Store is ok. The times I have been in the staff is stiff doing their job but it stops at that. Nothing more. I bought two chick here and the quality and up keep of them wasn't the best compared to the other surrounding places that sell chickens. Unfortunately they both died after a day of having them. Needed some Ammonium Sulfate for my lawn to spoon feed it some Nitrogen, and had heard feed store were a great place. To look at simple and cheap supply of the product. I checked my closest feed store first off of Bradshaw to no luck, and then called Sheldon Feed & Supply. And it turned out they had it in supply in 25 pound bags, and it was cheaper than the big box store (when I stock). I've passed Sheldon Feed & Supply on a number of occasions, primarily when going in and out of Wilton from Elk Grove. Being my first time inside I was sure what to expect, and shocked at all that they had. Sheldon Feed & Supply is jist your typical feed store for livestock, there's more like a general supply store that caters to the local farmer and or rancher lifestyle. Along with feed and supplies for all types of livestock, there surprisingly was also a large assorted of clothing at the front of the store. Once at the back of the store I ordered the Ammonium Sulfate from the you g lady at the register, and told me the bag would be ready out front at the loading area. Sp I waited out there for maybe 10-15 minutes, as other customers before me were helped. And then I was helped with my bag and out of there in not time. Overall: Will definitely be back to get more Ammonium Sulfate when the time is needed. read more

I cannot believe I've never found this gem of a business until Monday, 01.21.19. The business was easy to locate, plenty of parking, I was greeted upon entry into the business by two different employees who asked if they could help me and were super friendly. Ironically even the UPS driver who was delivering packages offered to help me. There appears to be quite a selection of men's and women's western clothing and shoes as well as some work clothing. There is jewelry and accessories, too. There is a variety of pet supplies including treats, food, leashes and more. There are also livestock items including salt licks, bridles, I saw a saddle, and more. All 3 young, maybe high school age girls working were busy, friendly and helpful. An older woman, maybe an owner, was super friendly and answered my questions and offered information such as the upcoming trade show they'd be attending. She was also busy arranging, cleaning and dusting; the shelves were well organized and dust free which is amazing for a business such as this. The pricing of dog food was $5 to $10 less than where I purchase it on-line. The pet and livestock feed is listed on a huge white board above and behind the cash registers. The business offers grain free dog food, fortunately for my brand, too. I also needed bails of straw. It along with Timothy and alfalfa hay were stored in a large barn. The hay smelled amazing, free of mildew or old, wet bails. I grew up on a ranch so I can easily detect that type of odor. The hay appeared to be fresh, top quality with grains and leaves. I don't live in the area anymore, but this store has been a go to stop when I am for a horse show. But I am writing this to commend the absolute amazing employees Greg, Ramon, and Cody. In picking up shavings with my horses in the horse trailer, my '78 Suburban wouldn't start. Five hours later, many attempts to jump and a AAA guy bringing a new battery not working, calling around trying to get a mobile mechanic, Greg went to O'Reilly's and got me a new starter on his break, Ramon checked out of work early and put it in (I helped!), and it still didn't start. The battery was dead because the AAA guy didn't check it. I had to leave it there. The next day I came back and put in a new battery and it still wouldn't start! Cody jumps in to look at it and I pointed out the AAA guy had sparked the battery and pointed to the wire where a puff of smoke came out. He pulls out a charge tester, checks everything working, and finds that the wire I saw smoke come from was burnt out. He jumps into the store, grabs a little wire, and the truck starts! I can't even begin to say how much money, time, effort, and angst they saved me in helping me, allowing my truck to stay there, and just being amazing people. I visited this store for the first time to make the purchase of a straw bale. They had them for about $10. You pay for it in the store, then the clerk radios the guy in back of the property that a customer is coming. You drive your vehicle back to where the stars is stored, and the guy loads it into your vehicle for you. Easy. The retail space within the building has various pet supplies and livestock supplies. There is a limited stock of cowboy boots, jean, western-ish shirts, etc for men and women. The space outside had bales of rice hulls, wood shavings, etc for lining the bottom of a pen or enclosure for animals. I saw watering trays, chicken coops, and other animal-care items. read more

They also have a selection of boots, western wear, western themed toys, tack, feed for all sorts of animals, hay, pet supplies. Trying to buy horse stall mats from a local store. They were more expensive but wanted to support local businesses. Called before I went in and they had horse stall mats. I get there and they no longer have them however, that isn't my gripe! When I asked for the mats the lady said, "what size?" I requested the 4x6 and she said, "we don't have that size!" I told her I just called and they said they had some in stock. She said, " WELL, I TOLD YOU ALREADY! WE DONT HAVE ANY!" I don't k ow what crawled up that ladies butt but you will never see me again. I have a lot of family and friends that live in Wilton and I'm sure they will no longer support you either. Tractor Supply sells the mats for $7 cheaper a mat anyways. Go there. Pricing was higher than other competitors, since I live in Wilton, thought it'll save me a trip to Petsmart in Elk Grove. Also, when asked for recommendations to a young lady who works behind a counter, instead of giving a recommendation or have another associate assist me, she then proceeds saying "not on top of my head." That's how you loose business. You are an employee there, poor excuse if you are lazy. I gave it a 2 star rating instead of 1 because the nice old lady was very helpful with good customer service, and the young man who brought the bag to me, the young Caucasian women needs to learn better customer service. It was my first visit and definitely my last. Not a good experience. read more

Not sure who was on the phone this morning, but I will say that is the worst customer service I have received from any pet supply store. I live in area and will very much be visiting the surrounding stores. Very short with words, didn't provide any suggestions, and hung up the phone before I could thank them for not helping. The last time I was here I waited 15 mins for my order because the girl working at the register forgot to call in my order. Today I was there and I had to wait for more than 10 minutes until I went inside to see what was going on. The girl at the desk couldn't answer that for me so I got my money back. I look around for a better price or selection and then I find that Sheldon Feed has the best selection and price anyway. Feed is fresh, they sell enough to rotate the stock and if it is not fresh just bring it back and they will replace it with no hassles. Feed, supplies, & more if you need it they will even order it for you. Lindsey, Suzie, and that Miley Cyrus look alike always take good care of you. I was able to get a humane cat trap from them so I could catch my lost cat. The trap worked. You can return it back after you use it but they take 20 or 25 dollars out of the amount you paid to purchase the trap. It was worth it in my opinion. Located off grant line road and Sheldon. read more

A client of mine who shops here regularly bought me some really cute jeans here. Unfortunately they were too small. I had to exchange them and found another pair in my size. The young lady that assisted me was very sweet and helped me pick out the style and size that I needed. Even though I was being extremely picky, she was quite patient. I was also unaware that this place closes at 3pm on Sundays and I had kept her there until 3:30 and she never even mentioned it! This place has everything you can think of for pets from vaccines, supplements, feed, tack. They do not have saddles in stock usually. They carry things for horses, cows, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and even hamsters. They also have a large clothing section for men and women, as well as a great boot selection. They have kids farm toys and a great selection of equine related home decor. The prices are mid range. Not as cheap as online stores or Walmart. The guys in the back were really helpful in choosing my chicks, but the ladies up front were rude and acted like I was bothering them, although they weren't doing anything else. I've also had to call a couple of times to ask questions, and every time I call, I get a rude woman/girl on the phone. He was patient with my lack of knowledge on farm animal (they are my dad's animals) and advised me on the necessary feed and medicine for my goat. I have 2 cats and used feline pine litter. Unfortunately arm & hammer bought the company and changed the litter formula. I bought mallard creek pine pellets here and they work as great as the previous feline pine litter. A 40lb bag was around $5.50, which was cheaper than bradshaw feed. Love the 60% savings! We went here to purchase grass hay for the animals of the Camp Fire and asked them if there was anything they would like to donate. They were extremely rude and denied any donations. I have been shopping here for years and they consistently disappoint me. I am not upset they declined to donate but I am mad about the constant poor attitudes. read more
