Last summer, I was told I needed to replace my HVAC system before this summer because it uses R-22. Naturally, that was stressful and felt like a huge unexpected expense. When Will came out, he carefully inspected the system and then walked me through the facts. He explained that as long as the unit is working properly, there's no need to replace it just because it uses R-22. He also clarified that refrigerant doesn't need to be added unless there's a leak (contrary to what I had previously been told about it needing regular refills). At no point did he try to upsell me or pressure me into replacing something that still works. Instead, he focused on what was actually necessary and in my best interest. That level of integrity is rare and incredibly appreciated. It's clear he genuinely cares about his customers and values doing the right thing over making a quick sale. That is exactly what happened to us on President's Day weekend. My husband went to our basement to get a package of toilet paper from our storage spot. Hint one, the lights didn't turn on with the switch at the top of the stairs. Hint two, when he took the last step into the basement he was standing in five inches deep of water! What a disaster! The whole 2,000 Sq foot basement had five inches of standing water. Our sump pump had failed and so had the secondary drain. Now here is where the five star review for Stewart's Plumbing begins. We called one local plumber whom had given us a quote for a bathroom remodel and there was no answer. We called Stewart's Plumbing and hung up when getting an answering machine. Surprise! Less than five minutes later we got a call from Stewart's Plumbing office. They were apologetic about missing our call and wanted to be of assistance. We explained our predicament and the gentleman that runs the office explained the proposal. He thought a new sump pump was probably needed based on the age of our current one. He gave us a firm quote for the sump pump including installation. As for the drain he explained they could run a line with a camera to identify why it had failed. Great! Could they come out that same day? The answer was YES, we could expect the service people at 4 p.m.. At approximately 4 p.m. we received a call from William that they were on the way. We asked that they come to the backdoor as that was the best access to the basement. They followed our instructions and wanted to take off their shoes when entering our home. We advised them that it wasn't necessary as the carpet already needed to be cleaned. William, the owner, and his assistant got right to work. As we expected the sump pump needed replacing and they proceeded with the job. Immediately after the installation of the new, much better quality, sump pump the water started going down. In a half hour time the basement was drained. As for the inspection of the failed drain William explained it would be needed to be done on another day. They scheduled to come back on Friday for that to occur. On Friday a different employee came out to trace the drain with a scope and identify the blockage. It turned out there was no blockage but the drain goes straight to the sump pump not to the outside drain that we thought was the outlet. Duh, of course the drain doesn't work when the sump pump fails. Thank you William and Stewart's Plumbing for the five star experience. Now we just have to clean out all the drenched belongings that were stored in the basement!

This new company is extremely over priced! Service call $250 includes first hour of service. The second hour is $175. These prices do not include the use of any equipment. So to snake a drain between a washer machine and the A/C unit which is the same room with a drain cost $575. I HIGHLY recommend looking else where. I deal with many plumbing companies having multiple properties and this is the worst I have ever experienced! It's my fault for not realizing I was not dealing with Meyer Plumbing who was a very honest and reliable company. I can not say the same about Tom Sondergeld Plumbing. Yes you are correct I was quoted the price of $250 for the service call which includes first hour. I was NEVER quoted there would be an equipment fee which was $150. I have never used a plumber where the equipment to snake out a drain was an additional charge. Your Service Tech did come the same day but that was not my asking. Apparently you had openings. Checking around town the average cost is $102.61 - $125.63 per hour for drainage stop ups. Your cost of $287.50 per hour may be average to you but seems extremely high to me.

I had a major MAJOR issue and repair several years back that they fixed, quickly addressed and within a couple days, rather than the couple weeks I was quoted by other providers. The costs across the several providers as I was getting quotes were all within a couple hundred dollars of each other (for a project known to cost more than $6k) but Drexler was also able to schedule it and get it done within the week. It was done quickly and well. And I have used them for most of my HVAC and plumbing concerns ever since. They have tried to up-sell me every time they come. But that is honestly something I have come to expect everywhere. They don't argue with me or push harder after I decline, though. Most of the time they speak to ME, the solitary female homeowner, but a couple times I've been asked if I need to call in my "husband" or other male partner when discussing specifics and money, which will SET ME OFF. Even if there is a male partner in the picture or in the house, it is MY HOUSE. You've been dealing with me the whole time, continue to do so. I will address it in the moment and make it awkward. But that has been the minority of the time. Still, it's gotta be called out. When I do correct, they roll with it and give me the nitty gritty. I feel established and generally well taken care of with Tom Drexler, so I will remain a customer unless something egregious happens.
