We had Easter Brunch at Stables this year. The food was five stars as to variety, quality, and quantity. Particular favorites at my table were the tenderloins which were perfectly sized and cooked, the glazed ham, the shrimp, and chicken Marsala. The sides were varied and fresh. Plenty of desserts for every sweet tooth too. Service was good though not great as you might expect with a heavily attended event. Ambiance was also ok with overflow seating, as we were, in a meeting room and not main dining room. Still nice and convenient. All in, really a 4.5 star experience. My husband and I lived in Tucson for many years and visited Stables many times. We never had a meal we didn't love, and one special recipe was for Apple Chicken Stew. It had butternut squash and parsnips in it and was outstanding. After moving to CA and then NE, we found a "substitute" recipe, but we've never matched Stables version. We dine in this great grill several times a year. They have the best breakfast and great coffee. The view from the dining area out over the golf course is spectacular. The service is prompt. The resort itself is historical. Great place to stay as well. This the place the movie Tin Cup was filmed. Again the food is excellent and the service is top notch! We've dined at Stables a few times and have always had a great experience. My husband always goes for the burger, and I've enjoyed the pasta, appetizers, soups and salads (the Cowgirl Cobb and Tubac Flatbread are standouts.) We typically order to-go and dine in our room or poolside, but my friend and I opted for dinner on the restaurant patio during this last visit and it was perfect, thanks in part to some amazing live music. The service is great, price point very reasonable for resort dining and I've been happy with every meal I've had during my half-dozen or so visits over the years. There are plenty of great dining options in Tubac, and this is one of them. read more

Went to Stables Ranch Grille celebrating a dear friend's birthday. She chose the location. It was located within Tubac Golf Resort and the grounds and buildings were absolutely gorgeous. We were seated by the window, overlooking a pond and a lovely field with large trees. We ordered drinks, 2 martinis and a beer and then lunch. Drinks were terrific. Lunch was the Schitznel, a Burger and Chips and dip. Everything was delicious, prepared perfectly. Francisco was our server and was very attentive. My friend got to pick her free birthday dessert and we took it to go. We were stuffed. This place is a bit pricey but the setting is beautiful and so worth it. The bill came to $100.20 before tip. With a $7 beer and two $12.50 martinis, it adds up quickly. It was a lovely afternoon in Tubac. read more

We had dinner here after a beautiful day of golf. The hostess and weight staff were very friendly. We told them we were gonna be a little bit late to our reservation because the couple we had played golf with offered to buy us a cocktail afterwards the hostess said it wasn't a problem and to just let them know when we are ready. The cocktails were very good. I always love a great cocktail. We had salads for an appetizer and both were fresh and clean and paired well with their salad dressings. I had the salmon which looked delicious, but it lacked flavor and tasted very fatty. I substituted the rice for asparagus and asparagus was yummy . My husband pasta dish was satisfactory to him. He ate it all up, but my favorite part was dessert. Their specialty was carrot cake, which was good, but I enjoyed the peanut butter pie dessert, which was outstanding. Overall we had a nice experience. It was nice to have a place to go eat and relax after a beautiful day of golf. read more

The food is always amazing at the Stables!! My favorites are the beet and berry salad with protein, the grilled tuna sandwich, but the Wagyu burger is to die for. I love coming here when I'm in the area. The service is warm and friendly. Very accommodating and attentive. I love the ambience, inside and in the outdoor areas (depending what the temp is outside though!). In the cooler evenings they will have the outdoor lamps burn, along with the fireplaces while we listen to the live bands on the weekends. Love it!!! read more

Came in at 430 with a party of 5 for our dad's birthday. we got cocktails, sister asked for no ice in her Sangria, but instead, she got lots of it. we got the jalapeño with cilantro tequila drink. it came delicious, and refreshing with a nice rim. we ordered a bunch of appetizers. Ceviche, bacon shrimp, chips/salsa,ect. the salsa had absolutely no flavor, could barely taste the tomatoes. the mango slaw with the bacon shrimp was super good!! Our meals came out , and everyone enjoyed theirs, except me. i got the shrimp primavera. it had a lemon wine cream sauce; i asked for no cream to be put into the sauce. I get a dry, super bland $34 pasta dish. It was also missing the spinach it stated to have. I had to squeeze 6 sliced lemons over it, and salt/pepper it to be able to enjoy it. Head chef ended up making it the way i requested, so i sent it hime with my dad. Wish it was made correctly the first time!! service started out nice, then became super slow. never got water refilled until we were done eating, then they were trying to refill like crazy. Stayed at the resort and gave this place a try for dinner. Made a reservation and sat in side. Service was slow, but it was after a holiday so they may have been short staffed. We Started with the baguette bread, bacon wrapped prawns and potato soup. The the soup was good. Had chunks of cheese in it. I wish the bread was warm, I couldn't spread the butter on it. I had a blood orange margarita and a black and blue. I ordered a second black and blue, but it did not taste near as good as the first. I was told different bartender made the second one and they took it back to remake it a Third time, but even with third remake, it was not delicious like the first one. So beware, the drink recipes aren't consistent. For entrees, we each had Prawns & Smoked Andouille (House-made fettuccine, bell peppers, red onions, baby spinach, light white wine cream sauce). I requested chicken instead of prawns (expecting chicken and Andouille, instead of prawns and Andouille) but I only got the chicken. I think there was a miscommunication to the kitchen with my request from our server. I tasted a piece of my friend's Andouille and it was spicy, would have complimented the chicken well if it was made the way I requested For dessert I had the Wilcox Apple & Almond Crumble( praline pecan ice cream). I got it to go, to eat in my room, but it usually is served in a skillet fyi. The apple were cold, but The ice cream was good! I wish I had got a second scoop. read more

A great upscale restaurant to visit, reasonably priced, nice dining room, good service, nice variety!

Great food. Every dish we tried was excellent. We ate there several times during our stay at the hotel, and the only complaint was the 'rock room' and bar were so incredibly noisy during dinner, it was deafening. On subsequent visits, we dined outdoors which was much more pleasant, and we were entertained with all the golf hackers hitting their ball into the water as they attempted to make it onto the island green. Definitely will eat here again if we are in Tubac. read more

Went for late dinner (8pm) on a Wednesday. We were the only diners. Beautiful, rustic decor. Fun atmosphere. Waitress was attentive and we enjoyed a lovely dinner. I had the shrimp and it was tasty. The sauce was a bit too liquid. Friend had the short ribs. He loved them. So tender you could cut it with the fork. Fresh baked bread. Hot out of the oven with yummy whipped butter. Highly recommend. Favorite item was an Asian salad-- that wasn't. Tasted ok though. They have a wine list with bottles in the hundreds of dollars. But, they don't list the vintages, making it worthless. We were there for a wedding and were pleasantly surprised with the food. It was really good! We went there two days in a row and both our breakfast and lunch were fantastic. Highly recommend the home made potato chips--they were delicious. Service was also great. The only thing I'd say is that it's a bit overpriced especially the breakfast. If you're at the resort, it makes a lot of sense to eat at the Stables Ranch Grill. The building has a lot of character and history. The hostess and servers were very helpful and friendly but didn't seem to be professionals. I ordered a Sazerac off the cocktail menu. It was made completely wrong. It was shaken and poured in a martini glass. I could not smell any absinthe, and there was no peychauds bitters. I then ordered a Scotch neat, and it came out rocks. The bartending was amateur at best. My wife ordered the salmon, which was cooked properly but lacked seasoning. The brussel sprouts that came with it were dramatically undercooked. I ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop. It was the best bite we had. It was tasty and juicy. My broccoli side was ice cold. The bartending and food fell way short of our expectations at this price point. Stables, such a beautiful setting. What happened to the food? Here is a quote from my dining partner last night. "Hi you know I don't think I will go back to Stables. That was the worst dinner I've had in ages! And for the most money! Too bad. It was nice to be there." Our server was great and very attentive,kudos to her. Bar service was very slow but skilled and selection was good. She had a cosmo and a glass of Zinfandel I had a virgin Bloody Mary. We started with appetizers, she had the bacon wrapped shrimp with mango slaw (very good, l too tasted the slaw good). I had the flat bread also very good. She had the rib eye which she said was tough and stringy, but she ate half and did not send it back. I had the walleye, which was fishy smelling and had no eye appeal. I sent it back. I was offered another dish,the pork schnitzel and it was acceptable if not good as usual. (I took it home). Desserts: the apple pie with ice cream was very good, the chocolate flan cake was acceptable. Our server was put in a very difficult position with the sub par food, but she handled it high grace and skill. She was able to have the management discount the tough steak and she had them take the spoiled fish off the bill. Stables is definitely a great restaurant to stop at when staying at this resort or looking for something a little more refined while in Tubac. I decided to give this spot a try as I was impressed with their menu and the opportunity it gave us to check out the Tubac golf resort. Stables is weaved into the resort, it wasn't super easy to find but grounds staff were able to point us in the right direction. Once inside I was impressed with the restaurant and separate bar area. Since I had my doggie with me our only option to dine was the outdoor patio. The patio is a toss up for me and I probably would have preferred to dine indoors. The pros were dining on the patio had lovely views & the wood fire smoke smelt heavenly while outside. The cons were there were barley any umbrellas to keep you out of the elements and there were a grip load of bees near our table once the food came. The bees got so bad a table next to us took the food inside. I'm a little more understanding as we're in nature, it's the bees home, BUT if you are allergic I totally get it and opting for inside seating is probably best. The service was relatively good and positive. Our waitress this afternoon was lovely. Super sweet and as attentive as she could be with a busy patio. I appreciated that she was super bubbly and helpful. The additional wait staff we encountered were hit and miss. We asked once younger gentlemen for a side of butter when he brought our food out and he never came back. That's never a good feeling and doesn't warrant 5 star service. But that's just one person and we're grateful we had such a personal and kind waitress. The food and cocktails here in my opinion are definitely 5 star worthy. I started with a prickly pear mojito and it was super sweet (in a good way) and tasty. A very girly girly cocktail but exactly what I was craving. For our meals we both had tacos. There were carne Asada tacos and fried fish tacos ordered. My dish was the fish tacos and they were fantastic! The fish was super fresh and the batter was perfectly crispy and light. Also the portion was impressive. They don't skimp here which can be a problem with hotel restaurants, however we were super impressed with the quality and quantity. The tacos were perfection and worth ordering. I think all in all this is a great restaurant when in Tubac or when staying at the golf resort or nearby hotels. The food is exceptional and for the most part the service was pretty good. I will definitely be recommending this spot to my friends and look forward to another meal here in the future. read more

I'm sorry to say you can go to the Stables for a special evening but my wife and I spent $150 not including tip for a hamburger and pork schnitzel. We did both have two whiskey so that was $56 but wow the Tubac Resort is into making money. Sad. read more

Let's begin with the atmosphere: it is visually stunning. You get to eat breakfast on a beautiful patio and watch people golf while cows nap in the distance or drink from the pond. Food: the star of the meal was the pork! It was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The cons were that the eggs were all over cooked and the potatoes were bland. The pancakes were yummy. The server forgot hot sauce and we had to fetch our own salt and pepper all while my water glass sat empty. So service could be more attentive. It's beautiful and a great experience. Lunch or Dinner with a view? Well you're right on the golf course and you can see the free range animals across the way. I had Lunch with a friend after Trapeze Yoga which was only a 5 min drive from La Entrada de Tubac. We only had to wait about 5 mins to be seated. They have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating out front or in the back by the golf course. They have a bar towards the back which had a tv playing a sports game. We decided to sit outback and absolutely loved the view and weather. We started lunch by ordering the mocktails on the menu. My friend had the Hibiscus Ranch Water and I had the AZ Citrus Grove. I loved the AZ Citrus Grove because it had fresh squeezed lemonade, local honey, a splash of club soda and Seedlip Grove 42 elixir. I had never had a mocktail before but I am very impressed! For food we both ordered the Otero burger (medium well) which was a 8 oz Angus patty, Tillamook cheddar, hatch chili aioli, caramelized onions, lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. We had to add jalapeños and they were packing heat! The French fries were amazing. The burger was perfect! While taking a day trip to Tubac, my friend and I decided to stop at this restaurant for breakfast. I definitely would love to come back here as it is situated on a beautiful golf resort. I ordered the avocado toast served with heirloom tomatoes, scrambled eggs (you pick how you want your eggs served) and balsamic vinegar drizzled. The toast was soft and fresh. I opted for the potatoes with peppers and onions on the side as that was recommended by our server. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and absolutely tasty. Food is very good, however I find the younger staff not very good, training perhaps. One young lady dropped wine on my hand and table while pouring, just said she'd be right back to clean! While watching football, it was 8:30 pm and young lady just turned off TV, not even a sorry folks, we're closing, just turned it off and walked away. I had to ask for soup special, I forgot to as k for dinner special, but shouldn't that be part of the servers job? Only the older staff always gives us the special for the evening. Sunday nights are half off bottles of wine, how dare i forget, well I forgot to mention and when I was paying I said, "you forgot to tell me and I forgot to ask that Sunday you have half off bottles of wine!" server just said, "yeah we do, something to keep in mind!" so then I have to remember to ask for soup special, dinner special and that Sundays are half off bottles of wine, extremely interesting, i always thought these things were part of the servers job. And lastly, one time I ordered a plate with sauce on the side so that I can pour it, well, they did not bring me a spoon, I poured it right from small plate to my dinner plate, it was hot and I spilled it on my clothes, i got an I'm sorry, but they didn't take it off my bill and from then on the night was not good. It's an expensive restaurant and ambience is great, I just find the servers need proper training, It's not a fast food place by no means. read more

My wife's parents used to stay at the resort and for her sister's birthday we all had lunch at the resort's restaurant Stable's Grille. The atmosphere is very much southwest meets Bonanza. The bar has small tables with very dated chairs as well as saddles at the bar itself. The dining room overlooks the golf course with a more comfortable and inviting atmosphere. For lunch I ordered their equivalent to the club sandwich with very tasty fries. My wife ordered the tuna melt and seemed to enjoy it as well. Prices are reasonable and service is very relaxed. The manager comped the birthday girl a dessert of choice and our server brought it out with candies lit. The resort and restaurant were featured in the movie Tin Cup and for those that saw the movie will recognize landmarks. If your travels ever bring you to this area take a pit stop at the Tubac Resort and enjoy a meal at Stables Restaurant. I think you will be impressed. read more

I used to work at the Tubac Golf Resort and I would remember Stables would be packed on Friday nights and going there for dinner to celebrate Birthdays was always a good experience but we went there on Friday, September 19, 2025 and the service was slow, the drinks were not very good, I had the Prawns Primavera and the prawns were over cooked. We were in the Tubac area and we ventured onto this beautiful property because we knew there was a restaurant and we were hungry. The grounds of this resort beautifully Spanish-influenced. The restaurant looks nice and the waitstaff are also nice & professional. I recommend making reservations if you want to be seated in their lovely dining room, otherwise you'll have to sit in their bar area or front dining room, which are also nice. Our food was not anything spectacular, unfortunately. I had the bone-in pork chop and by itself it was pretty tasty, but the sides (a farro & mushroom dish, and broccolini) were not cohesive with it. The flavors were kind of all over the place. My husband ordered their salmon, and oddly enough, he had the same complaint about his dish. The fresh baguette was good. Their iced tea is amazing! First night in Tubac and this was one of the few restaurants serving food. We made a reservation for 7:00 pm, but we're told when we arrived that our table was not ready. The dining room was very busy and extremely warm. But fortunately we spotted a two-top in the bar area and asked if we could be seated there. The hostess said yes, so we grabbed that table. Chase was our server and he was very friendly and amiable explaining the town of Tubac plus the restaurant. Very helpful. After ordering drinks, we ordered our dinners. My wife had the lamb ragu bolognese and I ordered the ribeye dinner special. We both enjoyed our meals. After paying our bill and heading out, we encountered a javelina rooting around near the sidewalk. Obviously we needed to let him/her move on before we could continue walking. A little closer to our car, we encountered two more javelinas. Interesting to see these desert animals in the wild. A bonus to our experience at The Stables. read more

We were staying at the resort and hungry for dinner. Apparently to sit in the dining room area overlooking the grounds/golf course you do need reservations. Not a problem though because they had a ton of seating for us either on the patio, bar or the inside dining area that has a more lodgey feel. We were seated in a nice big booth. They were spacing folks bar enough apart and required masks. Big bottle of hand sanitizer at the front hostess station. Our server was a sweetheart, very attentive and friendly. We both ordered the Otero Burger. I indulged in a prickly pear margarita which was delicious! The burgers were SO good! loaded with condiments and super fresh; came with a hearty side of fries.
