Interesting that this business didn't come up on a simple yelp search. The fact that their car wash is a joke may be part of the reason. Ok gas is typical price, no issue there. Actually used RR and found it clean though the soap dispenser was broken. But the biggest oh no, never again was the self service car wash. Needed a quick wash and $8 is totally fine IF my car is washed without my involvement (yeah, that's why people go to these self serve drive throughs, so they don't have to do anything). Though the wash was ok, the machine doesn't dry the car. I was lucky to have a towel in my trunk to dry my car. The clerk said that's it's a SPOT free wash. You tell me, is this spot free? Rode in for some gas...the card reader worked perfectly, as did the pump. My only complaint is the speed bumps around the pumps. Yes, they're painted yellow, but they still caught me unawares on the Suzuki GSX1250FA I was riding...you just don't expect speed bumps around pumps. read more

I just went to get a car wash ($7, $8, $9 are the prices) and I decided what the hell, I'll get the most expensive option, my baby deserves it. I just now got home and almost my entire truck hood is not clean, still has visible dirt. I understand these automatic car washes cannot clean every area well but seriously the top of a cars trunk, really!? In addition the wash I purchased included the "wheel blaster," needless to say there was still grime on my rims that once again should have easily been cleaned with high powers jet streams/water. I planned to go the full service place down the street but it was too early so I figured what the heck I will try it this time, I really needed a wash. For $9 I got a quick wash, car was clean, dried spotless with no concern, price was half the full service place and it was done in 5mins. U-Haul Service: Upon checking out the vehicle, I asked the guy to have only flat rate and gas/mileage, no extra charges, he confirmed he did it but didn't give me a copy so that I could see what the charges were. When I returned the vehicle, a second guy said I should leave the key and go. I said I wanted to finalize transaction and get a receipt, he made me wait long time until he would go with me to check the vehicle. Then he was playing with his phone and his computer, claiming that transaction was finalized but I didn't receive an email. I called customer service and after a long wait I could speak to a customer service representative. She confirmed that my account still showed that the vehicle was not yet returned. She called the guy and immediately the guy pretended that he solved the computer issue and he could finalize the transaction and give me a receipt while he was still on the phone. Then I received an email with receipt which showed I was charged an extra $5 for Safe Trip! I only drove 16 miles in the neighborhood altogether, I didn't need road side assistant. I didn't understand why the first guy confirmed that I had flat rate and gas/mileage only. Very bad experience, I spent an hour just to get a receipt and I was charged extra for something that I didn't need although I had asked to have no extra charges. read more

Finally I call her from my cell and she gives me a new number. I sit and wait for it to dry after another wash, it still doesn't dry. WORST CAR WASH EVER!!!! 1) No dryer whatsoever! Watermarks were left ALL over my poor benz! 2) Closed at night without any notice to customer until you drive through the long turn style entrance and see the pay kiosk. You can not just pass through the washer when it's closed either, God forbid that would be too easy. So you must reverse out the long curvy entrance and pray you don't scratch your rims against their stupid curve or back up into the obstacle course of poles. All of this could be avoided if the chain off the entrance, put a sign, or leg drivers pass through the shitty car wash. This Shell station has an automatic car wash. I take my car here at least monthly for a wash on the way home from work. It doesn't do a very thorough job of washing the car. Even with the most expensive wash option at $8, the brushless system can't clean into the tight crevices. The wheels aren't that clean either. But it is very convenient without having to deal with your own hose, bucket, detergent, etc. The gas prices here are significantly higher than the 76 station a few blocks down on Lincoln (see my separate review). read more

$5 For a wash. Does not really get any cheaper than that. I think it's also fun to sit in the car when the wash is going on. Bring your own towel or use the squiegies at the pump at least for your windows. In and out in 5 min. Most other washes can take an hour. read more

READ!!The reviews about this gas station makes a lot of sense now that I have been through a terrible experience. The cashier (Dipac) is extremely racist and rude. This shell is a retailer for U-haul, I came in for my reservation. He was quick to try and rush things, he took my card for payment, and it didn't work. So I reached in my wallet for another card and he was like "you need to move over now, I must take care of other people." I said "Excuse me Ive already been here for 10 minutes while you were trying to help me please try my second card." He rudely said no you don't matter I work for shell not U-haul. Right after that he said I want to refuse business to you because I don't like you. Keep in mind it says on the window U-haul retailer. I asked if he was racist and prejudice towards me and he nodded. He then kicked all the people out, I refused to leave because I called customer service to complain. He locked me inside of the shell for a couple minutes before he opened up an employee back door. Shell should be ashamed of having a man like this working for them. The overall ratings of this gas station more than prove shady business is going down. Dipac you're a terrible person and you should be ashamed of your actions. Went to purchase a cup of coffee and use the restroom. The employee didn't know where the restroom key was, but she found another key and let me in. Clean, nice restroom, but needed a little bit of touch-up cleaning. Coffee pretty easy and convenient. Not a lot of parking, but somewhat adequate. Somewhat difficult to get out on Lincoln Blvd. Watch out for pedestrians as you're trying to get into the traffic. read more

This is the biggest scam car wash ive ever been to. First of all this express wash costs $8 for the cheapest wash, which is more than usual. Usually irs $6 or $7. But whatever the extra dollar doesnt deter me. Then I go through the wash to find out that they dont have a blower to dry the car. Not for the $8, nor the $9, nor the $10. Not for any wash in fact, they just simply dont have a blower to dry the cars with. So after paying their exhorbitant prices you have to roll your sleeves up and dry the car yourself. NO problem, ill just park at one of your gas pumps for about 30 minutes and use all the napkins in the dispencer to dry my car. Who needs a blower right? After all it says "car wash" not "car dry." The worst place ever. I needed to use the air pump and there is a guy who is not even part of Shell, put his cleaning products there and cleans the cars right in front of the air pump spot. When I asked if I can use it, he said; I needed to wait so he can take care of his customers first. I mentioned about this to the store owner/manager and he just didn't care. The car wash is a mess, the service is rude and you will be very likely screaming at someone before your experience at this station is over. Surprisingly, it used to have good service. I ran out of gas and asked if I might borrow a can and buy some gas--leave my DL and then come back and get more gas. "You can buy one, dude." The poor old lady I was trying to help didn't have a gas can and I didn't have the twenty-two bucks it would take to buy a can and fill it with gas. The guy basically told me I was SOL. Look, I know this isn't a full-service station but there is nothing wrong with treating all of your customers as though you wanted to be of help rather than trying to squeeze every penny out of them that you can, when they are in difficult circumstances. I've used this station (infrequently) over the past twenty years, but if this is the way that they treat people who are caught in a tough situation--I'll avoid this place like the plague. I actually remember a time when most businesses in Santa Monica were like Byron Woodley Tires, up the road a bit. IE--they cared about their customers, wanted to be good neighbors and wanted repeat business.
