The hairstyle in my profile picture is actually her masterpiece. I wish I could afford to see Kathy more often, but I'm only a part time employee while I'm in college. That being said, she sees me when my hair is down to my lower back and starts misbehaving. I finally get to my wits end with the tangles and text her to get it cut. She knows my usual, and has come to expect it. I get a wash, condition, cut, and dry. I once asked her to cut it shorter than usual and she told me that she would cut it longer than that because she was sure I'd regret it. If I decided I did want it shorter after all, she'd fix it. She ended up being completely right. I loved the length she cut it to. Before I got my car, she actually drove me home from a hair appointment at one point. When I asked about getting my hair dyed, she asked if I was sensitive to the heavy metals in box dye, and informed me that doing it myself with a box would be cheaper. She actually looks out for the best interest of her clients. I have thick hair, in that I have a lot of it. The texture of my hair is actually very fine. Kathy has the same type of hair, so she knows what to do with it. At this point, even my sister has started going to see Kathy. If you're looking for a talented hair stylist that listens to your wants and needs, seriously think about seeing Kathy. Oh, and before I forget. The styling of my hair in my profile picture? I didn't ask for that or pay for that. My hair appointments just don't really take that long, so Kathy styles my hair free of charge when she's done.

While the building is plain brick from the outside, the inside is warm and inviting with stylists in private rooms. The waiting area includes snack bar, water, wine, sodas and coffee! They do take walk in appointments, but I am partial to scheduling ahead with Melissa Williams. She has been cutting, coloring and styling my hair since before I even had grey hair! According to my previous reviews I have been a loyal customer but unfortunately no longer. I've always loved the service from the nail techs as well as the owner, Jason. For this appointment, I scheduled in advance in order to get my favorite nail tech. I learned my lesson before when I walked in and had to go with another nail tech because she wasn't available. While I waited for her, Jason offered to take my nails which he did, no problem. After finishing he placed a sheet of paper in front of me filled with handwritten names and phone numbers. He pointed to my name and asked if that was me. I happily replied yes when I recognized my phone number. He then proceeded to tell me that I had written a bad review and I needed to take it down. Taken aback I asked him to repeat it. He did. I informed him that my review honestly captured my experience and I was happy to update it. I asked him if he addressed my concerns. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or even apologizing, he continued to state that I needed to take my review down. At this point I felt bullied because I realized that this was likely something he has done before which means that the reviews are not an honest reflection of people's experiences. He went on to tell me that I could not be serviced unless I took the review down. I asked how much I owed him for taking my nails off and promptly paid him cash. I then walked out and headed to the new nail salon that just opened by my house. I hadn't gone there yet because I was willing to drive the 30 minutes to come here. This was my last trip to Concord Nail Spa. I'm very disappointed and shocked to learn that Jason, the owner bullies people into writing the reviews that he wants. He said that I should have come to him first and I actually agree with him. Had he responded to my concerns I would have done an update acknowledging that. Instead, I'm documenting this experience.
