I ordered a pizza using the app Slice and when I got to Shelby's to pick it up, the gal at front said she canceled the order. I was told they had a private party going on. Note: there was one table with 8-10 people sitting inside. One table on patio with 2 people. There were 3 employees standing at front counter!? Shelby's website said they were open. I called Slice and they said that Shelby's was closed? I said I am here right now they are open. ?? In talking to several of my neighbors it appears this is happening to others. They have experienced the same treatment order pizza on the app Slice and get to Shelby's only to be told they canceled it.?! I would suggest if Shelby's doesn't want to go orders communicate that so folks are aware. Cancel the Slice app. I did call Slice corporate to report. I have referred many customers to them, unfortunately I will not be doing that anymore. Extremely poor customer service! read more

I've been wanting to try Shelby's for years and finally got the chance during my last visit to Tubac for the festival of the arts. We apparently came in through the back entrance and the woman who "greeted" us was more than a little rude in telling us where we were supposed to wait to be seated. We were hungry, so we decided to stay, despite the uncomfortable encounter. The staff seemed resistant to merging two tables so our whole group could sit together, so after a few minutes of watching them talk about it but take no action, we offered to sit at two separate tables and were finally seated. We all ordered at the same time, but one of our table's food came out much faster than the other, which was odd. My grilled basil pesto chicken sandwich was very tasty and the fries were also good. The patio was lovely and we enjoyed the musical performance. If it wasn't for our initial staff encounters, it would have been a five-star experience. read more

Was able to stop by this lovely bistro while at the Tubac Festival of Art. It has indoor and outdoor seating and the weather was perfect to sit out on the patio. The live music playing outside gave it great vibes. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich and the chicken was cooked perfectly. It was so juicy. The sweet potato fries were good as well. I could tell the staff were a little overwhelmed with the number of customers, but overall they did a great job. I will be visiting again! read more

I had a delicious jalapeño hamburger and my husband had yellow curry sandwich which was super yummy! The service here was great, they were attentive and so friendly!!!! What no Mediterranean pizza!?!? I was taking my friend here for that pizza and they only had gluten free pizza. So burger and fries and cheeseburger and coleslaw... great service. Nice indoor seating since it was too hot for the seating in outdoor patio. read more

This place is a unique corner in Tubac, AZ. Great non-franchise restaurant serving pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. It was slightly hidden and off the main road so map helps find it. The Shelby's burger was tasty, juicy, and just about perfect, accompanied by sweet potato fries. We had lunch in patio area and there was pleasant live music, too. Very friendly service and reaxed ambiance. Overall, I would definitely enjoy another burger traveling around the area next time. read more

My sister and I stopped at Shelli's Bistro Monday afternoon after a trip to Nogales and Tubac, arriving at approximately 2:15. We have dined here before, great food, good service, no issues, even during their busy days of Tubac's February Art Festivals. Yesterday was very different. We were seated outside, where four tables were finishing up. Most tables were empty. Waitress was very nice, took our order, two Greek salads, one glass of Chardonnay. We received waters and the wine, then sat and waited. And waited, and waited. Several servers walked by; our server said she checked and food would be ready soon. Waited some more. Finally, we figured they had forgotten us. Finished the $9 glass of wine, left a ten dollar bill on the table, and decided to leave. My sister opened the door to tell them we couldn't wait any longer. As we walked away, a large woman aggressively burst through the door and loudly yelled, "I'm calling the police!" I responded that we left cash on the table for the wine, and we continued on our way. It was the most unsettling experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. It was overall a very strange experience, especially the yelling-at-us part. read more

Shelbys Bistro is the perfect spot for a light snack while you are in Tubac. We accidentally stumbled upon it and were dying for a shady area during a hot spring late afternoon. Shelby's has a lovely covered patio and also a small restaurant for inside seating. We wanted to people watch so we opted for the outside covered patio which was truly lovely. Service was 5 stars friendly. Everyone was really nice and due to the hot weather they always ensured our ice teas were filled and we were checked up on an appropriate amount of times. The food is a solid 4 stars. Everything was good but nothing stellar. All fine for a casual lunch in this small tourist town. We split a pepperoni pizza and a lunch salad. Both were good and hit the spot. I'd say If your in the area and looking for somewhere to stop that's adorable and quick - this is a good lunch spot to try. read more

My husband and I went for lunch and waited patiently to be seated. The signage did warn patrons to "be patient" when waiting to be seated, so we understood. When seated we quickly received menus, water and our drinks. We waited quite a while when a different server finally took our order. Although it didn't seem very busy, our food took a while to arrive (a Bistro salad and a cold Turkey sandwich). Once the food arrived we both were very happy with portion size and quality. The bus person was attentive and filled our water glasses as needed. However, waitstaff was less than impressive. Neither of the waitstaff we had touched base to see how our food was or if we wanted another drink. We finally flagged one down to get our check and ask for a box to take home leftovers. Again we waited and got our check and again asked for a box. Still nothing and the bus person came and we asked him for a box and he quickly brought it...again he was much more attentive than the waitstaff. Because to food was SO GOOD, we will return and hope service will have improved. It's worth a little wait! read more

Walking around Tubac, we stopped in here for a cool cocktail. It is incredibly quaint and charming. There was both indoor and outdoor seating, we chose outdoor in the shade even though it was 100 degrees. Our server was very friendly and attentive. It appeared that he was the only server... may have even been an owner? Ordered a Mango margarita and Michelada w/Pacifico. Both refreshing as we enjoyed a beautiful Sunday, albeit a hot Sunday. The menu for food looked REALLY good and from some of the comments at other tables, I would guess it was pretty tasty. I really enjoyed the sandwiches we ordered at Shelby's Bistro-not only for the tasty ciabatta buns but the sides! Delicious coleslaw that was spiced just right w a touch of Mayo. Sweet potato fries were gone fast-I only got one and if they wanted to put more on the plate we wouldn't have complained. The sandwiches themselves were fairly straightforward-roasted turkey on a ciabatta roll w smoked gouda, fresh spinach, avocado and tomato. It had a garlic mayo spread as well but I didn't taste the garlic (maybe that's a good thing?:). My guy got the grilled basil pesto chicken sandwich that I got to try - also delicious - but didn't come on the bread they say on menu (maybe they ran out of rosemary focaccia rolls so they swapped it for the ciabatta I got as well). Mine was supposed to be a cold sandwich but they toasted mine too. It was still good though, but if you say cold on the menu-make it cold. Pretty good service, and a relaxed atmosphere with music on the patio. If you're up for a $15 sandwich (not cheap but it's Tubac so that's pretty much the norm) it'll satisfy your craving and you can look around the cute shops afterwards. I'll go again for a burger, pizza or salad. It all sounded delicious. read more

I was going to give this restaurant two stars, but reading the other reviews, I am not alone in my disappointment here. I do not know why so many locals think this is the "go to" place to eat. Been there twice now and each experience was the same: sub-par. Lousy service. Lousy food. No wait person ever came to ask how our order was, or did I get a refill on my iced tea, which I would have much appreciated. This was our first time visiting the area and we decided to have lunch at Shelby's Bistro based on great Yelp reviews. First, we were thrilled that they were open, then happy to see staff wearing masks like we were. Our waitress was efficient & friendly, and we enjoyed the pleasant decor and music. Our Mediterranean pizza and Caesar salad were sights to behold, besides being absolutely delicious! This was a great dining experience, especially since we've only chanced eating in a restaurant 2x since March. Home Run!!! Been meaning to eat here for a while and finally did... I had no idea what I was missing! The Tequila lime chicken wrap with the AMAZING sweet potato fries was super... Gf had the cucumber tomato chicken salad with avocados...fantastic!!! Tried the drink specials, a raspberry mint islander and a pina colada ( i swear, all i could think about while drinking that was that old song, lol) Great atmosphere, would bring people i like here for almost any occasion.
