I scrubbed my car with the provided long handled brush & cleaner - 5 stars & why I went. 0 stars to the guy who pulled up as I was finishing & got out to say, "Can I help you? No rush or anything. No rush." Mind your own car, buddy. I pulled up to insert my card and it was taped off. Maybe post a sign at the drive through entrance "Cash or Code Only". 0 stars for lack of payment clarity and availability. On the +, the pre-scrub allowed my car to get an even better wash across the street at Chevron. read more

Paid $16 for terrible carwash. Dirt spots, windows left dirty. Whole carwash took less than 5 minutes. I thought I accidently pressed $8 wash by accident for the way the car looked afterwards. Prior carwash was far better. Won't be back. read more

Terrible, do not use this station . Terrible car readers , insane system, this place sucks!

So this place was a zero stars for me from the get-go. First, the machine doesn't take credit cards. Second, it only takes exact change of cash. Finally, the worst one yet, is that the brush didn't even touch any of the surfaces of the top of my car from the hood to the trunk. This is not a car wash, this is a car wet. Terrible! Zero stars! Prices are not the best, but it is Shell, so that is expected. I use this station only when I'm in the area. The carwash missed several areas on my car. Their fuel hoses are the shortest I've ever seen! LOL. They need to update them with longer ones. read more

I wanted a car wash today. I couldn't pay for it at the pump. Over at the car wash it would not take credit cards so I put in a $20 for a $12 car wash. Then the machine said it had no change. After the wash I went to the office and the guy told me I didn't have the right receipt. There went my $8. They are crooks. Don't go here at all. read more

Worst customer service and worst car wash. Today I went to Shell to get my car washed. I paid $14 for their premium wash, paid with a $20, and the machine did not dispense my change of $6, and only gave me a receipt to get my change at the cash register. I have done this before and was prepared to do the same, but the car wash broke down. I sat inside the wash for 5 minutes, and the machines did not start. I went into the gas station and informed the attendant that the car wash had broken down, and I would like a refund for the wash. He took my receipt and told me he could only give me my change of $6 since this was the only receipt I had. Another patron came in behind me, also stating the car wash was broken and wanted a refund. The attendant refused to give me a refund for the wash except for $6 "I was entitled to", since I had no proof of ever paying for the wash. I will not ever return to Shell due to their inability to meet customers in the middle for a refund about a problem on their side. read more

WORST CARWASH EVER. It will scratch your car and will not remove soap scum. Avoid at all cost.

Not much different as far as amenities than when it was a Chevron. The top tier car wash is pretty trash for $14 - though I feel that all these style of drive through washes should be the touchless style by now. The rubber brush things will mess up your paint regardless of what station or brand it is. This location doesn't have a visual timer on the dryer afterward. Customer service was... odd. "Have a nice day" was met with... "Sure." (?!) The convenience store is pretty limited but has most of the basics you would need. The vacuum machines require quarters but they were cool about making change. read more

First off the car wash did not do a good job cleaning my car for the 13$ I paid. Also don't go through this car wash if you don't want scratches and paint chips on your car!! I have only had my car for about a month and I just wanted to have it cleaned, this was my first time using this car wash. And now I'm dealing with scratches and paint chips all over my new car due to this terrible service, even on the roof. I know what my car looked like before going through the car wash especially because I just bought it! I did not have any these chips and scratches before I used the car wash and I know that for a fact. The staff did not believe me even though I called about six minutes after I was done with my wash and noticed the damage at home . The staff tried to tell me those scratches were not from their car wash and that I had them already. It made me me laugh out of frustration because how are you going to tell me what my car looked like before I went into the car wash if it's not your car and you did not even see my car before the wash started. I have contacted shell but still Please don't waste you time and money on this car wash!!! YOUR CAR WILL MOST LIKELY BE DAMAGED!! It's a gas station, simple as that. I needed to get my car washed today though, and thought Shell would be my best option since it was right next to the freeway anyway. However, a standard car wash cost about $6, which in my opinion is kind of pricey. They have squeegees before you enter the wash, so you can get the bird crap off your car before hand and you're likely to have a better job done by the actual wash itself. Get all the dried-on stuff off first. Apart from the wash, there are a ton of pumps, so even on a busy day, getting gas isn't much of an issue. read more

This shell station has the cheapest automatic car wash. This car wash does a good job for the money paid.

This pains me to write this review. I've been coming here for years to fill up my car and use the car wash. But the car wash doesn't seem to be working anymore since it doesn't wash off the soapy water. The attendant didn't want to give me a refund. Caught taking money from consumers. Second in line at the car wash I wait a very long time for the customer in front of me spending a warm summer evening in front of the keypad. I was very frustrated and wondered "how hard could it be to punch 5 digits." I see her thumb through her purse. Only later did I understand the meaning of her dance. Eventually, she made her SUV into the giant mouth of brushes and foam. Now came my turn. 9-9-9-9-9. No matter what number key I had pressed, the answer was the same: "9". I pressed "Call Attendant" ... silence. Now a car pulls up behind me. 9-9-9-9-9. The SUV is nearing the end of her wash. 9-9-9-9-9. I run inside the Shell. There was a single cashier. As soon as I said "Hi, the car wash key pad ..." she knew. "Let me guess, all nines?" With a pause, I smiled. She then informed me that management and cashiers denied ever hearing of such a problem. But she had known about it for some time. All she did for me was generate a new key code and suggested that I inform the next shift cashier. How does this help the customer? I ask myself. She tells me, "Its good for 14 days". Great. I leave for my vacation in 7. I run back, the SUV is gone. I try the new key code. 9-9-9-9-9. I jump in my car and drive straight through and head to the McDonald's next door. There, from the parking lot, we could see the gentlemen who waiting behind us. It was his turn to dance at the keypad. Last I saw of him was he running to the cashier with a line of cars behind his.. Six days later we return to the Shell. There was a line of at least four cars. It was a nice summer day, I sort of suspected a line. Then I noticed a customer repeatedly punching the keypad. There was no vehicle in the wash bay, only people standing in line waiting to hit their "9". I knew. Not fixed then, not fixed now. Much later I solved the mystery why it seemed to work for some customers and not others. I remembered the lady reaching into her purse. She had pulled out cash to pay for her wash a second time. Whereas, I paid for mine at the pump with a fill up. Fortunately, I paid for my gas and wash with my credit card. I am disputing the six-dollar charge and anticipate resistance from the station owner. He knows the scam he's running and won't let go a dime from profits he's enjoying. However, I have a 100% success rate winning disputes from underhanded merchants. EDIT: I did win my dispute with no objection. read more

Late night, approximately 12:30 a.m. On our way home to San Jose 3 of us stopped to use facilities, get drinks, etc. My two friends went directly for their drinks and I headed to the back of the store for the restroom, which is generally where they're located. I saw a door wide open and went thru it. Suddenly the employee said loudly "where'd she go?" My friend replied to the restroom. She shouted "She can't go back there!" Later my friend shared that she was confused and wondered, why not? I come out and the employee is now screaming , "There's a big sign on the door, says no customers allowed, employees only." Well, as the door was opened, the sign wasn't immediately visible. I turned around and literally had to move to an angle whereby I could read it. I calmly explained to her that the sign was not visible, but the employee resumed her rant, and yelled at all 3 of us, "GET OUT, I HAVE A RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE." AND PROCEEDED TO PRACTICALLY SHOVE US OUT THE DOOR. The employee quickly escalated the situation to a shouting match that could have been prevented. Her conduct was horrid and she should be called on her behavior towards customers. A store video will show the occurrence. Given, if the door had been shut, on reading the sign, clearly I would not have gone through it - however this was not the case. KEEP THE BLASTED DOOR SHUT!!! read more

I just want to let everyone else know. Since I started using this station and Valero on Vasco Road. I've had my credit card defrauded twice. I believe they both may need to inspect and upgrade their card readers/pumps to see if they are being used as credit card copying points. You may want to avoid these places. Valero/Shell, please inspect and replace your pumps asap! read more

Car wash is better now. The only thing that makes me angry is that every time I pump gas it asks me if I want a car wash and that's not the problem, the problem is that their system is old and slow so it will literally take you a whole minute from sliding your card to start pumping gas. read more

Don't try and use their vacuum. It takes your coins and they don't bother refunding you. Pretty sad that they won't refund the whole $1.50 when their machine isn't working. read more

While the car wash isn't the best, the customer service is outstanding. Judy is friendly to all who walk through the doors and takes the time to ask you how your day went. It's a great start to my day when I have to stop for gas on my way to work and I find Judy smiling behind the counter! read more

I've been going to this station and using their car wash for some time. They have cards with five squares that they give you, every time you get a car wash they stamp one of the squares, once all five squares are stamped you get a free car wash. Sometimes people forget their card, or can't find it, and they'll give you another one and stamp that one. And they've always let people use more than one card for a free car wash, for instance if you have one card with two stamps and another with three. Only fair. Last night, a little before 11 p.m., I went down to get my free car wash. I had to drive to work early the next morning, and wanted to get my car washed before going to bed. I drove across town to this location to get my car washed (these punch cards are only good at certain locations, apparently Shell stations are independently owned franchises), and I went up to the cashier and gave him two cards -- one with a single stamp on it, the other with four. I said "I'd like to use these for a free car wash". He looked at them, then got out his stamp and put a fifth stamp on the card that already had four. I figured he thought it was easier to turn in one card with five stamps than two cards with stamps equaling five. Then, to my surprise, he rang up my car wash and said "That will be $9.25." I said that the punch cards entitled me to a free car wash, and he said "No, you can get your free wash next time." He said people are only allowed to use one card, and I told him that they've always let people combine cards and that the very reason I had driven across town at that time of night was to redeem those cards and get my free wash. He said that since he had put a fifth stamp on the one card, that I could come back any time and use that card to get my free wash. He said I could even come back the next morning after 8 and get it! I told him I needed the car wash NOW, that I shouldn't have to drive back in the morning -- in fact I COULDN'T come back in the morning because I had to be to work early. I asked who the manager was and he said the manager's name was Alex, and that I could talk to him the next day. He kept saying that the card I had (which now had 5 stamps) was good for a free car wash and that I could come back anytime and get it -- but for some reason he was dead set against me getting then. And THEN was when I needed it. After I finish this post, I'm going to go on Shell's site and report this there. This was completely unacceptable, unprofessional behavior and I will not tolerate it. read more
