Not a good hotel. The room smells of heavy cigarettes but at least there's a gym and it's in downtown. There is also a hotel bar but they close at 11. The television is also useless since it only has a screensaver that says Marriott. The AC works but I don't think they changed the air filter.

A very nice meeting place. Good for 200 person meetings/forums/events. Food is and accommodations are outstanding.

I attended the Southeast Rail Forum #SRF2025 at the Sheraton. Because I live in Raleigh, did not have a room. The event was on a Tuesday and Wednesday. The Oak Forrest Ballroom is excellent. Buffets were set up for breakfast and lunch in the Esplanade in front of the ballroom. There are meeting rooms in the Hanover (Truist) Building which is connected to the Oak Forrest Ballroom and Esplanade via a very cool skybridge. Jimmy V's Ostria & Bar is on the lobby floor. If your planning an event in Downtown Raleigh--this is the place.

I chose the Sheraton hotel in Downtown Raleigh to stay the night before my jury duty service to avoid leaving super early and avoid the morning traffic. I had stayed in this hotel about 20 years before before I moved to the area so was familiar enough with it and it was close enough to walk to the Justice Center. The parking garage is across the street and the hotel and was $22 for the day. The hotel site had said it was $12 a day and the garage had a sign to bring your ticket to the hotel. But I was told they no longer have anything to do with the parking garage as of 10 days ago. If I had known, I would have parked in another garage or lot. Check in was otherwise friendly and helpful. I was not given a welcome gift. I was put on the 17th floor which is the Club Level. I was impressed by the room with all the outlets, some were even in the couch. They had the plank flooring and I could tell it was updated at some point. The bathroom appeared clean and had nice amenities. I also liked that the key card was needed to reach floors 5-17. The ceiling had evidence of water leaks. Then after being in the room for a little bit I heard the noise. At first I thought it was outside and maybe construction or from the event. But it didn't stop when it got dark so it wasn't that. It would go for a bit then stop and start up again. It sounded like a jack hammer. I'm not sure if it was from the AC units or a generator on the roof or something with the vents or pipes. It may have even been the elevator. I'm not sure what it was but it kept me up and I didn't get much if any sleep. The plumbing does not seem to have been upgraded as it took multiple times to get the toilet to flush. I had access to the lounge which was much smaller than I expected with maybe 6 tables and a couch. The lounge was open in the evening and for breakfast. The staff both times were friendly. The morning staff even called to have someone check on the room noise. I have no idea if they looked into it though. Alcohol was available in the evening as well as other beverages and some snacks. They had quiche; muffins; cheese, crackers, fruit and veggies. Breakfast was scramble eggs; bacon; sausage; potatoes; fruit; oatmeal and beverages. Thankfully I did not need to stay another night. I would have moved to another Marriott property if I did.

Rooms are super clean. The hotel decor is updated and modern. The price is reasonable per night. Parking is 22.00 a day. This is the reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Great hotel! Great customer service! I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. They have a nice little lounge on the top floor for their elite members. There I met Lamoud who was amazing! He was welcoming and very friendly. We had a beer and some small bites which you can see in my picture. We also had an amazing experience with Jamel at the front desk. Very professional and caring. Both Lamoud and Jamel took our trip to the next level and made our stay the best!

Pretty nice hotel which is convenient to a lot of spaces in the downtown Raleigh area. Whiskey Bar to the South, Mezcal Bar to the North, Beer to the East and Beer to the West. Everything you need, right? The room was a tad small but I've been in smaller. The bathroom was big though so that was a plus. Lighting in the room was a challenge but lots of USB ports made charging all of me peripherals easy. The "Desk" was sticky AF and I don't know why, maybe overspray of cleaner (at least that's what I told myself). The TV was HUGE for the room which was nice. The 3 elevators were S L O W and I spent a lot of time waiting to go up and down. And when it's crowded and your high, you stop at almost every floor on the way up and when you come down. The staff was super friendly. which took it up to 4 stars from the 3 I wanted to give it. It could use some TLC, but it's a great spot and comfortable and safe feeling! I'd stay here again!

Stayed here for a conference and would not recommend. The hotel is super dated - the 90s called and they want their decor and styling back. The bathroom was so small, I had to shut the door to sit on the toilet! Water pressure wasn't great either. The walls are paper thin. I could hear everything my neighbors said/did. Super annoying. TV didn't work in my room. It would turn on for 10 seconds and shut off. Stay at the Marriott next door - looks and feels much nicer

I was unlucky enough to be put in room 1330 and the hotel was sold out for the night. Dirty, grimy, trash from the previous guests, paint peeling off the ceiling, wallpaper peeling from the ceiling, cracked/broken tile in the bathtub and a bent and busted up heat register/vent. The bed was hard as a rock. I told the desk clerk about the room and she just said, there's nothing I can do for you. My response was - I don't really want you to do anything for me, your staff needs to be aware of how poor the condition of this room is. IMHO, this was Ritz Carlton prices for Motel 6 accommodations.

    ROACHES!!

Planning couldn't have been easier- our coordinator was very easy to reach and always quick with an answer with any questions we had. The venue is charming and the roof top view is stunning. We chose to have a "Before They Say I Do BBQ" and the deck provided a nice space to set up stations for our caterer. The list of vendors provided by Empire Eats made providing linens and any items needed easy to set up. The only suggestions we would offer is know in advance that this is the top floor of The Stockroom. If there are 2 events scheduled, you'll be sharing the only elevator with the other venue. Loading and unloading prior and after the event can be a bit tricky. There is no designated area loading zone. Be sure to ask in advance for a cart and it will be provided. Also, if you're having a summer event, know that it can be very hot. When the door to the deck is open, it compromises the A/C and it can be a tad bit warm.

The extra secret, private room is located upstairs in The Big Easy, down a back hallway through an ominous door labeled "staff only". The small space includes a New Orleans voodoo theme complete with voodoo dolls and bare breasted fortune tellers (in photos). Your party is invited to enjoy the velvet couches and hairs artfully placed around the room and has access to a private bar (and bartender). I love the back wall, with photo windows viewing Salisbury Street and a huge wooden bench seat. Rebecca and her husband Steve, the owners of The Big Easy, created this space to throw a rocking New Years Eve party, and they're inviting locals to use it during the year. Rebecca hired a fortune teller for our VIP night, but options are practically unlimited for what you want to bring in (bachelorette party strippers?!) The room is pricy to rent, but the intention is to get in a "classier" group of people that will keep the space up (however, there's definitely room for a dance party in the room, think old Bee Hive tightness). The best part: that VIP feeling as you are personally led up to the room by a manager, it was VERY speakeasy and secretive!

Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.
