Ok. This place has so much atmosphere to offer, nice sitting areas, reading materials, decor but the service needs to be improved. I get there at 5pm and my favorite coffee ran out of the thermus. I told the clerk nicely but she insisted there is plenty there for two large coffees when the thermus is clearly huffing and puffing little drips of coffee and I only have one large coffee. She took a sigh and said it will be seven minutes... I agreed. I waited more like ten because it got busy after seeing she was trying to avoid me so I finally stood in front of the crowd to signal I am waiting. The brewer clearly stopped brewing. So she took her sweet time and said to me there is still more coming out it will be a minute.... Finally after like 15 minutes she fills back the thermus and has a terrible look in her face. Very bad service..... My advise is that this place needs to hire people who are willing to offer good service. A smile and good willing goes a long way. I have not been back ever since... read more

i went there to get a smoothie and a bagel and the place was nice and it also had quick service they play some music and they also have couches and chairs by the windows if you want to see outside and some other seating inside and also some seating outside when it is nice and when people want to sit outside and enjoy the day. I would highly recommend going to this place they are so nice and I love them and that was the first time I have ever been there and I already love it I am planning on going there a lot now that I know how great their service is. While I typically love the brand Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters, I had a profoundly negative experience there today with a young barista who messed up my order. In my opinion, she should have made it again. Instead, she gave me attitude and told me it was too late. I much prefer the service at the Greenfield and Shelburne Falls locations. Cozy, warm, inviting, hospitable. Good coffee too. Last week we arrived just before closing time. The staff let us take our time ordering, and didn't hustle us out of the shop. They didn't even blink when my son spilled his whole cup of hot chocolate--they cheerfully mopped it up and gave him a replacement. Stop here--don't continue down the street to their competitors! Making good coffee is important, but kind customer service is much more rare and special. read more

The bacon egg and cheese was just like you'd make at home but what made it extra tasty was the bagel I chose to have it with: jalapeño and cheddar. Decent bagel, tasted fresh and soft and just the right amount of heat. The downside for me was the iced coffee. It was pretty burnt tasting and I disliked the flavor. Maybe ill a stick to hot coffee next time which they have many flavors of. read more

Very disappointed in the service we received this morning. We have come here before during the week and people here have been friendly and the service has been excellent. But today we were very unsatisfied. We arrived a few minutes after opening and ordered a toasted pumpernickel bagel with light cream cheese, a Hadley breakfast sandwich, and two heath mocha frozen expresso blenders, one with an extra expresso shot. The woman who took our order was not pleasant and seemed very miserable. It took a full half hour for our items to be made. People came in after us and were served before us. Several customers came in and left with their sandwiches and drinks before we got any of our items. We finally got our drinks and they did not have whip cream or the mocha/caramel drizzle. When we asked about it, she said "we don't do that here". I order this drink several times a week and I know it is something they regularly do here. Fine. We asked which one had the extra expresso shot. More attitude from the same girl. Maybe she's having a bad day. Fine. We leave and drive home. Open my bagel and it's not toasted and has extra cream cheese. The Hadley breakfast sandwich was an off color and made my friend sick afterwards. The usual women we interact with during the week were not here and I had never seen these girls before. Usually the staff here are pleasant but today was over the top. It seemed like she didn't want to be there early Saturday morning. Unacceptable all around and we will not be coming back. Hadley and Northampton have much better service and are more consistent and so we will drive the extra distance or visit the Dunkin down the street. EDIT: Decided to give this place another. Went on Sunday around noon. One girl (Cate) working. I ordered a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese and a frozen heath mocha expresso blender. The bagel was warmed (definitely not toasted) with heavy cream cheese, and the expresso blender was not even frozen. It was a watery drink with huge ice chunks. The only Shelburne Falls that can correctly make this drink is the main location in Shelburne. Disappointed again and will not be coming to this location anymore. read more

I drink decaf for health reasons and I find the decaf, in the very early am, is not freshly brewed!

Let me start out by saying that I now live in Easthampton, but I have lived in the area for my whole life and I love visiting all the other locations of SFCR. The coffee is the same, but they lack in all other aspects. Not sure why, but they don't seem to be able to make a BLT sandwich at lunch time without putting an egg on it? It happened 3 out of 4 times I ordered the sandwich, which is on their lunch menu. I finally gave up on lunch there. Very unfriendly staff, but after I was told today that they wouldn't make an iced latte since they were "shutting the machine down because it was 10 minutes before closing"; I have finally given up on them altogether. I live a short walk from this location, and I love to walk in town when possible, but I will either drive to one of the other great locations or go elsewhere to avoid constant disappointing experiences at this location. If you are looking for subpar service from perpetually unhappy folks, then this is the place for you! read more

Been here many times over the years and the ones in Hadley and Northampton. The regular coffees (the ones you pour yourself) are very good but the specialty drinks can be inconsistent depending on who is working. Had a very watery cappucino today, that was filled to the top of the to go cup with milk/water. Maybe they used 2% milk instead of whole (not what I asked for)? I've ordered iced chais and they too can be watery. They are very happy to redo things though if you ask. The baked goods are usually very good though, including the scones and muffins and pastries. The cooked items can also be a bit inconsistent. Ordered a Hadley to go today and it was pretty bad. Inside, the sandwich was a strange color, gray really. The egg had grey/green in spots and burned on the edges. Ended up tossing it out. I've had these in the past and they were very good, so maybe they're having an off day today. It's a very nice place to sit and relax, work, and read though. The staff are very friendly at all locations. I'll keep going back because of the nice atmosphere and nice people who work and go there and because when it's good, it's very good. read more
