Beautiful views of the ocean and sunset. Great service at the bar. Very friendly and efficient. Plenty of seating around the bar area. It's part of Shephards beach resort, so nice to have it right there on the property of the hotel. They do serve food but I didn't eat anything on this visit. First time visit and we had a great time. We stopped by on a Saturday and was told there was a bit of a wait. However the hostess asked if we were open to seating in another area - first available. Server Zella was extremely rude from the beginning. Told us we had to put a card on file before charging a $25 hold on it and not telling us until after. Never requested to open a tab when we were just ordering food and departing to go home shortly. That time of year, it's lively all the time and on a Wednesday afternoon it has live music, more than one bar going, and food service. I ate, I drank, I left satisfied. Just what I hoped it would be. To be clear, it's located in a resort hotel on a strip of land that has many high rise resort hotels, so don't expect a rustic, out of the way place. I enjoyed my time there. read more

Although the food was fine, the service was subpar. It started with forgetting my husband's drink. And then my husband and I were served our meals over 20 minutes apart. They forgot to make one dish. I went to Shepard's tiki beach bar on Monday (5/30/2021) with two other friends to wrap up our Memorial Day weekend & unwind. We were able to get a seat at the bar with ease. Upon our arrival, one of the bartenders, Jenn S, was throwing several ice cubes out of the back window directly at her coworkers! Jenn continued to throw ice at them for at least 3 minutes... ignoring us to her immediate right. I was able to catch the attention of another bartender on the other side of the bar, Ashley. Ashley came over, apologized for her for coworkers behavior then proceeded to take our orders. As we waited for our food, we asked Jenn if she could take a picture of the 3 of us in an attempt to lighten her mood with us a little. Jenn responded in a sharp tone saying "give me 15 minutes...maybe even 12." Really?! Guess what, she never came back after 12-15 minutes to take out picture. Instead, she continued to address other customers around the bar and speak with her coworkers. After about 30 minutes, Jenn approached the cash register that was right next to where my friend was sitting. My friend asked Jenn what her name was (because she was the only one not wearing her name tag at the moment) and Jenn proceeds to put her finger in my friends face & say "just a minute!" That was our last straw, we called Ashley over asked for our check and asked to speak with a manager. Tony came over and I explained all of the above information to him in a respectful manner. During our conversation Jenn decided to put her name tag on, walk over to us and say "my name is Jenn by the way!" IN FRONT OF HER SO CALLED MANAGER!! I was blown away!! It was very clear that Jenn has a terrible attitude daily and there has been no type of consequences. Tony simply apologized & went to speak with Jenn after my conversation with him. A few minutes went by and Tony returned to inform me that his manager was now speaking with Jenn about her behavior. I asked if I could speak with his manager when he was done. The next person to introduce themself as a manager was Chris... Chris clearly does not interact with his clientele often. He had no remorse whatsoever about the situation and only offered excuses as to why his staff may have behaved the way they did by saying "it's been a long weekend and everyone has worked so many hours etc" that's unacceptable! The entire management team needs to be trained in customer service & conflict management. What was supposed to be a fun, relaxing day out on the beach turned into an absolute nightmare! I will NEVER return to this bar or any restaurant, bar, venue etc affiliated with Shepard's ever again! Terrible! We are so sad! We were celebrating Christmas with our adult children ages 26 and 28. Our son was carded twice (26) we were ok with that. But then security came over AGAIN(3rd time )...to our table and asked him for his ID. Harassment is an understatement! I'm not sure if staff was mad that they had to work Christmas. I didn't get exactly what I ordered (this has been happening A LOT in the Clearwater area in the last few weeks); maybe this was an instance of you can't always get what you want, you get what you need. I ordered a grouper sandwich; I received a grouper platter. Maybe I'm better off without the carbs. I asked for the tartar sauce only on the side and it was on the side as well as on the grouper. Waitress is excellent. Food is great! Her name is Hanna, she is great. No complaints at all with her. Unfortunately the beach is overrun by boats everywhere. Very little space for beach goers to get in the water. Millions in miles of Gulf Coast and these boats have to park here. Why you may ask? Not sure, Shepard's isn't doing anything about it. I would not recommend this place, you are better off going to the beach and not dealing with the boats, the sharp steel anchor that is beneath the water that I nearly steps On and the rope that is completely blocking anyone from accessing the water. Not to mention the loud, vulgar music that they play. This is unacceptable since there's young kids nearby and families TRYING to enjoy the beach. Save your money and go straight to the beach where you don't have to risk your life or limbs to enjoy a beach day. It's not worth the hassle at all. read more

A fun place to go for outdoor entertainment while staying in Clearwater Beach. They had live music and dancing right on the beach with two outdoor bars. If they had better bartenders I would give them 5 stars. But one bartender never even got my drink that I ordered, she just went on to serve a bunch of other people. Then later I another bartender short changed me by over $10 then quickly took off before I could say anything, leaving me with a beer for $18.50. I can let go and make excuses for the first, second, and third issue but once it hits the fourth issue in the same visit, it's no longer an individual employee problem, it's an establishment problem. Rude bartenders. We were doing a stroll on our last day and stopped at the outside tiki bar to listen to music. We stood at the bar on 6/15 at approx 3pm for about 30 minutes, with drinks in clear plastic cups. I went to the rest room and apparently the Tattooed barmaid suddenly decided this was a punishable, unforgivable offense and growled at my girlfriend saying "YOU CANT HAVE THESE, THEY ARENT SHEPHARDS CUPS!!!" With that being her only warning she threw out the drinks we had purchased. Word of advice: you have a lot of guests spending too much money on your overpriced shit - there are 50 other ways this could have been handled. Four stars for entertainment, this is the place to go for live entertainment. it is right on the beach walk in Clearwater beach. Walking distance from most hotels. Great location. They have tequila bar and two other bars outside giant stage with lots of graphics they have a full menu so you can eat drink and watch the band. There is also seating on the beach.
