It's always challenging to schedule appointments after school hours. It generally takes about 1.5 -2 months to get the time you preferred while other clinics are able to do that monthly. The clinic seems over booked. read more

Dr. Chong and his team are awesome! My son got his Cross-Bite fixed with braces from Dr. Chong. The check-in is easy by tapping your name on the iPad. They schedule your next appointment one and/or two months in advanced which is great for me because I like to plan and organize my life ahead (especially with 3 little kids!) They have an area for your child to brush their teeth prior to their appointment (which is great when you're picking them up straight from school). I went in for a consultation end of Nov2015, set a plan, braces went in around Apr2016, 3-1/2 years later today Oct2019...they are finally off. I got my braces done here and seriously had an amazing experience with them! I had a crossbite and ended up having braces from when I was in 7th grade until I was in 10th grade (about 3 years). I went to the orthodontist about once a month to get it tightened. I loved picking a new color every time as well :) You know how many people dread going to the dentist? I actually looked forward to going here. Dr. Chong and his son were seriously the best. Them and the other staff always made me feel super welcome and comfortable. 7 years later, I'm still wearing my retainers religiously about every other night because I know for a fact that my teeth will shift a bit if I don't! It's conveniently located across from James Logan High School so I would always try to schedule my appointments for after class. As for pricing (Was it $5000 altogether?), my parents took care of that so I can't really say anything about that but I'm sure for whatever we paid, it was well worth it. read more

Front desk = bad customer service! I get the whole Covid-19 we need to be safe. The process is when you arrive in parking lot to text and they will advise to enter. I had asked if they can text when my daughter leaves the office so I can look out for her. They didn't text like they said they were. Feels like they don't care about my daughters safety just theirs! The last time I was here it was 21 years ago! My bonded wire popped off after two decades, and Dr Scott's Team bonded it back (no charge). I have so many memories of this office and it's modernized, but it still running very similar to before. I got a quick exam and my teeth are still straight after all this time. I did orthodontic treatment for years, but my teeth haven't relapsed. (I've seen other people whose teeth shifted significantly after treatment, requiring more investment later on.) I am pleasantly surprised and amazed by doctor and his entire staff services . I just got my full braces done yesterday and it was paining in one of the tooth more than others ..I just sent email thinking I ll need to call and explain my situation but guess what received call / vm from doctor him self explaining to the t why I am feeling this and what are the options to mitigate the pain along with toothbrush suggestion :) . Dr. Leonard Chong is hands down one of the nicest guys ever. A couple of years ago, I noticed that my teeth were beginning to shift and I realized I probably needed retainers to keep them in line. I didn't even contemplate going to someone else, I immediately called and made an appointment with Dr. Chong. He makes you feel extremely comfortable, which is great for kids who don't necessarily sit still and don't like the idea of dentists and orthodontists. I got my braces on in 2001 and off in 2003 -- in middle school. More than 10 years later, and I think I've started to grind my teeth a bit leading to some shifting. My retainer no longer fit snugly, and so I called up Drs. Chong and asked for a resizing. One week later, I went on in, and Dr. Scott (the son) adjusted my retainer for free -- it apparently is all part of the package from 10 years ago (thanks Mom, Dad). Dr. Scott still remembered me from back then -- and since then, has digitized my entire file so it was super easy for him to track back my retainer history, etc. even though I hadn't been to the office in over 8 years. Great service from experts in the field who clearly care about their patients. I hope I never have to go back (nobody wants to do orthodontics a second time around) but Chong Orthodontics is highly, highly recommended from a longtime patient. read more

Dr. Leonard Chong took wonderful care of me and my smile several years ago, and I can't be happier with the results. I started my treatment with him when I was starting Junior High (great time for braces, right?) and it was recommended that I have 4 of my adult teeth extracted as otherwise, I was likely to have problems with crowding since my teeth were bigger than the space available. After having 4 teeth removed on Friday the 13th (great timing with that appointment) by an oral surgeon that Dr. Chong recommended, they proceeded with closing the gaps and making my smile perfect. My treatment overall only took 2 years, even with numerous broken brackets, and a less than perfect record of wearing my headgear. Dr. Chong and his staff were very professional and caring throughout the entire process. After my braces were removed, I was given a set of retainers with the recommendation to wear them as much as possible. To this day I get compliments about how nice my smile is. Also, I have been able to get periodic adjustments in my retainers at no additional cost. Dr. Leonard Chong's son, Dr. Scott Chong has been overseeing the adjustment of my retainers for the last few years, and I have found him to be utterly professional, compassionate, and clear in his recommendations to me. I have a problem with clenching and grinding my teeth at night - to the point that I actually cracked a tooth at age 26! To help prevent more problems, Dr. Scott recommended that I get a new retainer, and that he would have it made as thick as possible to help protect my teeth. I wear my new retainer every night now, and it has made such a huge difference in my life. I don't have soreness in my teeth and jaw anymore. Dr. Scott had also suggested I also use a special fluoride gel which has made it so I can drink hot and cold beverages again without pain. I couldn't be happier with the quality of service and professionalism I have experienced at the Chong Orthodontic office, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I found Dr Chong on Yelp seeking a second opinion on my 8yr old's teeth and decided to go with Dr Chong because his treatment plan made sense and was not all about getting the most $ from me. The first orthodontist I went to recommended braces on the upper 4, lower 4 and a palatal expander. When I asked the purpose of each of those treatments, the explanations didn't make sense. AND it would have maxed out my insurance for orthodontia so any subsequent treatments would have been 100% out of pocket. Dr Chong explained that my daughter did not need palatal expanders as her bite was aligned and that the palatal expanders would have caused other issues. He also explained that my daughter did not need lower braces because the overlaps were small and any corrections at age 8 would need to be redone at 14 or 16 given how much the lower jaw grows. Dr Chong's treatment plan was more conservative and took into account my daughter's comfort and future treatments. Their appt system is easy and the email reminders fantastic. My daughter's monthly appts are about 15min long with no wait. When my son, now 4, needs braces, we will definitely bring him to Dr Chong as well. read more
