This was a quick stop for me to just honestly stretch my legs. I saw the friendly red awning and made my way into the parking lot. This location is rather large, plenty of space to just come in and not worry about taking up a parking space for an extended period of time. I got out of my car and mindlessly made my way inside. It is almost second nature at this point for me to go into any Sheetz location. I used the facilities, which were clean and in order. I then browsed the shelves and ended up purchasing a few snacks to hold me over on this road trip of distraction. The outside of this location felt a bit sprawling. I love sheetz. They have the best food. It's a blessing and a curse one is down the road now since I have easy access to the mozzarella sticks! This location has a drive through along with a car wash too which is nice to get everything done at once. Always have been grateful for Sheetz. If I'm not mistaken, this was the first northern Virginia location. (Loudon/Fairfax) This is right off of route 50, and a clean place to take a break. Gas pumps are plentiful, and Sheetz rewards can be handy. Right now obviously there's screaming while filling up. It is what it is, and here there's plenty of room for that big pickup! There's a beer cave here. Also nice employees and MTO sandwiches. That alone can be good for road trips. The facilities here are super clean. I came in at 12:05 for two hot dogs. The seating area had two chairs to block the entrance. I asked the workers if I could eat there and they said yes and then realized that Kim had blocked it off and then said no. I asked Kim if I could sit there and she looked me up and down and said no. I don't get racists in Northern VA but she was definitely one. it is now 12:38 and no one has cleaned the seating area. I don't think Sheetz should hire lazy racists. Been here a few times for breakfast - always for a sausage, egg, and cheese on English Muffin breakfast sandwich with a hash brown on the side - and coffee. I always select "black pepper" and "margarine" to be added to the breakfast sandwich. For some reason the breakfast sandwiches here are a bit more inconsistent than my home Sheetz in Haymarket - there the breakfast sandwiches have been consistent - hot and well made. At this Sheetz - on one occasion, the sandwich was room temperature, and on another - there was so much margarine applied to the English muffin that the sandwich was dripping. A good place though to gas up and restock on whatever beverages and other convenience store needs. read more

I really don't understand the hype. My friends have likened Sheetz to Wawa and I honestly can't understand how they could come up with that. I stopped in for coffee and a breakfast burrito bowl. For coffee, I ordered a made-to-order latte with pumpkin pie flavoring and skim milk - no extra syrups or sugar. It was extremely salty/sweet, like the syrup to coffee ratio was 2:1. The breakfast burrito bowl was a mess and you can't claim to offer romaine as a lettuce option but then serve arugula like the customer won't notice. Also, I only selected raw onions as an option but they gave me raw and grilled - so my bowl was mostly onion. Overall, the made to order coffee is gross and they don't pay attention to your ingredients when they prepare your food. As a gas station for quick coffee and donut purchase, perhaps this could be good but by no means does this Sheetz ever replace Wawa for quality. read more

I went to Sheetz tonight and tried to get some gas. The machine I was at was having difficulty processing my zip code so I went inside and politely asked the cashier to cancel my transaction. He proceeded to brush me off and explained the machine was broken and had been for awhile.....he also said that there was nothing he could do, that it was cancelled..well that's not what the screen is reading. This gas station is in my neighborhood and the only gas station that I go to, except when I'm out of town. Their gas is cheapest than any other gas nearby. Its got easy access to the main road, free air and cheapest cigarettes. Also if you're hungry at 3am, you can order MTO (made to order) Sheetz snacks. read more

Pretty competitive on price. I don't really eat gas station food but for the occasional run in for a snack they have a good selection. Same as soda. Easy in and easy out. Only complaint I have is that many times several pumps are out of service and it's always the one I pull into then have to circle round, and usually losing the one that was open to the car that came in behind me. But I have no idea if this is cause they run out of gas or just old pumps. I do lately I've seen a few new pumps??? So hoping this improves. I like Sheetz cause I am from NJ and it is like a Wawa on steroids. The food is very good and pretty fresh. The sauces are great! The coffee is hit or miss but I am a big coffee addict so I am real picky. The prices are a decent depending on what you are looking for.. They do offer a Sheetz card though that I have recieved some good deals with. The gas pricing depends on the area.. I live in Loudoun county so generally you have to give away a limb or your first born for a gallon of gas. The Sheetz I went to is in Loudoun County but in Chantilly and I didn't find the gas to be too bad there. The gas also lasted quite a while in my car and wasn't like water so thats also a plus. Since I had training in the area for a few weeks, Sheetz became my "spot". after having a lot of positive things to say to my wife about it, one night around 11:30 or so she decided.. I have a hard time picking between Wawa and Sheetz as they are usually not in the same areas but give you the 7 - Eleven on steriods feel.... This Sheetz is a frequent haunt of mine as I am on the road near this place all the time and the occasional quick fuel stop for either myself or the vehicle! I must say I like their sammich's better than wawa but wawa has better coffee!! These guys are always friendly and prompt for service and the bathrooms are always clean and don't have that I smell like a toilet cake stench to them! read more

We have lived near this Sheetz for nearly ten years now. I shudder to think how much money I have spent there. For a freakin' gas station, Sheetz has great food and coffee. The coffee has NEVER been stale. I mean never. Even at 3 AM. As for the food, some of the stuff is better than others. I love the yogurt parfaits (peach, blackberry, strawberry, etc) and the new greek honey yogurt/apricot parfait. That one is amazing. The MTO breakfast items are usually what I get. Very good biscuits and burritos. Also, the blueberry muffins are excellent (but sometimes are still frozen). My kids love the milkshakes. I'd probably give Sheetz four stars, but since it's the only food place I can walk to from my house, I'm throwing in the fifth star. And a shout-out to my man Buu! read more

First off, I love Sheetz. I buy Sheetz gas and often buy food from Sheetz. They have great service and a huge selection of items. I recently signed up for a Sheetz card and was surprised by the discounts that being a member provided. I wish I would have signed up earlier! The one downfall is that this Sheetz is inconsistent. Depending on who prepares your food, results may vary. I feel like each time I go to Sheetz I never know what to expect from my order. There needs to be some tightening up from an operations standpoint to ensure that orders are consistent. read more

People are very frequently either apathetic or passionate about one or the other. I think it is a regional thing and is based purely on what they had around when they were "growing up" (aka a drunk kid in college). Its like people who argue whether New York style or Chicago Deep Dish is better pizza. Or if Texas or North Carolina style BBQ is better. Since I've visited both in the last week I have set out to answer the age old question "which is better Wawa or Sheetz" Sheetz Pros: -the diversity of their MTO menu is unparalleled. You can get wraps, salads, subs, sandwiches, pretzel melts, burgers and hot dogs. All made to order. Plus they also have sides and fryz, which includes garlic fries, chili cheese fries, onion rings and etc. Yea its amazing. If Wawa had that, I think my freshman 15 would have been a freshman 35. And that's not to mention all the breakfast stuff.. yea its intense -Their made to order expresso bar. Chocolate chip mocha? Iced, frozen or hot? Sugar free dark chocolate mocha? Wow. -Krispy Kreme donuts - soft pretzels. They are so yummy and you can get them with icing or nacho cheese -its only 6.8 miles from my house. Cons: - I don't like to admit I like it. - The price on their expressos! 3.25 for a medium! Its like starbucks! - Milkshakes. They typically only have chocolate, vanilla and one featured flavor. - No premade "grab and go" meals. It takes time to cook everything. I purchased gas at Sheetz Chantilly Va on 1/3/10. It was one of those cold, blustery days when you don't want to even get out of your car, let alone make several trips inside. The gas pump malfunctioned and repeatedly flashed messages: please scan your card and alternately please select grade. I reported the problem to the manager, Dennis, who rudely told me it was my card, not his pump! I tried again with no success. I asked, but he did not offer, if I could pay inside and he said I had to charge a specific amount which I could not do as I wanted to fill my tank and I do not know the exact amount to do so. I went back out and tried a different pump and had success. Again, I returned to inside the store and was told that I am the only one with a problem and that no one else had a problem and that other customers had used pump #5. He never offered to come out and check his malfunctioning pump. The problem was their pumps card reader, not my card. Yet he insisted I had a bad card. At no time did he admit any fault. That's bad business and egregious customer service. Bad enough their pump does not work but then to be told I have a bad card and to announce that loudly to everyone in the store is just plain rude. I won't be back to Sheetz. I recommend WaWa or Costco. At least their pumps work and if they don't work, they offer to fix them, not blame an innocent customer's credit card. read more
