Looking through my reviews, you can see that I like food from all over. But I do have a preference for Middle East cuisine: Syrian, Lebanese, Persian (not quite the middle east, but close), Moroccan, etc. Now, Yemeni is on this list. I have been to Sheeba in East Dearborn many times, and was very happy to see that a location was open now in West Dearborn - so much closer to home. And the fact that it opened up in a closed restaurant is even better. We don't want empty buildings! On a snowy Friday evening in January, a most unlikely group had an excellent meal - two from Bahrain, two from Australia and me. What a great meal we shared! We ordered the platter for four which had Lamb and Chicken Haneeth & Galabah with rice, fries and a bowl of Fahsah, was there lamb in this? It was fab. Great choice, with tons of leftovers! The lamb and chicken was perfectly prepared - and I expected no less from my experiences at the other location. Fall off the bone goodness over perfect rice, with a delicate array of spices - I just wanted to keep eating more. The waitress was friendly, kept the water glasses filled, offered little glasses of a spiced tea with cinnamon and cloves - so perfect on a cold evening. This location is also much fancier than the east Dearborn location - very upscale looking, really a nice change. Thank you for a great evening! read more

Pro's Beautiful brand new restaurant with nice tables, comfy chairs, and lots of open space. The baba ganoush was pretty good, a little over priced but a good strong eggplant flavor, worth trying. Con's The fattoush salad was meh, I've had better at other middle eastern restaurants. Again, a little over priced for what you get. The place gets surprisingly loud, only about a 1/4 of it was filled and the noise level was getting hard to hear people across from me. SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. We sat there for about 15 minutes with no server coming by, flagged someone down to take our order. Appetizer comes out with the meal, not before, water glasses are never refilled. Never came back to check on us. Then finish our meal and wait, and wait, and wait. Finally flag down our server and ask for the check he says sure and goes away. Never comes back with check. We flag him down AGAIN and ask for check and he brings them after waiting some more. And there are 2 waiters just standing up by host stand not doing anything the whole time. I know they just opened so they are trying to find their grove, but this was really bad. So much time just waiting and waiting. read more

I cannot believe I've never been to one of their many locations. The food was perfect, the service was wonderful, the people are kind, and the restaurant itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated. As first time patrons, the OWNER, was the first to come to our table, asking us lots of questions about our previous experiences with Mediterranean cuisine and general dietary preferences. He then offered to take care of us by giving us the full authentic experience with his recommendations and all the bells and whistles. He came back over the course of the meal, during which they served enormous portions of vegetarian and meat dishes (I am vegetarian, my friends are not); we had a tasty salad, two large appetizers (seltah and lamb gallabah), Sheeba for 2 (which was enough to feed 4 and take home 2+ meals worth of leftovers), an entire pot of tea, and an amazing dessert sampler plate. On top of all of that, only charged us for the entrees AND applied a neighbors discount for my friends living just around the corner! All around amazing experience. We were seated quickly during lunch time. The staff was extremely friendly. I ordered the Chicken Zorbian, YUM! Very flavorful with a hint of spice. Pour some of the red salsa they have on top. Perfect combo! We also ordered the vegetarian saltah. It came in a clay pot and was filled with veggies and a flavorful sauce with bread on the side for dipping. Don't forget to order the Adeni tea! I had two cups. Finally, the owner was extremely friendly. He came to our table and welcomed us to the restaurant. Great experience! I highly recommend this restaurant. Very clean to! read more

We were in the area and saw that this restaurant had three locations so we figured it must be good. We started out with the falafel appetizer. They were very crispy, which I loved but my boyfriend felt that was a downfall about them. We also got one of each soup, lentil and lamb. I loved the lamb broth and my boyfriend agreed. He mainly eats vegetarian so that says a lot in my opinion. He got a vegetarian dish called seltah which was excellent. It came on a sizzling plate which kept the temp warm. I got the lamb haneeth. To be honest, I still don't know what it was but I loved it. It was like a an stew. The meat fell off the bone. It also came with this salsa type of thing which was really good. Reminded me of an authentic Mexican salsa but not as spicy. We also got the bread and garlic sauce. I have already been asking him when we are going back. This place is fantastic. read more

If you haven't been to Sheeba West Dearborn - you need to go. Not only is the food ridiculous good, the ambiance is wonderful too. Menu serves vegans as well as meat eaters. Great desserts. My son and I visited Sheeba Restaurant during the Taste of Dearborn. They were so busy that they didn't have any more food ready to sample when we came in. The food at Sheeba is very tasty and is beautifully presented. A waiter welcomes you in at the door and if you can take advantage of reserving a table if your coming in a group that guarantees your favorite spot is reserved. We celebrated my niece's birthday we were a party of 9. We ordered the Sheeba platter for 8, it comes with salad, humus and baba ghanouj. The food was delicious and the welcoming staff made us feel at home. We were offered pomegranate juice on the house as a compliment from the team. I definetly recommend Sheeba for all your occasions. Coming from north Dallas, I have very high expectations for food, because north Dallas is such a diverse city full of cuisines from all over the world. Ever since I came to Michigan for college, I have been continuously let down by the selection of food here, from Korean to Indian to Chinese food. Therefore, when my friend's Egyptian friend recommended this place to us, I was excited but skeptical at the same time. The one thing we do not have in north Dallas is a great Yemeni restaurant, so I was looking forward to trying Yemeni food. I went with a group of my friends about less than an hour before they closed and they still took us in, which I really appreciated because we were running very late due to a little accident at the local liquor store. We ordered hummus, chicken fasah, seltah, and adeni tea, all of which were very delicious. I personally had the seltah, which arrived in a hot stone bowl with tanoor bread. It was very delicious and stayed hot the entire time I was eating it, which was great because I didn't have to microwave it in the middle of eating, as with a lot of the food near the college campuses. The adeni tea was delicious and very strong. I think you're supposed to have it with milk and sugar because the waiter looked very suspicious, surprised, and frazzled when I told him I wanted no milk and no sugar with my tea. However, I like my caffeine strong no matter the time of day because I am an engineer with an inverted sleep schedule who hibernates during the day. If you come to this restaurant, you definitely need to try to Adeni tea. When my parents come visit, I will definitely be bringing them here, which says a lot given how my parents are also from north Dallas and have lived around some of the greatest food around. read more

This place is horrific. I was with my friends, 7 people. We all agree not to come back. 1st of all, they charged for bread. Like all other Middle Eastern places, you get complimentary bread. Not with this. I got a whole chicken to where with my friend. It took 35 minutes for a plate of bland food with rice that tastes like rat meat. It was extremely tender and moist but a little under-spiced. It came with rice and potatoes. My dining companion had the shrimp galabah, which she enjoyed also. The lentil soup was very good also. For desert, we were offered a slice of cake. I didn't catch the name, but it was pink with a whipped cream frosting. Delicious. I had the red tea to drink. It was spiced just right and subtly sweet. Was excited to try the new location after having a great experience at the Sheeba in East Dearborn a few months ago. We ordered the fasha and the lamb with the zorbian rice. Both dishes were delicious: flavorful and well prepared. The restaurant just opened, so the decor and tables and chairs are all brand new and the place seems a lot less casual than their other location. Our service was okay; it was a Monday night so the restaurant wasn't packed but we had to flag down the waiter a few times for drink refills and to place an additional order. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and will likely be back. read more

The service is horrible, I had an issue with my food and spoke to the manager named Ali about it, this young man was extremely disrespectful! Got sarcastic with me, im a customer here from California and this is how I get treated. Right when I walked in I smelt something horrifying, Jesus Christ. The service was so slow, I waited so long for my check, the servers were fooling around in the bar area as I waited patiently for so long I had to get up to ask once more for my check to actually receive it. A message to the owner, train your staff how to be responsible and always check on their customers and find a respectful manger. If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would.
