I haven't eaten here in years, and prefer to drive to green valley/sahuarita which is a 15-20 minute drive, or even Tucson which is a 40-60 minute drive if I want to eat out. That should tell you a lot. The atmosphere and decor is nice, but that's not the main reason you go somewhere to eat. It's for the food. And the food here is subpar, bland, and too expensive for what you get. They need to either overhaul their menu to make sure the foods quality matches the price, or reduce the prices a lot. We came here today to celebrate a birthday with friends. There were only a couple of tables occupied. Emmy was our server and I have no complaints on service. It was the Friday fish & chips I wanted. Emmy said they looked delicious today. Well, I should have had something else. I wish I had taken photos, but didn't. 3 small pieces of heavily battered fish, with very little actual fish - less than 2 ounces, but lots of fried batter. The fries were okay, the cole slaw was okay although I have never had black beans in coleslaw. I ordered ice tea, and it was very pale, very little flavor for $3.75. My friends all ordered water only, which I should have done. Fish $19 - worth less than $10. Tea $3.75, with tax and tip it was $30 just for me! My friends seemed to be okay with their food. On had a Caesar salad, which looked good. One had a French Dip, which needed more meat and one had a Rueben sandwich (without the bread - celiac). They were out of potato salad which she requested. My birthday friend had a birthday balloon attached to her chair, but I had to ask if there is something they do for a birthday dessert. She got a brownie sundae which was decent except the brownie was so hard she couldn't break it apart with a spoon. Last time I was here, I had a decent meal, I wished I remembered what I had. It took awhile for the kitchen to get the food out. At the most, 8 people in the restaurant. We enjoy the longhorn grill and saloon. We prefer to sit at the bar. They have a good selection of drinks, the food is decent. It's typical bar food, burgers and sandwiches etc. Good portion sizes. Have only gone during the day/early evening so not sure what a dinner rush would look like but it's usually not too busy. The interior is cool and obviously the bull head out front is fun for a photo shoot. Would recommend. read more

This place is as average as you can get. The one thing that I loved is my ribeye steak and mashed potatoes. The southwest rice was hard and crunchy. The seasonal vegetable was brussels sprouts but some people in our party did not even touch it even though I thought it was tasty. The service was OK but they tried hard to accommodate the group of 13 of us. The food came out at very different times and ironically the people who ordered the bowl and a pork sandwich got their dishes well after the rest of us who ordered steaks and tri tips. Hi there! Went to Amado longhorn with family for a steak house meal today. The restaurant was not busy at all, so we got seated right away. In fact, there were only four table including ours eating. we ordered and had our drinks brought to us. The other three tables finished, paid, and left as we waited and waited. About 20 minutes later our server brought the 3 soups that came with the meal for 3 or the six of us. Another 20 minutes passed, and I noticed that the ice that was in our drinks 40 minutes earlier had all but melted. As I looked around the empty dining room, I noticed the tables from the other customers that had left were not buses yet. At that point I went to our server and canceled my plate. The rest of my family did finally start to get their food almost 50 minutes after we ordered. So, if you do have an hour to kill before you are ready to eat this is the place for you. Just bring a book because the internet in Amado is just as slow as the service at the Longhorn Steak House. read more

I've noticed a number of very negative reviews and thought I'd post my experience as a counterpoint. I've been here twice now and really enjoyed it. The food has been great. I've had the brisket sandwich and the chicken cheesesteak thing. Both were very good. Companions have had the Memphis ribs (excellent), and the beef ribs (very good). Sides, particularly the campfire beans, were very good. Service was friendly and attentive both times. And you get enter through a giant steer skull!!! The burger was perfection, medium rare, and obviously flame grilled. Couldn't tell if grill was wood-fired or just gas. We split the burger. Fries were ok. Coleslaw was meh. Needed mayo and it had some kind of southwestern? Something in it which was off putting. Overall this place is GREAT for burgers. The burger made me think that they grind their own meat or something. When we go to the restaurant The Host told us she cannot take us right now. (We were party of two) and told us to go to the saloon section. We walked past the main dining room there were at least four empty tables and we did not see any reservation signs or anything but FOR SOME REASON they didn't want us there. WHATEVER. We got seated in the saloon section, waited for about 15 minutes but nobody ever came so we left. If they were very understaffed, they could have at least told us they couldn't take us in the main dining area because they were short handed or give us some sort of explaining and we would understand. read more

What makes this place so amazing is the ambiance, the live music most weekends, dance classes, Ashley, and regular visits with friends. After ordering our food, it took 1.5 hrs to finally get it. The beef ribs came and were so dry with very little meat on them. We ordered a baked potato with butter and sourcream but got mashed potato with nothing on them. Our waitress NEVER came back to check on our food and she didn't even ask if we wanted another drink. I had asked for water and never got it until I had to ask for it again. We were seated a total of 2 hrs at the table. A friend told us about this place and we decided to try it on Friday night. We started in the bar and cocktails were fine. Decided to go to the dining room where we waited for someone to seat us. Finally I started back to the bar to ask if we should seat ourselves or was there supposed to be a hostess. The guy at the bar said take a seat where you like and I'll serve you. I ordered their Surf & Turf special which was a 4 oz steak and shrimp and my husband had the Friday Fish Fry. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and it came out charred and looked more like maybe 2 oz. The shrimp was tasty. We found this place by accident when we were in Green Valley. It was a fantastic find! Nisa was the best waitress and full of personality. The pulled rib hoagie was amazing! Went there on Sunday for dinner: - 15+ minute wait after we were seated for our server to come by. - Drinks came out 20+ minutes past ordering them, appetizers came out before drinks ever did. - Asked for our drinks no less than 3x's and was told that the bartender was busy. (Not that difficult to provide water and sodas) - Their menu has shrunk considerably since the last time we went. Prices keep going up and now they've started adding more MP pricing to standard steak options. $40 for a NY? Are you kidding me? - Was more funny than anything at one point, saw another customers table go into the kitchen to help themselves because the servers were nowhere to be found. They went in to grab plates to share their appetizer amongst the table. - Observed a sever stop by with a tray of food to a table, began handing out some, then left for 5+ minutes while the rest of the table didn't have their food. Was sad seeing the faces of the people at the table not knowing why their server left or what they should do. They eventually just started serving their own food. - Started charging a service fee to use a credit card, that's nice. - Oh yea, the final straw was when we saw the manager finally jumped in. He was for sure quick to seat new restaurant goers and make sure they got their drinks and food, but for those that had been waiting for long periods without service, he completely ignored them even with a couple of times trying to flag him down. Overall it was terrible. And before anyone says they were really busy, they WERE NOT. Less than a 40% occupancy in the main room combined with at least 2 tables walked out due to poor / no service. I have heard many good things about the Longhorn Grill & Saloon. I recently visited for lunch and it turned into a 2 hour ordeal. I ordered a Longhorn Burger, Potato Chips and a Diet Coke. I did request my burger to be rare. What I got an hour later was a cold burger that was burnt to a crisp and equivalent to a hockey puck. I had asked previously if the chips were homemade and was assured they were. What I received was cold soggy fries instead. No explanation, as to why to why the switch. I never received my Diet coke. Once I was done eating I waited for my check, asked for my check and after another 30 minutes I decided to go to the counter and pay my bill. Given my experience at the Longhorn Grill & Saloon, I cannot recommend this place. read more

The advertisement is misleading, & when you simply question them they'll delete your comment & block you. This restaurant has served my child RAW chicken tenders (thank God my daughter knew it was raw & alerted us). I've let a lot of things slide because it's the ONLY restaurant in our town which we support MONTHLY! (They also own 2 other resturants in town) & to be blocked over a misleading AD! is CHILDISH! All we wanted was a pizza, which the advertisement said it was AVAILABLE today (Sat 5/24) I know it's only available on Friday.... but the Facebook post said it was available TODAY SATURDAY. We called to place an order & it was for "Dine in only" but no where at all on the advertisement said that, so I commented how it a misleading... they blocked me for simply commenting their Ad was misleading. This restaurant isn't worth the hype. Spend your money in Tubac or somewhere who is apperceive of their customers. read more

We all enjoyed our Steaks which is a big deal when with your Mother-in-Law. We started with the Corn Nuggets which are a must try, the sauce that came with them was amazing. My biggest compliant (Need More) they was gone in seconds-LOL. The Cornbread came out in a miniature pan (cool), at first I was thinking not enough but turned out to be it was.
