S&L is such a cute little salon offering nail services, pedicures, and esthetician services as well. Upon entrance, someone greets you right away, and they also offer you a complimentary beverage during your service. Caylee (who now does my nails and toes) is always punctual, is artistic and creative, and personable. Caylee takes time and great care to craft and perfect the designs I have in mind. She truly listens to what I want while also offering helpful input and creative suggestions based on the examples I provide. My nails and toes turn out beautifully -- hers are the first nail sets I've ever had last over a week, with zero chippy or lifting (she does Gel X on me) and I've had anything from dip to gel x to acrylic at other salons only to be disappointed when they lift and pop off after just a few days! Her regular gel manis and pedicures are great too -- I also get gel X on my large toe. Beautiful work all around!

I found this salon via tik tok looking for a good nail tech in the area-&& the nail Gods BLESSED me! The salon is cute and has everything you want. Judith did my nails and she did beyond amazing! She literally replicated the inspo pic I gave her, she was meticulous and super precise and very detail oriented. I could not stop gloating walking out how much I loved my nails. Totally worth the price and time.

I have been coming to shears and laque for almost 2 years now, and I leave my appointment always adoring my nails!!! My tech, Judith, is always so creative and fun to chat with. Whenever I don't have a design in mind, she always comes through and pulls off something amazing! Not only is she a hard worker, but truly makes me love getting my nails done. This salon is amazing and works well with your schedule. Please book ahead to get your app in!! Truly grateful for Judith, Monse, and the rest of the staff for such great hospitality. Went in here for a service to get my nails done last weekend. The girl in the front sat me down at her desk. To start off, I don't blame her for anything and I actually felt bad for speaking up at the time which is why I didn't. We agreed on a full set short nail. She did not mention to me, nor did her manager mention to me that she was still learning and an apprentice. I could tell by the way she started my nails and started doing my nails that she was not experienced, but I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt however, my nails came out very bad and I paid full price. She did not know how to use acrylic. I really did try to give her the benefit of the doubt because she was so nice and I get it you have to learn somehow. But it's the principle, they didn't mention to me at all she was still learning and wasn't experienced and I would've appreciated the transparency. I didn't notice until after her certificate said "apprenticeship" . She did not have experience in applying acrylic or applying the actual nail to your nail bed. She applied the fake nail halfway on my nail bed instead of the tip. I'm actually so disappointed in this experience and I hardly ever speak up for myself. I paid $80 for this nail set and another woman came in asking how much is a fill and they told her $80 and she left. How is a fullset and fill the same price?

I love coming to Shears and Laque, the ladies here are so sweet and the quality of work is amazing! I leave beyond happy with my nails and I keep coming back.

Judith ALWAYS kills it with my nails. She comes up with such cute designs from simple & elegant to complex & eye catchy! My current set (I got done yesterday) is a nice red with some foil, like a present. Judith is so gentle with my nails and the whole process is done with top notch quality. Some salons cause nicks and burning but I NEVER have that with her. My nails last up to 5 weeks! Of course I try not to go that long between my gel x sets but it's still impressive quality. I have a daughter and am a nanny for 5 other children. My nails never chip or break. The salon is quaint and a nice spot to get a break.

I am so glad I found this salon. I have been interested in finding a salon with a welcoming environment that specializes in nail art, to allow for more experimenting with my nails. I booked with Ali for my first time, and she immediately made me feel comfortable. We discussed my goals for the appointment, and what I had done in the past. She was very gentle and checked-in often to confirm if I liked the shape, color etc. I was a little unsure if I wanted designs, as I had been trying to keep things simple and growing out my natural nails. I had an important trip coming up and was super hesitant about stepping outside of the box, incase something didn't work out. Throughout the appointment, we discussed different options and styles and settled on a simple, elegant design with a bold red and some unexpected elements, such as a french tip and swirls on alternate fingers. I look forward to our next appointment!

10 stars! Gold Stars! ALL the stars! First saw this place on TikTok. Called the number listed on Yelp to make an appointment, but I got the "a voice mailbox has not been set up" message. I put the address in my gps and it was exactly half a mile from my house and it said walk-ins welcome, so I took a chance. Walked in, who I assume was the owner or manager was SO nice and accommodating! I told her I had tried to call, and she said she'd find me appt. on the spot. Appt. was set for an hour later, and Lola, my nail tech was ready to go right at 11. She explained everything to me because it was my first time doing gel-x, and she took her time with every detail. The results were the best set I've had in life. Seriously. Flawless. The shop itself is small, but cute. The soundtrack is fire, and the vibes are positive. Found my new nail shop! read more

Had an appointment with Genisis and she did not disappoint! I showed her my inspo pic from IG and she got to work - decided to go with Gel X and so far, I'm loving them way more than acrylic! She also did my pedicure and while it was a long appointment (was there from about 1-4pm) since they didn't have enough people to do both services at the same time, the work is definitely worth it. I got my nails done 1 month ago by jossys_nails at this shop. The first set I got done but after 3 weeks I lost a nail, which I thought was strange as I had been getting set done at another nail salon that was cheaper and those sets lasted 5-6 weeks. The second set I got done had a nail fall off again after 3 weeks. During the set, they were playing this really uncomfortable movie that had drug trafficking and sexual assault. I should have spoke up and said if they could turn it off, but chose not to. Then, I left the nail salons thinking my nails were good to go. 3 days later the gold gems on my nails turned silver. I reached out and she booked me to get them fixed with another nail artist. That nail artist brought me in and ripped all the messed up gems out and very messily put them back in. I had giant bubbles of gel over all the gems to the point that you couldn't even see the gems. Then she sent me out the door. I went back 5 minutes later after looking at the nails and asked her to do it again because they looked so messy. There was tails of gel coming off the side of the gel blobs on top of the gems. Then, she did the same process of ripping them out and honestly did I like them? No, but at this point it felt pointless speaking up because there was no way they were getting rid of the blobs of gel without redoing the set. So, I left and messed my original nail artist jossys_nails. We had to go back and forth and she wasn't very understanding and tried to twist that I should've complained the first time she did the nails if something was wrong. But nothing was wrong the first time until they tarnished. They offered me a 40 dollar refund or to come back and spend more time having them take the nails off for a full refund. The nails were $150!!! Now it's been 3 weeks since I got them "fixed" and I have had 3 gems fall out, 1 nail come off, and most of the gems have tarnished. I feel if you are going to charge these prices then you need to provide the quality service. I went to go search the nail artists name and she has blocked me. read more

Ok firstly, I have never had nails in my life. I started coming to Judith in the summer with bitten down, weak nails. The photos attached are 100% my real and natural nails because my girl is an ARTIST. She takes her time, makes sure your nails are correct, and checks in with you always. She's the best, I literally have never had my nails grow this long in my LIFE. I've also never brought in an art design she can't do. The ruby red design she did for Christmas is SO freaking cool to look at in person. I don't think I can even fathom going elsewhere at this point. THANK YOU JUDITH!!!! read more

-Great Experience! From the moment I walked in I knew this was gonna be my new go-to nail spot. The salon is super cute and clean, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. I got my nails done by Judith, and she absolutely killed it! I showed her my inspo photo, and she perfected it to a T. My nails turned out so cute--I love them! The whole process was super chill. Judith made sure to check in with me throughout to ensure I was happy with everything. If you're looking for a nail tech who's not only super talented but also easy to talk to, Judith is your go-to. I was recommended this place by a friend and I was so excited to go! Everyone seemed very friendly when I came in and my technician was kind but didn't speak any English and I unfortunately don't speak any Spanish. We had an obvious language barrier when I asked for tortoise shell gel nails (reference picture attached) the first pinky nail she showed me looked a bit rough but it was small and I couldn't describe to her how it looked off, not including the oranges, browns and yellows but instead it just being dark black splotches on brown nail polish. I figured it was a small charge for the bloom gel dots so I didn't try to continue fixing it and decided I just wouldn't do a design next time. When I went to pay they charged me for the manicure $46 but then an additional $55 for the freehand art. They did put a $15 dollar discount because I assume they know this is not what I asked for. I was too embarrassed to argue, paid and left very disappointed. read more

Absolutely love this salon! Mayra is my go to, I have yet to leave the shop without getting exactly what I wanted or better! She is attentive to the details and always takes the time to to shape and file my nails to help me get relief from the way my nails naturally grow! Pink heart set is my most recent and green set had me receiving the most compliments I've ever received in my life I also got the pleasure of receiving a pedicure from Andy and he does not come to play! He is so skilled and made the whole procedure a walk in the park, and not once did I feel uncomfortable, as a person who dislikes people touching their feet! The whole salon is always welcoming and has incredible hospitality! Monse the owner never fails to offer me snacks, mimosas, coffee, etc. Definitely a place I'd recommend for anyone, whether you are introverted or extroverted, the people of this salon will definitely make you feel at home!! read more

Hello! This nail/beauty bar has the greatest vibe all around. Always greeting us clients and offering beverages(coffee, water, etc.), top tier to customer service. A sweet lady, Joselyn, who does top tier cuticle cleaning and nails with such elegance and always takes her time on her work! No rush at all. She is very attentive to details when shown a design and executes it better than the picture sample. Would strongly recommend, such a gentle and kind person when it comes to conversation. After having my nails butchered at a chop shop, i called Shears & Lacque & they were able to fit me in same day, literally at 5pm. They offered me mimosas, snacks & all the workers there were so kind & made me laugh, smile & ultimately got my nails RIGHT! i definitely will not go anywhere else. When i left that night my nails ended up being way too long for me, i was able to come back the next day & get them shortened to a more comfortable length. read more

I came here for my hair when and let me tell you the stylist herself and this salon is a WHOLE VIBE! I love the environment music and decor and the way everyone is so friendly and nice! Makes you instantly comfortable as soon as you walk through the door! I also love that I was offered a refreshment the min I sat down! Now for their hair stylist Veronica , she really listens to what I want and kills it every time! She's been doing my hair for some time now and never disappoints! She knows I'm the type of client that goes from blonde to color, such as red, purple, etc. to black and all over again back-and-forth to all the different colors so she make sure she takes care of my hair in every way possible couldn't be more happy and satisfying coming here and to Veronica for my hair! read more

I've gotten sugared by her before and wasn't really satisfied with my service as I realized I had a few open cuts / wounds due to the pulling of sensitive, thin skin way down there. So today my service was going well, we were having a great conversation then all of sudden a sugar pull and we both went dead silent for a few minutes. I already knew something went wrong. When we were done I knew I had some cuts down there. When I got home to pee I saw it. My lips looked like it had a big, open, popped pimple in it. And around it was pink and tender, like a cut. This made it difficult to wipe. I would post a picture but due to the area it is at, I am unable to. I would like to speak to a manager regarding this issues because this isn't the first time that's happened to me.

I would HIGHY recommend coming here their environment there is amazing and their service is even better they treat you like family and when you go just know you'll have some great laughs their. Genisis is hands down one of the best nail techs I've ever been to. Her attention to detail is insane! Every set comes out clean, precise, and exactly how I envision it (if not better). Their attention to detail was incredible, you can tell they genuinely care about doing a beautiful job. I originally ended up regretting the color and design I chose, and I was so nervous to say something, but Mia and Sally were beyond kind and understanding. They fixed everything for me with no problem at all and made sure I left happy. They were patient, professional, and so sweet throughout the whole process. I'm so happy with how my nails turned out and so grateful for how kind and accommodating they were. If you're looking for talented nail techs who listen and care, I highly recommend Mia and Sally! walked in after work and asked for a soak off and builder gel…read more the nails are cute, i can't deny, but i got my nails chopped and basically ripped off instead of a soak off and i got regular gel, not builder gel on my natural nails. as someone who usually gets long acrylic nails that cost $50-$85 it shocked me when my regular gel nails were $80. i politely asked the lady at the front if this was correct and i discovered that the $35 gel manicure had an additional $40 for design and i was charged $5 for the janky removal... alright. i was in pure shock and paid even though i have cuts on my fingers from her nail clippers. the nails are cute but not at all worth it and the prices are incredibly misleading. will not be coming back which is unfortunate because i work very close by.
