Found this gem on a recommendation. GPS took us directly to the restaurant. Large parking lot to accommodate parking and the restaurant was easily marked. There is seating outside within a black fenced area allowing patrons to bring your dog to enjoy the patio as well if interested. We decided to sit inside on this particular day. When we entered we found a booth and were promptly greeted by our waiter Alan. He was friendly, and took our drink order right away. Unfortunately we had just missed happy hour regardless I ordered a margarita with salt and my father had a Coke. The menu consisted of a variety of fish options and burgers. I ordered the perch with homemade fries and my father had the hamburger with homemade chips. My meal came with a side salad that was fresh, crispy and a perfect size to take the edge off while I waited for our meal. To my surprise we did not have to wait long and the entrees came out pipping hot. We were given space to enjoy our dinner. Michelle (one of the owner/managers) stopped by our table to check in on us. We had nothing but good things to say and were thankful Cathy and Bill had recommended Shepard's as it was exactly what we were looking for. We couldn't leave without trying one of the homemade deserts. Carrot cake or a peanut butter parfait. We went with the parfait and decided to shared it. Thank goodness because the desert was aesthetically pleasing to the eye, rich in flavor, and dense with goodness. Each bit had a little bit of everything in the scoop. So good I had to take the rest to go so my husband at home could have some. He is a peanut butter desert lover! Really enjoyed that the location was easy in and out, the facility was well lit, decorated, clean ( even the bathroom) and the staff super pleasant. Highly recommend to stop in for good food and community.

    Bar area.

Incredible food and great service. A hidden gem that I wish I would have known about years ago.

Food was just so so. Handmade chicken tenders were very thin and average. Fries consisted of an order of 2 inch pieces. Will not go back.

Hmm... it was worse than that. The smell of bleach cleaner was so bad that we could hardly breathe. Bland nachos. But service was nice.

I've seen the mixed reviews of this place, but can say that I have had a net positive experience…read morewith Ada Garage Bar and Grill. The service is always timely for me and the food has been consistent. They have live music and the patio is perfect this time of year! Parking is a bit of a pain when DT Ada is busy, so just plan for that. On my most recent visit I ordered the mac and cheese and really enjoyed it. Sometimes bar and grill mac and cheese can be pretty underwhelming, but this was creamy, flavorful, and actually felt homemade. The portions were solid too. The atmosphere is casual and lively, making it a good spot to meet friends, grab a drink, watch a game, or sit outside on a nice summer evening. Is it the best most high quality restaurant in Ada? Probably not. But it is a reliable spot with good food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. It is in my regular roation for food stops in Ada. 4/5 stars from me!

I think they forgot the "b" in the name…read more Since we live in Ada, we were understandably excited to have another potentially good place open nearby. We visited not long after they went live in 2021. It was busy inside and the service was understandably slow. I got the "Homemade Chili", which was apparently made in a condemned home because it was barely room-temperature. I sent it back and had to press my case to get that bacterial culture of a dish taken off the bill. My "Garage Burger" had a bun that was so stale, it clanked when I hit it against my plate. My beleaguered waitress stared at me when I did this and asked, comically, "do you want a new bun?" Why yes, yes I do - preferably one that can't be sharpened into a prison shank, my dear. As the volume in the place progressively increased, I watched another family with younger kids struggle with similar food issues. The dad at that table looked at me knowingly with something akin to PTSD in his eyes and then he abruptly plunked down some cash and gathered his family up and walked out. I paid with a credit card, so it took me a bit longer, but we all left without finishing our meals. I'm not going to say that the food here is a crime against humanity, but I'm going to think it really hard.

Haven't done a Yelp review in a few years and trust me, I've been to at least like three of four…read moredifferent places in the timespan. Nothing quite made me want to leave a review. Sure, I'd leave places and be like, "I should really do them a solid" but then I just went home and either forgot about it or started doing other stuff. Have gotten really into running since COVID and that's pretty much my favorite topic of discussion (running, not COVID). Had between 15 and 20 Miller Lites over the course of a three-night span here in late June 2026. This place is like Outback Steakhouse in the "no rules, just right" type of way. I do not believe they serve food here but did see bartenders making microwavable popcorn on request to several patrons. So this place is designed with a three-room set-up. You walk in and it's a square carpeted room that can be used for live music. Then you reach the bar area, then there are pool tables. There seemed to be an area behind the pool tables but I was too afraid to go back there. Now in terms of bar design, I would have led with the bar but that's just me and I'm sure the architects (possibly Mike Brady from "The Brady Bunch") knew what they were doing. I tend to trust professionals, apart from what our public health "experts" did to us during the forementioned COVID. This bar is cash only. That's probably in other reviews. Also, if you have AT&T cell service, good luck. There's no service so you can't look up scores and check Instagram. And now you're thinking, "what about the wifi?" C'mon bro, be serious. I love this bar. They have four different TVs in the main bar area that range from 19 to 45 inches. All are on different setups. Antenna, YouTubeTV, etc. The staff is fantastic. Patrick and Katie were my two favorites. Entertaining and straight out of bartending central casting. I was just drinking beers so I can't comment on what like a cocktail or normal-person drink tastes like. Clientele ranges from bachelorette parties to people who have seen some shit. It's a dive bar that never had to try to be a dive bar. You'll read other reviews on this place and they are super granular or longwinded or whatever. Don't pay attention to those bozos. This place is strictly vibes. Did I mention the dropped ceilings have art paintings on them? One even has a Pontiac painted on it. Hell yeah, Michigan. Haven't seen a Pontiac since cars still had cassette tape players in them. I would live there if I could. And I'm a proud Ohioan.

Guessing the decor hasn't changed in decades, which is great. Friendly bartender, and lots of locals coming and going. We obviously are not regulars at the bar, and felt welcomed.
