Excellent food! The flavors, the spices were absolutely amazing!!!!! Just found out randomly and was not disappointed!!! A must try when in Toronto!!! We had Malabar to die for ! We also order Labadar with chicken! And madras! All so so so good!!! Their naan is excellent and their somosas are fresh and delicious! You will not be disappointed coming here! It was perfect Indian food! Thank you!

Cockroach found in my rice
Prince R.

Yea I found a cockroach in my rice. I had the samosas, the butter chicken and some accompanying naan. The samosas we're flavourless. The butter chicken was ok but way overpriced (I recommend Mother India's Roti instead - quality and a great bang for your buck). And the naan was just dry and way too chewy. A serious letdown especially with the many good reviews this restaurant has.

This is our go to place for take out. We live close by. The flavor is incredible and you can taste the spices. A must order is: Bhoj special butter chicken and garlic and green chilli naan. We absolutely love the Naan! For someone who enjoys spicy food the lamb vindaloo had just the right amount of spiciness. We also tried Lamb Seekh Kebab and Tandoori Chicken were tasty as well. We wish the restaurant offer more sauces with these orders.

Masala tea (not so good)

This place has two solid things going for it - take out and customer service. As a large group, I always wonder how a small space is able to execute a generally take your time cuisine. I can say, for the most part the Indian food we ordered lacked the depth of flavour familiar to most Indian spots I've experienced here. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, palak paneer and lamb biryani The onion bhaji- a deep fried appetizer was the highlight. Crispy and flavourful. The naans were good. The masala tea which took time to prepare had no spices we were anticipating. We ordered in total 3 cups and the resounding review of it was steeped orange pekoe. However all that being said, the customer service was endearing. She always checked on us. Though forgetful and somewhat all over the place she was so friendly. Really made my experience much better.

Authentic food, delish, flavorful, not expensive, great portions!! Will be there next week and try other things

Chaat papri

We were deciding between a couple of Indian restaurants for dinner and based on the reviews we chose Bhoj. For an appetizer we ordered the chaat papri which was delicious and enough to share betwen the three of us. For mains we had butter chicken, dal maharani, and tandoori shrimp. We also ordered garlic naan, butter naan, and a side of rice. The best dish for me was the butter chicken. Not watery or bland but really rich and flavourful. The tandoori shrimp was my second favourite, although a little bit more expensive (it came with 4 really big shrimps). Then the dal maharani was last - not bad but nothing spectacular. The naan was really good - for the slightly cheaper price I'd stick with the butter naan instead of the garlic naan. Overall it was a really good meal - atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and the service was great. Glad we tried it!

This is a tiny place in an unlikely location on a busy street. It only seats about 22 diners and appears to do a good takeout business. I ordered the lunch special, advertised on a chalkboard on the curb - 2 curries, rice, naan, salad, dessert. It was priced at whatever curry I chose from the menu. The other curry was the chef's choice. I found that a bit odd. Suppose I was served something that I'm allergic to or don't like? I wasn't offered a choice or asked for a preference. Luckily, the chef chose chickpeas to go with my choice of butter chicken. I found the chicken a bit salty and the chickpeas lacking salt. Mixed together, it was balanced. It tasted okay but the portions were a little small. The naan was very good.

Bad picture because we couldn't wait to eat!!

Absolutely amazing! So flavorful and the service was great. We are on vacation in Toronto and wanted authentic Indian food. Butter chicken, butter naan, roti, tandoori chicken, mango chutney; everything was delicious!

Came here during my birthday as I always choose Indian for my choice of bday meal if I can. Their stuffed cheesy naan is delicious. Quite filing so one is enough to go with your curry choice. I asked for extra spicy masala chicken and they did a good job getting the spice right with still being flavourful. Service can be improved by being more speedy. Seems like they were fulfilling lots of take out orders at the same time.

6-7 chicken cubes and rest 2/3 all sauce Dhaba Chicken

$55 delivery arrived 3 min ago (see Photos) 2 chicken dishes 2 rice sides 1 naan bread 6-7 pieces of chicken cubes 2/3 soup for Dhaba chicken. Lababdar slightly better. During weekday we have Touch Indian restaurant underground in the PATH across from staples. Two to three times portion for 60% price. Same quality.

This was a planned visit as I was going to be in the area. I have been exploring the spots in this locality lately so a recommendation from two friends moved this spot up the ladder. The place is cozy for starters and the interior is to the point. They do take reservations though on the day we went it seemed like the evenings are geared towards take out. The menu is well laid out IMO with section dedicated to appetizers, vegetarian dishes, curries, grilled items and desserts. My DCs who had been here before recommended the Bhoj special butter chicken (I kind of dread the butter chicken as one rarely gets a decent one) and the chicken tikka. I added a papri chat appetizer as well as had built an appetite after a long day. I spotted a lacha pratha a not so common bread so ordered it as well with garlic naan and rice. The papri chat is decent would fix a quick snack fix. Decent version of this app. Now for the mains I am glad we ordered medium spicy as the flavor got a chance to bloom and I expect this level of spice from the dishes of this region. The butter chicken: the sauce was good and not the watery kind one gets at most places. Smooth yet flavorful. I ended up mopping the sauce of with bread. Chicken tikka: they used white meat here but it was cooked properly. Well marinated so nice soft and juicy and not overcooked as in most cases. It comes on a sizzling platter of onions. I think we have a winner here for this cuisine and at this price point in this area worth a repeat visit.

I ordered the chicken tikka wrap to-go. The wrap was small, had far too much lettuce, and overall not worth the price.

They gave us a whole garlic naan as it is uncut in the foil and that was very impressive! Really cool that they did that cuz most restaurants just cut it up and give it to you if you want it to go. Naan itself was very fresh and flavorful. They didn't really put any butter on top which was quite nice. So just a classic lovely garlic naan. Dahi Kebab appetizer - so yum! It was really flavorful on its own, and with that mint chutney it was even better! Husband loved the Malai Kofta ! Curry was properly creamy and even the koftas themselves were good. I needed it a little spicy so added a bit of spice to it and it was perfect. They also had a promotion going on for free samosas with an order of $50 or more. So they gave us four samosas on the house! So nice of them. Husband definitely enjoyed these.

The food itself was good, but I had issues with each. The biryani was flavorful, but had a bit too much salt and meet at the yoghurt sauce to balance it out. The curry that came with the fish was delicious, however, the type of fish they used had so many bones and it was impossible to figure out under the thick orange sauce if what you were putting in your mouth was all bone or fish. It made for a very unpleasant eating experience for a person use to eating fresh fish. Worth a try but won't be back

Midway through the painfully slow setup process, the entire store started filling with the scent of something glorious. Rich spices, buttery warmth... it was the kind of smell that stops conversations. Everyone working there was Indian, and they were all clearly just trying to wrap up my account so they could dig into whatever just got delivered. I had to ask--where's that food from? "Kothur," they said, almost in unison. That was the recommendation, and it stuck with me. I walked by the place once. The exterior didn't scream "hidden gem." Thought about ordering delivery a few times but never followed through. Life, you know? Today, I finally went. From the outside, still nothing to write home about. But walk in, and it's a different story. Clean, cozy, and exactly the kind of no-fuss Indian spot you'd expect to stumble upon in the heart of a big city. The food? Solid. Spices landed right. Everything was warm, comforting, and satisfying. It's not trying to reinvent Indian cuisine--it's just doing it well. If you ever find yourself sniffing the air near a phone shop and wondering what that divine smell is--it might just be Kothur. TL;DR Not flashy. Surprisingly good. Smelled it before I tasted it. Worth it.

I love indian food so I was excited to try the Goat Xacutti as it's something new but it ended up tasting exactly like the Chicken Tikka. And the Chicken Tikka didn't taste like what Chicken Tikka usually tastes like. They both tasted like and amalgamation of every curry all mixed together. It was flavorful, but there was no distinct flavor. The Bhel Puri was yummy, but they served us wayyyy too much for only a party of 2. The garlic naan was fine. I also ordered the sweet lassi, which was tasty. The seating was fine and they had a coat rack which was nice. It's open late (till 11pm) which is convenient and why I might come here again, but otherwise the food did not stand out to me at all.

Unfortunately, lots of places in Toronto who make promises of serving biryani teleport you to hell. My friends and family are lifelong fans of biryani. Of all the places Biryaniwalla is highly recommended and I have usually had it at get-togethers. This time though I decided to visit the place and order a take out personally. Located a few meters away from Bathurst station , the restaurant stands amongst other Asian eataries. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Ankita at the reception. We asked her for recommendations and she patiently explained us the options and advised 2 biryanis based on our spice tolerance and preferences. Taking her advice, we ordered: - Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket with double Masala for $43 ($39.99 for Biryani and Double masala pay $2.99 extra). - Palnadu Chicken Biryani ( $18.99) Ambience wise, the place is pretty chill with neatly lined tables for family and the huge Biryaniwalla Logo adorning the big wall. There was also a spin the wheel game, which you can play if you place a google review. While we waited for our order, the shop was quite busy with mobile food delivery orders. After about 10 minutes, we got our order and took it home. Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket: This is possibly their bestselling biryani. And I have to confess, I have tried it before and I absolutely love it. It is a delicious biryani , with nice moist chicken pieces, cashews and which is not too overpowering with spices. We ordered double masala because my better half likes it that way. The quantity for bucket was huge and can easily satify 3-4 people. Chicken Palnadu Biryani: Compared to Kaju Ghee Roast, this one is more tangy and a bit on the spicier side. It is a slight Achari taste and it was surprisingly delicious. Also, you get Salan (spicy-tangy gravy) and Raita (yoghurt mixture) with the biryanis, and they go quite well with the biryani. However, i somehow still felt the biryanis lack that authentic taste of biryani that you get in India and Pakistan. Real authentic biryanis have the inherent smoky flavor which comes from coal which is used to cook biryani and to give Biryani the dum ( pots are sealed and cooked over slow heat with coal - at bottom and at top.) Also missed that Birista that usually accompany Biryani layers. That being said, these are quite good biryanis. To foodies: Possibly the best biryani restaurant is toronto, that gets it as close to the authentic taste. The biryanis are delicious and they have lot of other options including seafood biryani. The quantities are huge and you and your loved ones will truly enjoy To management: Great biryanis. Great service by Ankita. Would love if you guys can sprinkle some birista ( fried onions) at the top layer or provide it on the side. Also it would be great if you can provide some incentive for customers who order directly from store. I knew you once had 10%.off , which when I asked was told it's still on but you need the offer card. I was a bit let down by that because at the end, it's just a formality. Also spin the wheel if you place a google review is a cheap tactic to get reviews. Just do it as a fun activity guys. Creates goodwill. As a brand strategist , I always recommend customer experience over a few dollars Overall this is a great place for biryanis. I definitely recommend it.
