Since I've used them twice, I'd LOVE to know if Shear Delight has any ideas for me?? Our grooming salon have used them a few times and each time we get our blades and shears back they either are dragging hair right away or only last for a few dogs. They are very friendly and willing to come back and fix them but even the "fix" sometimes doesn't work and it's not worth the fight. I hate to add a negative review, but I supposedly had my 3 shears shipped to me on April 14th from CA to NV. My check was cashed April 20th for the full charges and I have yet to see my scissors (now April 30th). The man I left with them is now ignoring my advances in contacting him in regards to a tracking number and their whereabouts. I feel completely cheated in this whole situation and feel very abused by your company. I had them sharpen my blades, about 10 in all, and they were done quickly and well. I also had them service my Andis 5 speed clippers which they said the armature was burnt out. They have had them for about 2 weeks now and I haven't received as much of a call. I tried calling and the line is busy and the website isn't up so I can't email. DO NOT USE!!! Horrible service!!! On 7/18/2014, I had them sharpen 4 scissors and 7 blades while at the Reliant Dog Show in Houston (Inv#20109). Picked them up at 4pm, went home and tried to use 2 pairs of my #7FC blades. They were more dull then when I took them to be sharpened. Tried more of the blades. None, except for 1 pair of #10 blades cut thru hair. Not well, but they cut. Scissors were not sharp at all and feels like they were not done either. I called both phone numbers on my sales slip and left messages. No phone calls back till Monday. I received one message from a woman and have yet to get a hold of anyone and it has been 1 full week (7 days) since the service was done. I am part of the show commitee and a member of 2 out of 3 kennel clubs that host the Dog show and will write formal letters to the clubs letting them know about this vendor. Was excited to have this business reach out to sharpen multiple tools for business. Relationship started out great Joana came in was very friendly discussed services. Gave him the tools and everything was sharpened. He stated that I would receive an invoice to make payment. No invoice was received and I called and left a message 3/8/21 inquiring about an open balance. No returned call was every made. Time went by and additional instruments were needing to be sharpened so I reached out via email and inquired about scheduling a service and asked again about never receiving an invoice. Spoke with female (daughter of Joana) and schedule a time for them to come out and sharpen the instruments and she said that she would look into the open invoice. Still never received anything. Appointment day came for the instruments to be sharpened and they never showed up or called. Approximately 1 hour before business closed I called and spoke with the same female that scheduled by appointment and she was clueless in regards to the call and why I was upset and did not offer any explanation of why the appointment was missed, why there was no communication, and did not even offer to reschedule appointment- and still no mention of the open invoice I asked several times about. I was so upset after the phone call that I sent an email stating that I thought the business was poorly run with the lack of care for customers and no communication. She did reply apologizing and explained that she was driving and was unaware of what was happening and that she accidently scheduled it on a different day than what I was told. I replied with accepting her apology. Fast word and Joana calls leaving a message stating a delinquent account. Called back the next day to the number that he provided with no answer and no voice mail box set up. Front staff today 6/29/21 receives a call and he is extremely aggressive to the front staff. I will not lie when I say that I was aggressive back answering the held line stating that I am happy to pay the balance and never do business again. I was too optimistic in thinking that a sharpening company personally owned would be a good idea. Shear Delight is far from a delight and is a poorly run business with no communication. This company has amazing customer service. I normally have my shears sharpened at the dog shows, but have had two scissor emergencies midweek while pet grooming and they went above and beyond both times. One time they drove 70+ miles to my house to sharpen all my equipment before I left for a grooming competition. Today, they weren't even working and let me bring my broken scissors to their house to fix them so I could work this week. They always do a great job, the blades hold their edge longer than any other company I have used. I know this because I am clumsy and do a bad job maintaining my shears. Very nice company. They came two different times for me and were at my shop within two hours of me calling. The first time they came they were fast and got 6 shears and two blade done. All worked wonderful. The second time they came the did 7 blades all different sizes, brands, and styles. They again were fast with the two guys working. At first we were not sure if three of the blades were working so we called them and they came back within an hour and showed us that you just have to work it in becuase they are sharpened and need to fit our clippers again. Whatever your needs he can take care of you and for us Pet Stylists it's a priority. Scissors are razor sharp as are my blades (he's also been able to sharpen and repair blades that others couldn't). Same goes with clipper repair and whatever questions I have he has answered. I had my blades sharpened in March at the San Antonio Dog show, I had 32 blades and 6 pair of scissors sharpened when I got home back to arkansas, half my blades did not work, I called Ken Mills, and he told me to send my blades back and he would sharpen them for me, I sent 15 back to him in march and I still have not received my blades, he has told me several times he is mailing them out tomorrow, well it is December 2nd and I still do not have my blades..And now he is avoiding my phone calls and will not return any of my messages read more

Poor quality of work and terrible customer service. They not only removed the serrated edge on one my my pairs of shears without asking, but the rest were also very dull. I want to cry, they should be called Shear Destroyed. Had them come to the shop to sharpen 3 pairs of scissors all different brands, all curves, one pair was just dull but still cutting and the other pair had been dropped so it wasn't cutting at the tip. All 3 scissors were brought back and had absolutely no serration and wouldn't even cut any hair at all. They were so worn down and destroyed I could sit there with my finger between the blades cutting down, which these scissors used to be so sharp. They also had scrapes and gouges all over them, kinda looked like they had gone thru a garbage disposal :/ Luckily we didn't have to pay for the crappy job because we showed the guy that they didn't even cut the dog's hair. Now I wonder if they can be fixed... doesn't look like it though. So basically they want you to pay them to murder a perfectly good pair of scissors. I'm very disappointed read more
