I'm not sure what's going on with this place, but the Auburn location seems to be going in the same direction that the Tiger Town location did. Which is to say, not good. Having managed food and bev myself, I do understand the current labor shortages, particularly in the service industry. However, in this case, there were five employees standing around talking when they needed to be cleaning! The restaurant was filthy, tables all dirty, floors strewn with food and trash. It seems they've also lost their liquor license (or not renewed it), also not good. Seeing a food establishment in that condition makes me very leary about the conditions in kitchen/storage! BurgerFi has some really fun burgers on their menu. I got the breakfast burger and my date had the bacon cheeseburger. The burgers are a decent size so we both had maybe 1/3 left over. Unfortunately the fries were a total miss for us both. They were very soft and basically just sliced potatoes that felt like they had been baked. There was none of the fry crunch or crispiness. I have seen the BurgerFi franchise in a few places but never tried one. I thought it would be more on the scale of 5 Guys or one of those Build-a-Burger place. Instead, it has it's own uniqueness to it that unites carnivores and vegetarians alike. They have about 4 burger choices for us meat-eaters and about 4 choices for the non-meat eaters. The burger I chose was called the CEO. The burger has a candied bacon-tomato jam, a truffle aioli, aged swiss cheese, and the burger is made out of wagyu-brisket. I had never had a burger like it. But yet, it seemed sort of disappointing because the hamburger patties were very thin like a fast food burger. But the ingredients make it a worthy burger and a step-up from the regular fast food burger. Fries seemed to be freshly cut. BurgerFi also serves custard with different flavors. I had a Oh My Chocolate shake. I wasnt planning on getting one until I saw one of my buddies walk out with one. I'm sure glad he changed my mind! Haha That was the best part of the meal. Granted these burgers are very small compared to what you would normally find in the Auburn area, but the fries are to die for and the burgers themselves are phenomenal so if you're not super hungry and you want to go grab you a bite to eat the high-quality burger is your best bet. I love the layout and the decor of this little restaurant. I know this is a chain, however the customer service and the food quality definitely exceeds expectations. The food is delicious, they are similar to another chain of having a "normal size" which is 2 patties, or a "little" which is a single patty. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger "Green Style", so my burger was wrapped in lettuce. My only complaint is they serve the burger in a paper bag, and with the juice of the burger dripping out of the lettuce, the paper bag rips, and it becomes difficult to eat. However the taste and quality of the ingredients were amazing. The pickles were crunchy and almost had a sweeter taste to them. I noticed they also serve custard and milkshakes. While we were there, they were passing out free samples of their custard which looked amazing. My husband ordered a plain bacon cheeseburger and fries, and another person in our party ordered the onion rings. The fries could have been ordered extra crispy to his liking, but they were super fresh and tasted very good. Plus they serve beer, so that is a huge plus. Manager was excellent with my sons beyond burger. He fixed himself due to the food allergies he has. My son ate his whole burger which is rare for him to do. My friend and I drove over 100 miles from Birmingham to come to Auburn to try BurgerFi while my other group of friends drove an hour from Columbus, Georgia to all meet here since we were told it was really good. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the food nor the service here. The cashier "couldn't hear anything we said under our masks" and basically upcharged each of us for the more expensive items he could find on the menu. How convenient for him....I wanted to order the single classic burger. He upsold it and gave me their double burger. I don't like ordering large portions at places I have never tried before in case I don't like it. He also tried to get me to add cheese on my burger. Like I said, I just don't like people that try to up-sell their products especially when I have never been here and don't know if I even like your food yet. The veggies on my burger were fresh, and I did like the bread, but the hamburger patties were so dry, so I definitely did not want two of them. Overall I paid about $10 for a burger and a water so it wasn't cheap either considering you can usually also get a side for that price. If you're in Auburn, please get yourself a burger and fries! They accidentally charged us for an extra serving of fries and brought it out to us and we said that hadn't ordered it. Five stars? Yup. This is definitely a five star burger joint. As we walked in, we were greeted immediately and handed a menu. It was borderline overwhelming, but I thumbed through it pretty quickly. There are tons of options that look amazing. You can even build your own burger. I went safe with the Burgerfi Burger and cry & fry (mixed onion rings and fries). The burger had two patties, but wasn't huge. It was so dang tasty. you can order the fries "well done," which means they come crispy. I also opted for vinegar and salt. Amazing! My first time at BurgerFi and I ordered the Breakfast All Day Burger with regular size Fresh Cut Fries. It was definitely filling and more than enough for one person. My roommate came along with me. She ordered the BurgerFi Cheeseburger with Cajun fries. She also later ordered one of their concretes; she's been here several times so she knew what she wanted. My burger was pretty good; juicy and tender. My fries on the other hand were somewhat darker colored and most were stuck together. I'm not sure if that's how the fries were suppose to look if they were freshly cut. I would have to say, I had better fries elsewhere. The soda machine is cool, although I had water as my drink. The decoration for the restaurant is nice. I really like the huge ceiling fans, with lots of blades, that they have. There was a long table with old-style/vintage chandelier and cool light bulbs for group parties, which I thought was an awesome idea.
