I recently ordered retainers from their office for 450$. The plastic used is very cheap, cloudy and bubbly. It is chipping at several places which would be dangerous to our health. I went and asked them to remake it before posting the review. The second time also they sent me the same quality retainers. it's not worth. They are not maintaining the standards. Our two (now teenage) sons have been patients of Dr. Shemirani's for many years and have had nothing but a great experience. A very friendly place to get your braces, aligners etc. The office ambience is very spacious, well lit and looks clean. Dr. shemirani and the staff are very friendly. This facility is worse. I had to pay out of pocket because office was not able to submit the correct information to insurance on time. The front office is rude and was not even courteous to accept. The billing lady is so rude he made remarks like my son is not bleeding or anything when I told him my son feels like he suffering from discomfort with braces. Making this remark was very strong comment about your child. When I reached out to doctor he declined to address the issue. I will never recommend this doctor and facility to anyone. read more

Before I start my review, let me begin by saying Dr. Shemirani provides great customer service, cares enough to get to know his patients, and is extremely kind! Staff is nice, I had an issue with a staff member but it was resolved in a professional manner and didn't affect future visits. When I initially decided to move forward with my treatment I was told it would take 18 months. I got my braces on May 2018 and throughout my treatment things went well and on schedule. I was told my treatment was complete and my braces were removed on Sept 2019 which is just 2 months shy of the full 18 months originally stated during my initial appointment/consultation. I had a few follow up visits after...molding for retainers, fitting and once because the wiring on my permanent retainer was out of place. During these visits I pointed out that I felt like one of my front tooth wasn't symmetrical. I pointed it out to a few staff members and Dr. Shemarani and they all said, "it looks good and it's aligned" I called a couple times to be seen or have an adjustment of sort with my retainer (if that's even possible) but I have not received a follow up. It could also be because of timing as Covid lock down happened in March of 2020. It's been 2 years since I had my braces removed, till this I can see and feel the difference and it's extremely bothersome. To others it may not be as noticeable but I notice it (everyday) and committing to something like this financially, you want it to be close to perfect. Otherwise, you'll just feel what I feel...unsatisfied. I'm not sure if having my braces removed 2 months early was the reason for that one tooth not moving forward and being symmetrical but I can't help thinking that time could have helped. Disappointed that my concern wasn't heard. Patient concerns is extremely important and should be heard especially for something as permanent as this. My braces were placed on May 2018. Removed on September 2019. My final couldn't have been on April 2018. read more

I had a great experience With Dr Bobby and his staff for over two years for my kid's braces treatment. Dr Bobby identified and explained the treatment plan very clearly at the beginning. Following this, my kid had multiple visits over the course of two years, and had a smooth experience every time. The staff was nice and friendly and it was easy to schedule and reschedule appointments, as required. The dental assistants working on setting up and replacing the braces were quite efficient and courteous. They gave clear instructions on do's and don'ts each time. Dr Bobby reviewed the progress at each visit and gave updates about the next steps. The end results have been great and I am quite satisfied with the overall experience. read more

Dr. Shemirani is a very kind and friendly orthodontist. He is very approachable and willing to answer any questions you have. One time we had, what we thought was, an emergency and he came from home, before leaving to a personal engagement, and fixed he problem. That was when we first got the breaches on and didn't know what was an emergency and what wasn't. He was just as friendly that evening as he is everyday and from day one. He knows what he is doing and his assistants are very knowledgeable. He has plenty of assistants so you are never waiting long. There has never been a time when I was told that he is behind. Dr. Shemirani is amazing but the lady handle the billing, she is so rude and never help. When you ask, she always said I have submit your claim but she never did. Awesome orthodontist for kids and adults alike. The process of braces took only 2 years! I didn't even have to pull some of my teeth. My son is undergoing braces treatment with the doctor at the Fremont office. No complaints about the doctor so far but I find the front desk staff very rude and curt. Braces takes months and it is so unpleasant to deal with these people for so long. They do not have on site general dentist for cleaning. This means you need to take 3 appointments total for cleaning- 1 with your general dentist for cleaning and 2 with Dr.Shemirani's office before and after the cleaning for removing and re-fitting the braces. And not to mention the driving back and forth - half day affair! The hard part of all is getting the doctor's appmnt. They suggest you book months ahead but with high schoolers and their myriad activities this is almost impossible. The doctor only works for a few days in Fremont and is booked completely. This has been a problem for us. Though I have nothing against the doctor, the logistics are hard to navigate with his facility! read more

I got my braces done with Dr. Shemirani, and I have to say I am very pleased with both the results and my interactions with Dr. Shemirani and his staff. Before choosing Dr. Shemirani, I went to 2 other orthodontists recommended get consultations. The thing that stood out about Dr. Shemirani is that during my consultation with him, he was very straightforward with what he thought I needed and realistic with the timeline. The other 2 places I went to gave me two different recommendations that honestly felt like they were piling on the treatments, time, and money to keep me as a patient for longer. Even during the consultations, it felt like they weren't giving me the time of day considering you are about to spend thousands on your teeth. Dr. Shemirani answered all of my questions up front, and even showed pictures and diagrams to support what he said. One of my other consultations told me I needed 5 different treatments (wisdom teeth extraction, braces, crown adjustment?, and two others) in less than 10 minutes. Safe to say, Dr. Shemirani made me feel like my teeth were in good hands with him, and I was not being told to do more than necessary. The staff are also extremely professional, amicable, and respond to emails and calls in a timely fashion. Front desk staff, especially Shannon, were such a pleasure to deal with, and they treat everyone fairly with how they take appointments for days that are popular. For example, you could only make appointments 2 months in advance, which made making appointments on Saturdays easier because as a college student, I had to come down from campus to get my teeth looked at. With payments as well, if I forgot to do a payment one month, I did not feel pressured to complete it that month - I could simply come in next month and pay both months' payments at the same time. I do want to say thought that this may be because I try to be a good patient in general, and I definitely saw some patients/parents of patients be a little more aggressive and quite frankly uncooperative with front desk staff, but all staff remained very professional. The atmosphere in the office and while you're sitting in the chair with the dental hygienists, you never feel uncomfortable. As long as you can hear them, they let you listen to music with earphones in, especially if it's a longer visit. They were all so fun to talk to, and the atmosphere is also definitely kid-friendly. Last but definitely not least, I am very happy with my teeth. I didn't necessarily need them before, but wow I'm super surprised at just how much more confident and open I feel with smiling. Overall, I would highly recommend going to Dr. Shemirani because 1) he is straightforward and realistic with what you need, and won't pile on services you don't need, 2) the amazing front desk staff and dental hygienists, and 3) what my dad likes to call "a Colgate-worthy smile" he wants to send to all my extended family (not that I let him do that). read more

Though I have not been to any other Orthodontist... Dr Shemirani and his staff are excellent at their job. I was referred by my dentist here for my kids...and later found out that many of my friend's kids also got their treatment here. Dr. Shemirani explains the entire treatment very nicely and is very approachable and friendly. He does not hesitate to resolve any doubts that u might have during the treatment. He is so nice and gentle to kids that kids do not hesitate to go for their appointment either. In fact he had nice little setup to keep kids occupied with games/TV during their wait period... He has a nice reward system for his little patients which binds them into his little community. Also a little Starbucks station is cool. The front desk staff is also very patient and provides all the information that u need. His other staff is also very efficient. His work is excellent off course in braces as well as other orthodontia related treatments. Work gets done in the estimate that he gives. Bobby Shemirani is a pleasant Orthodontic-person, but his practice is too busy and sometimes he is too. Staff is friendly and welcoming, especially the receptionist. I wish I knew her name. She does try to problem solve but staff do have limits. There are several times Bobby Shemirani said with great confidence that broken brackets are easy problems that can be fixed quickly. However, my experience has found that it is not true. I ended up finding the processes difficult with scheduling appointments and expensive. I do understand Orthodontic treatment can be hard to predict, especially when the patient is a teenager, going to school, who is active in multiple sports. The most difficult thing is scheduling appointments. If you work, have a child in school, and has activities, and have a family schedule, it is difficult to make an appointment. Available appointments for loose or broken brackets have a narrow time slot. This Orthodontic has two offices, one in Foster City and Fremont. Perhaps that is why it is so difficult to get an appointment, especially AFTER braces have been put in. I'm sure there are other Orthodontics just as qualified in the area, and will work with scheduling appointments in a reasonable manner and time frame. read more
