The Glen Club lived up to all expectations. I came to this club for a wedding so we really got to experience all of what the Glen Club had to offer. From the food to the room to the groom. The first thing that stood out was the service. The entire staff was friendly and helpful when we were checking in. We showed up a little early and the gentleman at the front made some calls and we were able to get into the room. Started off on the right foot. The room was cool. Clean. Well maintained but nothing extra. The photos are accurate. The restaurant/bar has a great breakfast menu. We got a breakfast burrito and it was delicious with hot and crispy potatoes. The best part about the Glen Club is the golfing option. We didnt get onto the course but my party got onto the range and hit some balls. The view of the golf course while you are in the back of the club is amazing. Especially during sunset. Overall: Great club read more

The course was nice and well-kept but the service was horrendous. We walked in the afternoon as a foursome and ON THE FIRST hole told to "speed up play." At that point we decided to play best-ball scramble style. And realized that there were solo players behind us in carts. We let them play through and didn't see a single person until the final hole. During the time when there was nobody in front of us or behind us we were approached 3 more times by the marshal telling us that "people were calling the clubhouse and we needed to speed up." We then couldn't even tee off of another hole because one of the residents decided to have a prom party on the tee box and had hundreds of high schoolers take pictures on the tee box. Until the service gets better I cannot recommend this course. You would be better off playing at just about any other north side course or even a true muni. At greens prices over $200, it just doesn't make sense to have service like this. read more

Our dinner experience at The Grill at The Glen Club was extremely disappointing. Everything about the food was substandard. We ordered "handheld" specialty hamburgers and steak sandwiches with side salad and extra order of fries. The salad what appeared to be bagged salad without additional toppings. The hamburger was bland. The bun was stale. The steak sandwich came a minuscule amount of meat yet an exorbitant amount of processed cheese. The food presentation was mundane; it was simply a dressed handheld on a plate without garnish. In addition, the fries came straight from a bag. Although our server was friendly, we waited for over 30 minutes to get our food. Overpriced for the quality of food and service. I recommend sending your dining dollars elsewhere. read more

Would not recommend for your wedding. I had mine here back in 2024 over Christmas. Food was awful. Steaks were overcooked and oversalted, chicken was dry, soup came out cold. They also did not serve the correct sides with the entrees. Everyone got asparagus, which is not what we selected. I, the bride, don't like asparagus. Barely ate any of my meal. Dinner service was wayyyyy too slow, pacing was so off. Last over 2 hours. My parents complained the next morning and they didn't really care. They already got their money... Also, at the end of the night, they told me they would hold all my flowers and bouquet until the morning since we were spending the night there. When I went to get my bouquet the next morning, someone threw it out. It had something very sentimental attached to it from my mom. Overall, do not recommend getting married here. read more

I wanted to have a small dinner party of 15 people for a going away for our head nurse. I reserved 2 tables because they only allow tables of 9. Then I called to ask if the tables could be next to each other. They won't do it!!! They want you to rent a banquet room, This place is non accommodating to the max. They do not care! I changed my reservation to Johnny kitchen and tap. Done in 2 minutes . A yes place!! I will never return to this high flying dump!! read more

Brunch with Santa sounds like an enjoyable family outing on paper, but our actual experience was disappointing. I confirmed our reservation for 5 adults and 2 little ones via email and on the phone, both times saying we would require a high chair. When we were seated, there was no high chair, and it took several minutes for the staff to fumble around and set one up. Adults ate at $39 per person, and the food was lackluster and lukewarm at best. Nothing stood out except the basket of strangely placed pre-packaged white cheddar puffs in front of the lox tray. Yes, there were numerous offerings like eggs benedict, french toast, turkey and risotto, and baked chicken, but I could really only eat a couple bites of each thing because it didn't taste good at all. Kids' options included mac n cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, donuts, assorted fruit, and mini hot dogs. Santa was there, but he apparently wasn't incented enough to look jolly in photos. You do get photo opps with him, but you're your own photographer. What was also strange was how clueless the staff was about the food offerings. More than one person had no idea if the white garnishes on a plate were cream cheese. When my husband asked what kind of pie was on a pkatter, someone else responded "maybe it's cheese". What? Upon serving himself a slice of pie anyway, it looked and tasted like chocolate mousse/cream pie. Also, I didn't receive a bill or copy of the receipt when we wrapped up the meal, which would seem like a no brainer. My credit card was already charged, but as a customer, I would like to be informed of how much you're (over)charging me. It also would've been nice to know that soft drinks were an additional $3 beyond the $39. Overall, the Glen Club venue is nice and classy, but this particular event was disorganized and disappointing food-wise. read more

I'll be honest & state that I doubt anyone would come for the "outstanding culinary experience". Its basically slightly above average bar food. With that tidbit aside I enjoyed my evening here. I'd suggest the restaurant hang some random lighting in the distance to make the igloo experience even more magical but nonetheless Twas an nice experience. On Sundays the igloo rate decreases to $50 & when you add the safety protocols, 2 heaters & a Bluetooth speaker this broke up the monotony of covid quite well. read more

Friendly, attentive and plentiful staff working. Tastefully decorates, clean, spacious atmosphere. Unpretentious, unlike you might expect. Small menu, but I highly recommend. Came here on vacation to experience both the hotel and golf course. The golf course itself is nice and the location was great but everything else is sub par. I called 30 minutes ahead to schedule a tee time just to have the guy in the pro shop give it to a foursome instead last minute and make me wait another 2 hours before I could go out, and no discounts for the inconvenience either. The hotel was ok but a very confusing and poor layout. It was easy to get lost in there and they didn't even have a vending machine. Paid for a balcony room and instead of a nice course view my door looked right at a brick wall. lastly the restaurant staff was rude. one of the girls was even making fun of me and antagonizing me during the meal. paid over $1000 for this trip and wont be coming back. read more

We were there for a memorial for a friend of ours. We were in the ballroom. It was very nice comfortable and clean. it was buffet style. Food looked and tasted good. The staff was very friendly And helpful. They were constantly picking up dirty dishes, filling the water glasses keeping the place clean and organized. Bathroom was very clean. This review is for the igloo experience only. My friend booked this for my bday ($100 for 2 hours). Me, her, and my husband showed up for the lounge experience. When we walked in for our 9pm reservation it was VERY quiet. I understand that because of covid it is basically closed except for the igloos, but i expected something fun. Maybe music or... just something. We literally just walked through a closed building to the patio outside where our igloo was. We were warmly greeted and escorted into our igloo. It was really cool. It was very cozy and warm. There was a chandelier, an electric fireplace, Bluetooth speaker,2 comfy club chairs, a couch, and additional seating blocks. The food menu is.. ehh. Its too pretentious. Everything has a weird "fancy" twist. Think, truffle fries. Anyway, we decided on the tavern platter. Easy small foods for drinking (boneless buffalo wings, fried green beans, and onion rings) When i asked what champagne they had the waiter responded brut or prosecco. Ummm... thats not an appropriate response to that question, especially with a place with such pretentious food. At the least NEVER suggest prosecco when someone asks about champagne. So i got the "brut" which was actually Veuve Clicquot ($95). Everything was fine. The service was good, being able to listen to our own music was good... but something was missing. This experience has HUGE potential. Its just not there yet. So 3 stars for a good experience. Not great or amazing. O.. and cause it was by bday, they brought a mini gooey baked chocolate chip thing with caramel and ice cream on top. I could probably eat that everyday. As far as covid safety goes, i felt completely safe. There was a sign in the igloo that said it had been sanitized before our arrival. A few minutes after we sat down i saw them cleaning and sanitizing the igloo next to us. They aired it out, and had a machine that sprayed sanitizer after everything was wiped down. Masks are worn by staff at all times and masks are required by all if the server has to enter the igloo. Most conversations happened with the server on the outside. This review is for the annual Christmas brunch held here. They have a nice setting for the occasion which we attended for the first time, but it is overpriced at $39 pp (price also excludes soft drinks and juice btw). The brunch spread is plentiful, and they have lots of desserts, but everything was of average store-bought like quality. The coffee was also barely lukewarm. There was no premium service for the premium price either as the staff also didn't set up two requested high chairs and we had to wait around for that with two toddlers and associated baggage. Basically at this price point, it was all a bit on the disappointing side we all agreed. The servers were all apparently hired contract help and none were familiar with the menu items. They did have a pretty extensive kids' breakfast menu table and kids under 4 are free. There was also a Santa and a nice tree present for photo ops, but that and the nice venue were really the only big positives for the outing. Even the Santa himself turned out to be a scrooge and didn't smile or even look at the camera in numerous shots, and I think his intent was to do what he could to ruin the holiday shots! Again, the rating comes down to the value. At $25 pp, it's probably a great outing, but not at $39 pp. ps - We learned the Bears had their 610 person team holiday party here just on Friday Dec 14, and that tells you this place can be a top-notch competitive venue with all the Chicagoland competition available for the bidding. read more

Always a great meal here. Love this place especially in the summer months overlooking the golf course. This time a birthday lunch with my Mother. I had the Harvest Salad. Which is served with spinach, feta, cranberries and candied walnuts. I also added grilled chicken. But salmon and shrimp are also an option. One of the can't miss at this place is the homemade crust kettle chips served with dip as a complimentary item upon being seated. Can I just say "addicting"? I dare u to eat just a few. The service and staff are friendly. The place is clean and quiet. This is a nice place for ladies who lunch as well as you'll see plenty of those coming off the course after a round of 18. This place also has a full service bar should u want to grab a cocktail and hang out at there. I have been here a number of times and always a pleasure to come back. I know they also have weekly specials as my mother goes with her friends. This is a great little place. read more

My review is for the restaurant only. I've been here a few times for lunch and have had several items on the menu. The food is average at best. Nice menu with a selection of typical bar appetizers, salads, burgers and a half dozen entrees. Nothing stands out but nothing is horribly bad either.The main attraction here is the bar and dining room with the views of the lovely golf course. Also the service is excellent. I like the draft beer selection and they use Zing Zang for their bloody marys, one of my favs. Valet parking is usually available but wasn't on my last visit. read more

Played with a friend who knows a member. Practice facilities are a little below average for a private club. Clubhouse is beautiful. And the bathrooms..... I digress. Priced about right for a guest. Course was in beautiful shape. Greens are real fast. Tall fescue borders many fairways. You can lose a lot of balls that trickle 5 feet into this stuff. Holes are varied and interesting. Big hitters can drive through a couple fairways so make sure you ask the member on each hole about it. Weather is perfect that day with little wind. Nobody in front of us combined to make the experience great. Can't wait to go back. read more

Review is for restaurant only. We were here for a day long meeting, and the amenities and service were fine for the meeting room itself. The restaurant here is about what you would expect at a typical golf club. The food wasn't great. It wasn't terrible, but it just didn't taste right. The grilled salmon was dry, the rice was sticky, the fried shrimp was sweet, the salad lacked dressing. Even the soup had a little too much salt. It's one of those situations where if I'm already there I probably wouldn't step out to eat, but I'm not going to be very thrilled with my meal. read more

A delicious Mother's Brunch with a gorgeous view of the golf course, beautifully-arranged tables, and courteous staff. The club is immaculate and tastefully decorated. The one small downside was that the staff was a bit slow to have the buffet utensils ready; we wandered around aimlessly for a while, not able to serve ourselves. read more

This review is strictly for the food & food service staff at a banquet affair that I attended recently. Three different entrées, a meat, a fish and a chicken. The beef tenderloin was fair at best, the chicken was tasteless and the Tilapia was unedible. The cook must have known this fish was rotten when he/she was preparing it. Temperature was also a problem, room temperature food is not at all appealing. Soup and salad were pretty good. Not enough help for a sixty- seventy person banquet, didn't have salt and pepper on the tables when we started eating. If I was footing the bill, I would have been pissed for sure read more

This was not a good experience! So far I t's been 55 minutes. We can't really review the food because we haven't gotten it yet. We were seated and then ignored while people around us were served. I'll give you more information if we get any food. Okay our food showed up. My burger was cold and had no cheese on it even though my waitress asked if cheddar was ok. My wife got tomatoes on her salad even though she said "no tomatoes." I told the person who brought the food that it was 55 minutes and the burger had no cheese. I usually stay on Michigan ave. but world series prices took over the hotels. decided to stay a bit out of town and uber it to the game. note. this place doesn't show up well on uber maps to the driver. I had to contact him where we were. also on google maps it takes you to the shopping center next door. just keep your eyes open for the little sign out front. one of those "you gotta know it's there or you don't know it's there" kinda places !!!!! wow. nice. quaint. helpful. grounds well kept. rooms clean large. will stay here again !! read more

This review is only for the restaurant at the Glen Club. I ate here for dinner recently with my boss, who was staying at the hotel. The restaurant was populated with golfers (no surprise there) and looked like it was in a country club (also no surprise). Despite the fact that it wasn't very crowded, it took quite a while for us to get seated. The host or hostess was nowhere to be found, so someone who appeared to be a server eventually seated us. They brought a generous serving of bread, which we were grateful to get since we were starving. I ordered the penne with chicken, which came with a choice of soup or salad. I opted for the salad, which was pretty tasty and fairly large. The main dish was rather disappointing, however. Despite the fact that it was loaded with garlic, it was still somehow bland. You certainly get your money's worth, though. The portion sizes are easily enough for two meals. Overall, I feel like this is an average restaurant. If you're staying here or happen to be nearby, it's a satisfactory choice, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. read more
