For an out of town we that was recommended from some old cats at Mill Creek Tavern, this was right up my alley. I wanted a local watering hole with some good bar food, a pool table, and an eclectic group. Yep. I came two nights, and I found (and Wednesday 6-18 after covid) a fun rowdy young crowd that kept me out til midnight. Then I came the following Saturday from 6-9 and found a crowd of everyone- young old rich middle class rowdy fun laid back crowd... just what I was looking for. Beers are a good standard price... the music switches up (although I played some good ol Texas red dirt country music and it flew, I could also pop on some standard top 40 rap pop whatever and still be good!) If you want a place that feels like home, whether you live around here or not, you got it!

All three times, I have tried different foods and beer. Each time, the food was absolutely great, I love the beer, the service is excellent, friendly, fast, and the place is clean and nice. I've had the olive burger, fish and chips and Haus Mac and had them add fried chicken. Truly great, all three times. My family has had the kids burger (small, slider size) but REALLY GOOD, tons of cheddar cheese melting off it, pizza which was great, bacon-wrapped hot dog, great, and we all love the waffle fries and the seasoning on them. I haven't had a bad beer yet, but I recommend the Mortarhead IPA is it's one of the best IPAs I've had in a while! Haven't tried dessert there yet, but it's likely in my future. They have seating to accommodate small or large groups (we were 6 yesterday and had plenty of room in a both). Lots of TVs, which isn't always my favorite, but I appreciate that Bob Ross was on one of them, lol! Overall, this place is great, and we intend to keep going back here!

I've learned this isn't a great place for take out. My husband and I have sat down here before and I had no issues. It really stems to how bad the take out is everytime.

Being a burger joint, we obviously ordered everything but the burgers lol. We had a long trip ahead and didn't wanna feel too greasy but looking over at other tables later, the burgers looked delicious. I got the peach salad that came with curried pumpkin seeds and shredded asiago and croutons. I added grilled chicken for $4. I wished there were some fresh peaches on it but the salad was tossed in a peach dressing instead. The croutons also tasted like fried pieces of sandwich bread. I will say, I was so pleasantly surprised by how delicious this salad was! Holy cow, after a few days of camping, having vegetables was one thing, having this salad changed my outlook on life. My fiancé was a little saddened by the fact that we will be no where near this place (from Connecticut) becuase he thoroughly enjoyed his brisket wrap. Maybe it's the Mid Western charm and hospitality, but our experience was so great. After getting the bill, our waiter (who had two colored socks on and my friend thought he only had one, but alas, one sock was just black while the other was a hot pink) offered us our drinks to go and brought us back a full cup of iced tea and Dr Pepper. Our table of four left with a $70 bill which was fantastic, given that the food also satiated us to the best degree. All the way from CT, I wanna say: thank you Michigan. And thank you to the Gnarly Heifer, even though we did not taste your Heif.

The meat is a blend of Brisket, Bacon, and ground chuck. The blend itself is excellent. I could definitely taste the brisket in the blend. The burger itself as a whole was very good, it just missed in one regard. The bbq sauce was not to my liking. They have a lot of options to choose from though. The fries that come with it are very good, nice and crunchy. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall a very solid 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, while it's not going to crack my top 5 in the area, it is a very good burger spot and I highly recommend a stop.

I was surprised at how long it took for the 2 hosts to greet us - as we were standing directly in front of them. They were talking to one another, and it was probably work related, but to just stand there staring at them for a couple minutes while they ignored us was awkward. When they finally talked to us they weren't very friendly. Anyway, we made our way to the bar and it was full except for 3 seats. I think the bartender waiting on us was new. He seemed like he was pretty overwhelmed/in the weeds. He greeted us quickly and brought us waters when he did, which I appreciated. I ordered a Blackeberry Bourbon Sour and my Mr had Paloma Nuestra. We both enjoyed our drinks they were refreshing and well crafted. For dinner I had a really hard time deciding! I wanted to try so many things! Our bartender said his favorite thing in the menu is the chicken and rice bowl. That was something I was considering and decided to go with that. Excellent recommendation! The chicken was flavorful and so tender. The hot peppers were a nice touch. There was a lot of food too! I couldn't finish it all. Mr had the hanger steak that was served with mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said the risotto was the best he's ever had, and I agree. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and so was the steak. The space is really nice, felt intimate without being overcrowded. We are looking forward to coming back!

What a disappointment, but not nearly as much as our experience at 123 Tavern. We came in at 4:15PM before the Brandi Carlile show needing a table for a party of 8-10. The place was fully booked (but only half full at that time) except the bar (first-come, first-served). Fair enough -- but from the moment we walked up, the manager at the host stand couldn't have cared less. She quoted a two-hour wait, shut down my question about sitting outside with a flat no, and pointed us toward the bar. No sense of customer service at all. Like zero. The three of us who were there took the last open seats at the bar. Then came the real show: one bartender for the entire restaurant AND bar. He ignored us for ten minutes. My wife and friend got their beers quickly -- but my bourbon sat finished at the service station for another seven minutes while I watched the large ice cube melting as it marinated there. When I finally asked where my drink was, I got "I'm working on it." When he did finally bring it, he pushed it across the bar at me -- no apology, no eye contact, his attention on anything but me. I'll be honest about what I can't prove: I've worked in this industry a long time, and the whole thing read like my service got intentionally slow-walked. My drink held back while everyone around me was taken care of. Maybe the front manager said something after our rocky start at the host stand. Maybe they're just all bad at their jobs. I can't tell you which. I can only tell you how obvious it felt from the barstool. Everything after was the same; menus, ordering, closing out, all a slog. I had to hunt down that same manager for our check so we could get to the show, and she was all attitude, zero help. We only escaped because my wife flagged a server who found a another manager. His response to hearing all this? "I'm sorry." Nothing else. No attempt to make it right. For the first time in my life, I left $0 on a $100 tab. I'm a 25%+ tipper. That's how badly this went. Here's the thing, 123 Tavern: if you're going to bill yourself as a place to gather before events, staff the place and train your managers to act like they want customers there. Until then, I'll spend my money somewhere that values it.
