They are great guys who don't cheat you, tell you exactly what is wrong and how they can fix it and do so at a very reasonable price. Diagnosed my daughter's car as having a broken sway bar link and quoted over $300 to repair. It needed a ,50 nut. Ridiculous.

I was mislead into believing that their diagnosis and recommendation for repairs would solve issue. Upon notification that my vehicle was ready the issue resurfaced within 15 minutes of driving. Returned to this shop only to have them require another large payment for further repairs. This time the issue resurfaced within 24 hrs. Nearly $1200.0 spent with zero improvement. Terrible! No communication! They have been giving us the run around on where a part is for a warranty issue for over a month now. Our car runs worse no than it did before we took in and they took it apart to diagnose it. It's stuck in 4wheel drive and makes a horrible noise when we try to put it in 2wheel drive. Took my 98 4runner in for an alignment, after replacing the suspension, and steering. Friendly enough, but thats about it. Got the vehicle back and the steering wheel would not center after a turn. Meaning, I had to turn the wheel back to center. Very dangerous in a lifted vehicle. I figured it was my doing, with the replacement parts. Spent weeks checking stuff. Finally after a friends recommendation, took it to Firestone at Belmar. I am not all that sure that Sheridan did anything. This is what Firestone found. before measurements: Camber .1 .2 Caster ..4 .6 Toe .93 .53 Total toe 1.46 Steer ahead .20 After: Camber .2 -.1 Caster 1.8 1.2 Toe .10 .10 Total Toe .20 Steer ahead 0.0 And guess what? It steers right now. Not at all impressed by the work that Sheridan did or did not do. All the numbers may not mean much to most. But the before measurements are all WAY out of spec. Sad. Save your money, and go to a real shop. read more

The next day, after failing 2 inspections, they told me exactly what it needed to pass. They fixed the issues AND...even took it to emissions for me and it passed. What a treat! Bottom line, I would have my mother take her car to Sheridan Auto Tech and would feel she would be in good hands. Let me tell you why. I had a check engine light on, a major loss of power, and the car was not downshifting. I was told by others that I needed upstream sensors, a new PCM (computer), and a new transmission. I was looking at about $5,000 in repairs, and I started looking at dumping the car and buying another one. But before doing that, I went on the Internet to search for a service center who really knew car repair and who I could trust. After spending time, I settled on Sheridan Auto Tech and another one I won't name. Both were BBB certified and had no complaints. I went to Sheridan Auto Tech first because they were a "family-owned business since 1986." I found that to be of value since I think a family-owned business would really want to be trustworthy and provide good service. I met the owner, Kevin, and explained that I do not trust dealers and that I had previously had bad experiences with people not knowing cars or wanting to overcharge me. I agreed to let him do a diagnostic for $70, and here's what I liked. Unlike most other service centers, if I had the repairs done there, the $70 would be deducted from the bill. Other service centers would make the diagnostic an additional line item on the bill, and I never liked that. I could see it if I get the diagnostic then repair the car myself or take it elsewhere. But not if the car repairs are being done where I get the diagnostic. After the diagnostic, Kevin took me to where my car was raised and showed and explained things to me. He told me nothing was wrong with my computer, and he didn't see anything wrong with my transmission. The loss of power was due to a catalytic converter problem. But on my car there were 3 catalytic converters, and he said they'd have to determine exactly what the extent was after they got in there. But he gave me a "worst case scenario" estimate. Also, one of my engine mounts was cracked, and he recommended that be replaced as once they get engine power back up, there would be more engine vibration with normal power restored. They would need the car for a day and because it was an extensive job and because I lived in the area, they would shuttle me home and would pick me up when the car was fixed. So, I set the appointment. The day of the repairs, I was taken home. They called that evening when the work was done, and I asked if they could pick me up the next morning because I had started watching an NBA playoff game. No problem. The next morning, I was picked up in my car. That was good because I'd get to drive it before I wrote the check! I put the car on the highway, and was so pleased. It had power as it did the day I picked it up from the dealer! The check engine light was off too. (The guy who picked me up told me the light was on because there was a short in the heat circuit leading to the harness of one of the upstream sensors. Hence the upstream sensor code, but the upstream sensors did not need replacing as someone else told me.) When we got to the shop, I was headed to see Kevin, when the mechanic asked me to come over to his bay. On the table, he had laid out 2 catalytic converters they replaced, the cracked engine mount, and the heat circuit they replaced. He took a flashlight and showed me damage to the converters, showed me the crack in the mount, and showed me the heat circuit. (They would have tried to fix the heat circuit but the wires were frayed from excessive engine vibration due to the cracked mount, so they replaced the circuit. But other places would have replaced the entire harness that held the circuit, which would have cost me more.) Kevin went over the bill in detail with me. I had no problem at all with the charges. Kevin is also an NBA fan, so we talked a little NBA, I paid the bill, and left. Wait. There's more! A couple days later, I had a separate and unrelated problem. It was like my car was stuck in cruise control. I was not too far from the shop but was scared to drive it. I called Kevin, described the issue, and he told me to sit tight. He showed up with a mechanic. The mechanic popped off a plastic housing, revealing my cruise control cable. The little plastic piece that guided the cable had dislodged and was preventing the cable from being released. They temporarily fixed it so that I could get it to the shop. The mechanic glued it so that I could drive over the weekend (this happened on a Friday after 5pm), and they would order the part Monday morning. I got the car in after they got the part, and they fixed it in about 30 minutes. Oh, Kevin had told me on Friday it would be about $100 to $110. The bill was $99 and change. I feel good about my experiences with Sheridan Auto Tech, and I would recommend them if you want someone who knows cars and is trustworthy. read more

I asked for them to do an alignment and they didn't even do it. A good business listens to their customers. When the tire is noticeably cambered to the naked eye, and you don't fix that. I call that pathetic. read more

Love these guys! I've had a few major repairs done on my subaru at Sheridan, the work has been great. Not that I know anything about cars, but I know every time they take my car in with no hassles, they do the repairs very quickly, let me know if I need more work....or not, and send me on my way with a reminder that if anything doesn't seem corrected to give them a call right away, which I've never had to do. I had the steering go out recently, I got it towed to the shop around 4 p.m., and Chris had his guys fix it and it was good to go the next day, for example. I trust what they tell me, and I love that I don't have to worry if I'm going to be price gouged, or get bad work. Hands down the best repair shop I've ever used, won't go anywhere else. Sheridan Auto Tech - Lakewood, Co. - Subject: Air Conditioning I just wanted to thank Chris the service writer for walking me through this very complex and difficult repair. The technician, Cesar, showed great talent in being able to fix the problem in a timely and professional manner. First, my Dodge Ram 3500 needed an air conditioning compressor replaced. This being done no problem except the system would not blow cool air on the passenger side. Yikes you say! Turns out with expert troubleshooting they found the A/C blend door binding inside the transition box and blend door motor actuator weak due to the binding. Of course this is very labor intensive as the entire lower dash panels must be removed for access. Everything back together and a freeway test drive gives me a 40 degree temp differential at the vents on a 82 degree day. I'm very happy with this as a trip to Arizona is planned in the very near future. Hats off guys and btw you beat the dealer cost too. TK-Lakewood read more
