Even though the nursing home had many activities, Mom no longer wanted to participate in any of them and spent most of the day in bed. We moved her to Theresa's because it has much more of a home feeling to it, it doesn't have the institutional feel of a nursing home. The house is bright, clean, and the family room has wonderful windows that look onto a large yard. Mom quickly became more interested and engaged in what was going on around her after she moved. Theresa also encouraged Mom to walk rather than use a wheel chair. This also helped Mom's self-esteem. Because Theresa only has 10 residents, fewer staff are needed, so Mom recognized them more quickly. Theresa and staff were friendly to all residents and family members, encouraged visits, and were genuinely interested in the well-being of their residents. I would highly recommend Theresa's Home.

Recently my wife and i found we needed assistance with our daily activities per doctors orders. We…read moretried two other services before hand and were not satisfied with the employees sent or headquarters based highly on attitude and false accusations they made about us upon personal opinion. Right At Home was entirely unlike this. A Josh Steiner came to our house to evaluate our home and get an overall idea on what services we required and which employees would best fit. Following this a gentleman named Zach Steiner came by with an employee to introduce and get started with us. As far as communication about employees and poss schedule change i have mostly dealt with Stephanie in the office who has always had a pleasant attitude and speaks very professionally on matters at hand. Some employees we have had for a weekly schedule but when needed they sent a fill in that was polite and able to meet our needs fittingly. All the employees helped us in all ways even when we have to leave the site for shopping or go on an appointment. Since her departure, she's been at several other facilities, and none have compared to the compassionate care and support she received at Sunrise. The Sunrise staff truly excel at ensuring the well-being of their residents. They go above and beyond to meet the community's needs. The facility is well maintained, vibrant (even amidst challenging Covid conditions where they had to think creatively to offer group activities), and the management staff is active, visible, and engaged in the day-to-day community operations. If was the best thing I ever did. Not just according to me but also according to my mom. Sunrise has it dialed in and all the things that used to frustrate me are gone. The CNA,s have spent time getting to know her. My mom says she feels like they really take an interest in getting to know her. I decided that if there was good evidence she was happy and engaging more, I could be willing to wait another week and see how it goes. See if she adjusts more. Unfortunately, I noticed her wedding ring was gone along with some necklaces she permanently wears that have sentimental value. Her debit card and credit card (both were already deactivated prior to intake but kept in her wallet to make her feel calm) were also missing from the slots in her wallet. Also, several other low value items like bed sheet set and personal care. This makes me think the missing ring and necklaces aren't just lost. They were likely stolen. The wallet has card slots so, someone went in the wallet and pulled the 2 cards out (again, deactivated cards but, looks like someone took them to try and use them). They told me not to bring valuable items and I didn't bring any cash or other jewelry but I didn't expect for a wedding ring that has never left her finger and necklaces she never removes, even during showers to be stolen. Let alone things from her purse. Lastly, the place has not even offered to make good on the wedding ring value They billed me for a second month ( per their policy) even though she was only there for 7 days . I di file a police report. So, I;d think twice before letting a loved on in this facility.

They have been in business for over 25 years, they are licensed with the State and we have a nurse supervisor to count on if and when we need additional help or support. That isn't always easy. We have had care for over 3 months now and Dad and Mom are both happy, Dad is recovering nicely and it takes the anxiety off my parents and family to know that someone is showing up each day to assist my parents. I called this group because they are affiliated with Journey Care and Journey Care was wonderful in how they cared for my mother as she transitioned. Everyone to include the people that answered the phones the nurses and the social worker. I didnt expect to be treated so abruptly by a woman named Cheryl. I told her the reason for my call that I was looking for food preparation and she said is that all? That took me back because every other place I called immediately began to tell me about what they offered. She told me to call Meals on Wheels. She then blurted out 4 hour minimum. Geez we never even had a discussion about anything. She then told me that she had no teams in his area. Before I hung up I wanted her to know how unpleasant she was. I wanted her to know just how opposite she was in comparison to the Journey Care employees. Customer care is very important no matter what company you work for but people are not calling caregiver services for their sick and elderly family members for a joyous reason.
