Speaking to Mr. Bishop I immediately discerned that he was a caring man and obviously long experienced having empathy for those suffering peril and loss by incidents of storm damage. In my conversation with Mr. Bishop he stated to me that while his Company had some 40 jobs ahead of us that he nonetheless would make every effort to work us into the schedule asap. Hearing this from Mr. Bishop did not surprise me as in my research I had found that that Abrams Roofing & Sheet Metal was in fact legendary in the industry known for delivering a high quality product with a priority emphasis on customer satisfaction. Further, I experienced first hand that Abrams was excellent in their follow through with an admirably disciplined work ethic that I found exemplary. Further, I discovered too that Mr. Bishop is part of a military family that is Abrams and subsequently at its very core a disciplined mindset. Specifically, Company Founder Mr. Victor Abrams is a retired US Marine Corp Sergeant and Mr. Bishop as well a retired Sergeant serving the US Navy. Accordingly and in a workman like manner, Abrams replaced the guttering across the entire front of My Mother's Home and did so with unparalleled craftsmanship. When they were through with the job you would have never known they were even there as the work site was exited broom clean. What's more, upon completion, they sent to my Mother a lovely Christmas Card and thanking her for the opportunity to perform the work. When I visited my Mother afterwards she showed me the card and made the single statement, "Now that's Class". I hired Jim Burkhead to inspect my home on October 29th, 2025 before purchase. His report said the…read moreroof and moisture conditions were satisfactory. Within days of moving in on November 19th, our contractor found severe hidden issues: active roof leaks, soaked insulation, wood rot, mold in the walls and ceiling, and improperly installed metal roofing where sunlight was visible through gaps. Repairs cost $3,600. I first sent Jim photos and videos showing some of the discovered damage on November 21st and received no response. I then sent even more photos, as well as the contractor's report on Dec 22nd, 2025. For weeks he ignored my emails and texts, then repeatedly tried calling me to "talk on the phone" instead of addressing it in writing like I had requested numerous times. I gave him a written deadline to refund the inspection fee of $750 or I'd file a complaint with the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors; he missed the deadline and still hasn't taken responsibility. The inspection report also omitted basics such as the HVAC system details, detailed roof description, main water shut-off, and electrical panel. Buyers beware! My experience shows why it's critical to hire an inspector who fully documents findings and stands behind their work.
