Really, in my opinion, they should just drop doughnuts and focus on beverages. They had a very limited selection of basic doughnuts; we've found more selection at our local Giant Eagle grocery store. The DD we've always been familiar with had a big selection of doughnuts, but that was in another era. We never got to speak to anyone; ordering was done from a kiosk at the counter. I saw our doughnuts being picked out and bagged. I didn't know I had to wait for them to be put on a shelf. The bag was set on a side counter, so I went to grab the bag and got a snotty, "Please don't touch," by the girl who bagged the treats and set them down. When our bag made it to the unmarked side shelf, I grabbed them and walked out. My wife said I got an icy glare from the girl. So zero stars for customer service--not a great first impression. Maybe Starbucks has us spoiled, where we get cheery greetings and smiles, even when they're busy. Everything seemed to be clean, even on a rainy day, so kudos for tidiness, but also no signage (that we could see) to tell us where lines started, where to place orders, or where to pick up food. Doughnuts were okay, but, again, I think the focus now is on beverages. Customer service here feels like an afterthought. Maybe it's okay if you go through the drive-thru.

We always order by app. We arrived at the store 15 minutes after we ordered and had to wait another 20 before we got our drinks. This used to be the go-to Starbucks for me and my wife for a long time, but we stopped coming to the Portage Trail Starbucks more than a year ago because we got tired of our mobile orders constantly needing attention. The store became so inconsistent in getting our orders right that about half the time something wasn't made correctly or something was forgotten. When you're on your way to work in the morning, nobody has time to wait-that's why people like us like to order ahead. It's uncomfortable to complain, but if you're paying $7.00 for a cup of coffee you're hoping to enjoy, then it really needs to be made right.
