This is truly one of the best salons in Phoenix. Personally, I go for tanning, and this salon is most definitely the best. The tanning beds are clean and well kept and the rooms are very private and relaxing. The salon is cautious and always up to safety standards with tanning. They genuinely care about the safety of their clients and it shows. All the staff is very kind and helpful and you will always feel welcome when you walk in. The salon offers pretty much whatever beauty service you could be in search of and has a wide variety of products to choose from for hair and tanning needs. A HIDDEN GEM!! My favorite small business for so many reasons. As soon as you walk through the door, you are greeted by the sweetest receptionist and immediately feel so welcomed. They have a boutique that's filled with so many unique goodies like jewelry, sun glasses, clothes, cups, and more. The best part is it's super affordable! Beware! This salon misrepresents their pricing. They do not honor the prices that are posted online and charge whatever they feel like, after the service is complete. My wife got a pedicure that was supposed to be $30 and was charged $40. I got a haircut that was supposed to be $15 and I was charged $20. My cut is as easy as they come and the lame reason I was given is, each stylist can charge whatever they want. Problem is, they don't tell you upfront. If this isn't a scam, I don't know what is. For my 45th birthday I needed a change. I decided to go with a spiral perm! I was very hesitant though because a perm is just that! PERMANENT! It can damage your hair forever if done incorrectly. I researched and found a hairdresser of 19+ years who specializes in perms and coloring! I made my appointment with Shear Paradise for later that week with ROCKIE. Best decision I've ever made for my hair! From the moment I sat in her chair it was obvious I was dealing with a professional..and one who cared about me! She explained the process and we discussed exactly how I wanted my hair to look. Unlike so many hairdressers she did my hair how I wanted it to be, not how she thought it would look best. Every choice available, she gave me and I was very relaxed throughout my appointment. I was amazed at how precise and QUICK she had my long hair rolled!! Her updated supplies made this easier! I asked her when I could come back if I wanted to add color & highlights, and again, in my best interest, she said 4 weeks. I already know the facts are it's 2-4 weeks after a perm to be safe! If a hairdresser tells you less, RUN! We chatted throughout my appointment and I actually had a blast with Rockie! At the risk of sounding cliche, we laughed together & cried together while discussing life! I'm used to being scared as hell and about to chew my nails off when someone's touching my hair! LOL! By the end of my visit, I knew that I got lucky & found my forever hairdresser as well as a friend! I told her to keep it as long as possible so she trimmed off a little bit & offered to cut anything more that I wanted in a few days, once I had a chance to 'BE' with my hair! NEEDS TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL! I went to Carlin March 8th to go get my hair colored. From brown to a shade of red. Costed $300 so it wasn't cheap. I had naturally curly hair and it was past the middle of my back. I just wanted a specific color and a trim. I trusted her since she was supposed to be the expert. She has no natural lighting in her room and I think that could of added to her not getting close to the color I wanted. So, when she was done I couldn't really tell the color until I got home and had a good look. It was no where near the color I showed her and it was way shorter than I wanted. I contacted her and told her I was not happy at all with the color and ended up going in again and had her try again which this time was worst than the first time. My roots were like a dark pinkish and the rest was a faded orangish red. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like I had shown her. At that point I just went home and decided not to go to her again because she just couldn't get the color right and was damaging my hair. Oh, and the color I wanted, she had done before so it's not like she didn't know. So after about a week or 2 the color she put in totally faded and I had orange hair AND when she bleached my hair she burnt my curls all the way out!! My hair now is like straw and no curls. Multiple people have asked me what happened to my curls. I am so sad and disappointed with my hair. I've been trying to nourish my hair back and tried to get my curls back but their gone!! I messaged her and told her and she took ablsolutely no responsibility for ruining my hair. She also offered no type of refund what so ever. She did say I could go in again so she could fix the color but after 2 times and the shape she left my hair in, no way was I going to go back to her. Pictures included. So my friends and I went to this salon because it was recommended. I needed a fill on my nails, the other needed face framing highlights and my other friend wanted red highlights. Well my nails were not completely covered. They were bumpy due to the decals she couldn't get to stay flush against my nail. The bail polish chipped off one of my nails shortly after I left. And I was charged $40 for a fill?! That's insane. Than both of the girls who got their hair dyed, they were done wrong. One has bleach patches where the red dye was not applied to and neither of them had there hair styled or blow dryed after the fact. To be charged $120 for their hair and it comes out the way that it did... not happy. Will NEVER go back to this place read more

I've went and had my hair done here a while back. The place itself was pretty big and I loved the set up. Staff was really friendly. First time I had extensions put in and Shane was literally the best! Very knowledgeable about the different types of extensions making it easy for me to pick out how I wanted to do them. I got the beaded ones. Got them done and styled pretty quick because I was headed to a concert that night. I'll attach a pic.. So after my nightmare haircut and color at Stylin' Katt's I had to find a place that could fix the cut and the color as best as possible. I called Shear Paradise on Saturday morning at 8 and they had me in by 10am. My appointment was made with Noha, a color specialist, who fixed the orangey brass color left in my blonde making it bombshell instead of bozo, and also the cut so it looked fuller and blended better. She made the experience fun (giving me an appetizer coupon to La Mirage, a Middle Eastern restaurant) and quick (I was out in two hours!) The salon can be pricey but here you get what you pay for and that is quality service with professionals that don't mess around and know what they are doing. They have over 30 stylists working at any given moment, but they are super busy, so I recommend an appointment. read more

A simple trim, the blending is non existence so my hair looks choppy and jagged. The staircase like picture you see is a result of me just picking up the tip of my hair and looking at it. There was no no "framing of my face" instead it looks like a few pieces accidentally got cut here and there. I wasn't picky or obnoxious, in fact when she said she has been doing this for over 19 years, I just let her do her thing since it was just a trim. This will not be my go to place. read more

I've gotten my hair cut twice at this salon using Groupon certificates. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They ask you what you exactly what you want and cut and style your hair the way you tell them to. For $12 coupons the haircut was decent but most of the staff seems a bit older and out of the trend loop. The location is convenient right by the 17 but if you don't live out west it may not be worth the drive. read more

I went here awhile ago and had two services done. Wish I could give different star ratings for the different services performed. First off I got a deep conditioning treatment which I liked. I hated that the lady caked in all the conditioner and sent me home wearing it and told me to rinse it out an hour later. However my curls have never been so frizz free and controlled so I'd do it again. I asked for a trim and like most new salons you go to I made the mistake of not being extremely specific with the stylist. I told her I wanted a trim to get rid of some of the dead ends and she ended up cutting off way more then I wanted. My boyfriend was in shock when I made it home because he was a big fan of my long hair. Thank god my hair grows like a weed because it didn't effect me too much. I have friends however that this would have killed them because their hair barely grows. I give equal fault to the stylist and myself. I've been to enough salons to know you need to be extremely specific, I've witnessed enough friends to know better. I tend to notice the more high end and expensive a salon is, the more creative the stylist tries to become in their own vision when it's not there head. Specifics needed anywhere you go, pictures better, lots of description. The more vague you are the more you're screwing yourself over. I also suggest an appointment because this place was packed like crazy. I was only lucky to get squeezed in. Otherwise I wouldn't have even got in for a simple trim that day if it wasn't for a stylist who showed up on her day off. So appointments and specifics and you'll be fine. read more

I really liked my sister's friend's haircut (she has naturally curly hair like mine) so I asked her where she gets hers done and she recommended this place. She's been coming here for years. And I thought as long as I'm getting it cut, I may as well get it colored too. I scheduled an appointment with Collette, who knows a lot about how to work with curly hair. We discussed what I wanted in a cut, and what she thought would look great as far as color goes. I like a stylist that communicates with you and Collette certainly does. I got a great cut and color. She's very informative and can give you great advice on what bed works best for your needs. The beds work amazing and I've never had issues with uneven tanning like I have at prior salons.
