I love Lifetime fitness ! don't get me wrong, BUT don't drink the water!!!…read moreIt looks like it comes from a filtration system, but it doesn't. Yes I tested it. I have a great filtration system at my house so I know. my tester reads 25 ( very drinkable) and their tester is over 300 ( yuck ) Thats San Diego unfiltered water .. I have spoken to many employees already / it seems like they are unable to help .. For 300+ a month they should be ashamed of themselves. they even have water fountains with a filtration co name on the sink which is misrepresenting like it's filtered . I tested it. It's not !! Its is not filtered in the bathroom. It's not filtered in the main gym ; and it is not filtered in the restaurant. I don't know about you, but I don't want a smoothie made with sink water and I don't want to work up a sweat and drink sink water thats unfiltered I hope they Fix or charge us less each month! Also don't be dishonest and have your water in a place where it looks like it's filtered. I would think you could get in trouble for doing that. At the very lease I hope this review wakes up management and someday soon we can bring our water bottles from home to fill up with filtered water ..

He has the most joyful, sincere personality and it's obvious he truly cares about the members. Every time I see him, his energy instantly makes the day better. It's rare to find that kind of genuine positivity. This location truly feels like a second home. It's ALWAYS incredibly clean, they have every piece of equipment you could possibly need, and there are so many classes to choose from. The smoothies at the café are my favorite. I've said this before, Life Time really feels like more than just a gym to me. I also visit the Life Time Irvine location and love how big it is, the jacuzzi and beach club atmosphere there are amazing. But there's just something special about the La Jolla location. It feels welcoming, comfortable, and like a true community. Highly recommend!

There are gym/sweat towels and showers available on-site with bath towels as well. There is only one shower in the men's bathroom. I assume the same is true for the women's bathroom. There's also a serious water machine on site that spits out really cold water. Free 2 hour street parking or paid private lot parking. I am usually lucky enough to get a spot out front. The only reason I'm at 4 stars is because they canceled class once and made no attempt to contact me or other members ahead of time. There was just a paper sign on the door saying class had been canceled, without any explanation. Other than that,

I was first introduced when my son was visiting from DC and brought me to a few classes. After he left, I had a choice--go back to doing nothing or keep showing up. I decided to stick with it, and I'm really glad I did. The structure of the workouts makes it easy to stay consistent, and the energy in the room is incredible. What really stands out, though, is the support from the coaches. They make you feel comfortable, push you when you need it, and genuinely want to see you succeed. A big thank you to Gemma, Lorenzo, and Sarah for all the encouragement and support. You've made this a great experience.

I'm truly grateful to have found a functional fitness gym that complements my marathon training and is helping me rebuild after taking two years off heavy weight training. The classes are super structured and always well explained, with built-in modifications if needed. One thing I love is that each station has a TV screen showing the movements, so even if you forget, you always have a visual reference. The programming is intentional--it keeps you from getting overly fatigued or risking injury, while still challenging you to push hard when it's your turn. The rotating group format includes rest blocks that give you just enough time to recover and hit the next set strong. I love that part so much! The mix of cardio and functional strength is solid--it never feels like too much of either, and the balance is thoughtfully spread out throughout the week. And the best part? It's a real community. Everyone is genuinely supportive and here to help each other hit personal goals. Parking is super easy, too! There's a convenient lot behind the building shared with Harry's Diner, plus plenty of neighborhood parking nearby, so I've never had trouble finding a spot--even in La Jolla. The facility itself is insanely clean, well-stocked with PT and mobility tools, and clearly designed with so much intention. I don't even live in La Jolla, and I still make the commute--it's 100% worth it.

The gym itself is always clean, packed with all the equipment you could need, and ready for any fitness level. The classes are SOLID. Whether you're into functional fitness, HIIT, strength or hybrid training, the coaches are experienced and incredibly and actually care about helping you hit your goals. But what really makes FitStop special is the energy--everyone's in it together, cheering each other on, making workouts way more fun (and a little less painful). Ryan, Cassie, and the trainers go above and beyond--they're always around to chat about nutrition, recovery, or whatever else you want to know more about. It's more than a gym; it's a community where fitness feels less like a chore and more like something you actually look forward to. If you're looking for a place where you'll feel supported, challenged, and part of something bigger, this is it.

After having enough, I called the place nearest to me I could walk to. I was ultimately introduced to and booked with an exceptional trainer, Katie Kurtz. So glad I connected with her. Katie is so knowledgeable, inspirational and genuine. She pays mind to injuries or "bad days" and pivots workouts on the fly to avoid further injury/issues when needed. She does not just keep going- she checks in regularly throughout our hour sessions to see if she needs to rearrange the next step if needed. She starts the workouts always asking if there are any issues she should be aware of, and if you answer honestly, she goes from there to re-craft the session. She is strong, tough, fierce, attentive, and skillful. Really hard and great workouts- tuned for me! I was surrounded by the other staff at BRF often- good vibes, great personalities, and lots of hard workouts there. As result, I always leave exhausted and fulfilled regardless of how in shape I am. In addition, I have seen significant improvements in my both fitness and muscle definition. If you have the means to hire a personal trainer, I highly recommend doing so. Ethan does a great job of tailoring workouts to push his clients to their max. Another suggestion: if you order personal workouts, bring a friend. Nothing gets the competitive juices flowing like watching a friend do more push ups than you!

The space also has a big yoga dome right next door and a restaurant serving up a great selection of healthy food, which is a nice bonus before or after class. Just a couple things to keep in mind: parking can get tricky so give yourself extra time, and spots in the class fill up fast so make sure to book ahead. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a workout that's fun, unique and actually feels good for your body!
