Started with some hot pepper cheese bites. They are great. I got the Big Cheese burger. Burgers are 1/2 lb. Nice. I was trying not to get all fried stuff so I tried the baked beans. Wife tried a turkey burger with the Bramblett. Everything was good. Service was very attentive. Fun atmosphere.

Niffer's Place Auburn-- is the place to be. I was in town visiting family and we decided to go over to check out the Auburn campus and grab a bite to eat. Niffer's was highly recommended. We were able to snag a spot on their screened in patio! What a lovely spot. It seems they have a plethora of seating with the option of hosting large groups! Beer selection was on point. The menu has something for everyone! Loved some of the southern dishes offered and all the burgers/wraps/sandwiches looked stellar. My buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato fries hit the spot! (There's a sweet lunch menu served Monday-Friday) Our waitress was super attentive and knowledgeable. Food came out quick, correct and prepared well. Next time I'd aim to come during Happy Hour for $2 tallboys (4-6pm, M-F) or burger night for a $9 burger/side (Thursdays, 5pm-close). Niffer's is the place to be!

The food here is so tasty and worth the hype! I had the Mushroom & Swiss Burger with the Turkey Patty and add onions & peppers. So so tasty and I loved the flavor of the Turkey Patty. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the server didn't come to the table for over 10 minutes at the beginning of our meal but I understand that things happen.

Incredible- no notes- friendly staff- we also have the Buffalo chicken dip. Finished in minutes.

Good casual spot to have lunch. We all enjoyed our plates. Service was also good. Will definitely come back.

The burgers were well seasoned and each of them were delicious. We ordered the black and blue, the nifiraious, and the pimento cheese one. The fries were not hot and they give a small portion. The Cajun fries are dusted with blackening seasoning, tossed out of the frier would have been better. Canned beer will run you 5 to 6 dollars. The server was nice.

Went here for lunch and got the Reuben and it was fantastic. I sat at the bar and the service was great! This is a cool dive. Definitely will be back.

Recommended by an Auburn alum, I braved the local joint while donning my UoA visor and backpack.... Rec'd the anticipated good natured ribbing and they didn't make me eat outside Lots of burger topping options, I chose one "not on the menu", but was in another Yelp review: "Philly cheese", and they easily obliged. I even asked for it to be medium well, and it was cooked perfectly: I believe it was hand patted, or at least looked like it...which is a huge plus in my book Pics of the fries on most reviews showed "steak cut", but I was told (and what I got) they don't have that cut and now it's a thick curly like fry. Still decent and usual as fries go. Beer isn't on tap, but there's a variety to choose from in cans. Servers seemed to be college aged and seemed to willingly help each other out, attentive, and the place was "semi" busy on a random Monday afternoon (post golf at RTj) Def glad for the recommendation and I concur to others. Oh: I was told to try the corn nuggets. I did. They were ok. Nothing spectacular though

A friend & I got to drop in for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The decor hasn't changed much - it's still comfortable & clean. There's free parking in the front & sides of the building. Love: service (kind, helpful); lobster egg rolls (crispy, delicious filling); turkey wrap (soft lavosh bread, dip in honey mustard & tzatziki); sweet potato chips (best in the restaurant game); toffee cake (moist, added praline pecans for crunch)

Garrett suggested Amsterdam for lunch. Located near the Auburn campus, Amsterdam is one of more well known eateries off campus. Students may not have eaten at Amsterdam, but most can point you in the right direction. I've been tricked by appearances before but Amsterdam is in a category of its own. There's a front and a back part of the building. But I didn't know that until we were led to our table in the back. The front part is a typical "smallish" restaurant with tight booths and tables. The decorations of impressionist painters adorn the walls giving the front dining room a warm inviting feel. When we were led to our table, I thought I was being led to the restrooms. We actually went past the restrooms down a small flight of stairs and into another large room. This beautiful back room was oozing the "hidden wine cellar" vibe throughout. There were tables and chairs in the center with smaller tables and chairs lining one wall and booths on another. Then there's a large full service bar lining the 3rd wall and a workstation on the 4th wall. The ceiling with hanging panels of wood moved the light beautifully and impressed me. There was also a large floor to ceiling wine rack next to our 4 top. Gary tried their Omelet. Three eggs served with conecuh sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. With the sourdough toast, the plating was immaculate. I didn't get to taste it, but Gary didn't have any deiicions/ Garrett opted for their Brunch special: Apple & Pecan Freeman toast. When it arrived to our table, we immediately noticed the large slices of French toast. As promised, the French toast was topped with slices of peaches and apples and butter brown sugar with white powder sugar as well. Again I didn't get to taste, but I savored it with my eye. Paul and I tried the Amsterdam Burger. He got some fries as his side, but I upgraded my side to a beautifully plated side salad. With the added fried egg, my patty was grilled to a perfect medium with just a hint of pink. Stacked with it was some lettuce, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, spicy pickles, tomato and their traditional burger sauce all squeezed together between 2 bun halves, it has to be stabbed with a long food pick to hold it together. It was juicy, tasty and just Yom Yom Yom Yom. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Other notable menu items include fried brussels, lobster egg rolls, rum salmon, breakfast croissant, snickerdoodle pancakes, steak & eggs, egg white omelet and shrimp & grits. I was told their Crab Cake & Avocado is to die for. Meal prices are on the high end but Amsterdam understands how to elevate Southern comfort food.

There's a particular kind of joy in feeding your college kid something that didn't come from a…read moredrive-thru window or a dining hall steam tray--and this place delivers that joy in butter, spice, and just the right amount of indulgence. Tucked into Auburn's dining scene with an upscale-casual pub charm, it's become our daughter's favorite spot to "take us" when we visit--which tells you everything you need to know. After a semester fueled by ramen and an alarming quantity of Chick-fil-A, she heads straight for the spicy penne crowned with perfectly cooked filet medallions. A wise choice. They don't take reservations, and yes, you may linger outside awhile on a busy night. Stay. It's worth it. For those of us with Gulf Coast roots, the menu reads like a love letter: blackened catfish done right, crispy crawfish tails, and cheese-laced grits that feel like a warm welcome home. The fried green tomatoes are a standout--golden, crisp, topped with grilled shrimp, and finished with a balsamic glaze that somehow works beautifully, even if it strays from tradition. The shrimp and grits, the catfish, the pasta--all hits. Cheesecake for dessert, especially if you're loyal to a graham cracker crust, is non-negotiable. Dim, cozy, a little whimsical (don't skip art in the hallway to the bathroom), and staffed by people who seem genuinely happy you're there. We'll be back. Often. --Chance & Becky *All Ahead Slow*

I started off with the Moon Over Madagascar, and let me tell you--if this drink had a fan club, I'd be president. The black tea and vanilla combo sounded like a weird dare at first, but it ended up being shockingly amazing. Whoever came up with that mix deserves a bonus and maybe a parade. Now, let's talk about the shrimp and grits, because these were not just "good." These were "call your mama and tell her you've tasted greatness" good. The chef is from South Carolina, and you can taste every bit of Lowcountry pride in that bowl. Perfectly cooked grits? Check. Pile of blackened shrimp? Double check. A sauce that made me rethink my entire life? Oh yeah. If they sold that sauce by the gallon, I'd be bankrupt but extremely happy. Erica, our waitress, was an absolute rockstar. Super helpful, incredibly informative, and somehow managed to keep the perfect balance of friendly and professional--even on the Sunday after the Iron Bowl, when half of Auburn is stress-eating. The place was spotless too, which is impressive considering the emotional damage that game causes every year. Bottom line: The Hound is a must-visit. Come hungry, order boldly, and thank me later.
