Turns out they were out of melon liqueur--whatever, it happens--but instead of offering literally any substitute (ever heard of schnapps?), he just dropped the other ingredients on the bar and walked away. No comment. No effort. Then, because this trainwreck wasn't done, he got into a heated scheduling argument with his younger coworker right in front of us. I never complained loudly or raised my voice so I was shocked by his angry attitude. I explained I had done some research and learned that a service charge is legal when using a CREDIT card, but is NOT when using a DEBIT card. I thought Sluggo's had been a friendly place, but I learned differently tonight. I'm confident I was right, but I realize customers are not always right. However, customers should ALWAYS be treated better and more professionally and graciously than what I experienced.
