I made an appointment to get an oil change and got my vehicle to the shop by 8AM. Called about 12:30 to see what the status was and was told it was still in queue. Ok, 4 and half hours seems a tad bit long for an oil change but I understand it can get busy. 3PM rolls around and it's coming up on school pick up time. Call again and is told.. it's in queue. Let them know I need my vehicle back for school pickup. Get there 10 minutes later my vehicle hasn't moved from where I parked it at 8. Matt gives me my keys, not an I'm sorry, hey we got backed up, apologize for the wait.. Just here's your keys. He wasn't rude or snarky, but they obviously don't care or respect appointments or customers time. It's not our first time going there, but it will certainly be our last. It's hard to find honest trustworthy mechanics and in my experience Toy Automotive is sure as hell not one of them. read more

I'm very disappointed in Toy Automotive. I dropped my 2005 Toyota 4Runner off to inspect a fluid leak. The Service Advisor Quinn called to inform me 7 things that needed to be fixed on my 4runner amounting to $6900. And that everything is rusted out and the fuel tank is about to fall off! He said he could get me into a Sequoia if I didn't want to spend so much money on repairs on my 4Runner! Is this a mechanic or a used car lot? Did they just want my low mileage Toyota? I did not have them do any work on my 4Runner and left. I found a trustworthy mechanic and just 2 of those 7 items Toy Automotive mentioned really needed to be fixed. Get a second opinion before going here. Without being too negative, that's all I can advise the unsuspecting shopper. I have had two very poor experiences with the new regime. As a former advocate for them, Scott and Beth were great people to work with, but it seems that the new generation looks at things differently. I recently brought my daughters Highlander in because I heard an exhaust leak. the service "Adviser" quoted me $1,200.00 to repair it because the clamp was rusted and they would have to cut it off ( which would take 5 min.!)....I brought it to another shop, and they charged me $25.00 for the same repair!!!!..On another O2 sensor issue on the same car, they also tried to gouge me. I took it to Groove Toyota, they diagnosed the issue for 95 bucks and replaced a breather valve for $450.00....Not exactly cheap, but the problem is taken care of correctly at a better price. I'm a former customer for sure! I'm all for making a profit, but integrity is equally as important! read more

We had some work done on our 20 year old Subaru which resulted in engine oil leaks after they were done. They resisted to take responsibility but then took the car back to tighten things up. First things first, I am a mechanic and have a very hard time trusting automotive shops but I had a repair and I didn't have a place to work with to do it myself so I brought it in to Toy Automotive. I have a very specific Toyota that is not a regular vehicle. They looked at the vehicle and found that there was no issue with what I was worried about. I know they spent time and effort looking into it, but even still, they did not charge me. This is an honest place with good people who actually care about their customers. I was happy to hear my vehicle didn't need anything but shocked that they didn't charge me. I will definitely spreading their name as they have won me over. read more

What I can say confidently is that the owner cares about his shop and stands behind his work. Their rates are extremely competitive and they have a long history of working with Toyotas. I used Toy Auto for almost a year and had several services done. Things didn't always work out perfectly and there were some breakdowns in communication, but they saw every service through to the conclusion and worked with me along the way. In fairness, I am a bit obsessive about my 4Runner. I never felt pressured and their ears were always open for my questions. Mistakes happen (I make more than my share) but Scott definitely stepped in to set things right. Given all the happy customers on here, I'd bet my 3 star remains an anomaly for a long time. read more

Great work for a second time very professional work on my Toyota Tacoma great customer service as well with best prices . First time for electrical work blown fuses and fried electrical . Second time for a clock spring my horn didn't work but it does now after they replaced it . Took them shorter time than I thought a hour later it was done after I dropped it off they called and I was surprised it was done . It was getting pretty dangerous driving around Co. without a working horn with all the traffic now days and the asshole drivers don't care about anything. I strongly do NOT recommend Toy Automotive. I had a coupon to get my brakes done, I knew I had a rotor issue as I could feel it stopping downhill in the mountains. They did an oil change and brake inspection, said in writing that my front brakes were good and that my back pads needs replaced and rotor needed resurfacing. Received my car back, same issue. I should mention that they took my car on at least a 20 minute test drive as I was waiting that long, who knows how long it was out before I got there. They did not bring the car back until after the office closed. I called a couple days later and told them the brake problem was not fixed. I took my car back in and they wanted to charge me an unreasonable amount and charge me for a very old loaner when it was their fault I was back. They told me I had to completely replace the front rotors. If they actually completed the inspection the first time they would have seen that. Now here it is, time for my next oil change and I took it to the dealership. Of course they tell me, you need new brake pads. Not 7k miles later. Toy Automotive. Shame on you! read more

I told them I knew my front brakes were an issue. they told me the front brakes were fine and they charged me for rear pads and resurface rotors. not true! took my car back as my brakes were still vibrating. they said they needed to replace the front rotors. I paid to have that done and still the brakes were screeching. called and they were incredibly rude yelling and screaming. the owner called me and asked me to bring car back in so they could fix the brake pads. third time. now at Lexus as there is a terrible burning smell. avoid this place they cannot do something as simple as brakes in 3 visits. read more

Let me start off by saying that I never go to independent places, I've always gone to Toyota dealerships to fix my 99 camry. Now I'll never go anywhere else. What the dealership told me was a problem not worth fixing and just buying a new car turned into Toy Automotive properly addressing it and fixing it for thousands of dollars less! All the workers there were honest, trustworthy and communicated with me effectively. However after leaving the shop I noticed a strange sound in my car even though I was told everything looked great from my inspection. I went back and they found the problem and acknowledged their mistake and made it clear to me how sorry they were and promised it'd be taken care of. Well they definitely delivered because they immediately got to work on my car right then and there at no cost. Now my car is running great and I expect it to last me a very long time. My car was leaking oil so badly on 470, that I had to pull over! They were the closest auto repair, so I drove very slowly there to see if they could help me. The owner's sons and all the mechnics were there to greet me and were amazing!! They were able to calm me down, assure me that my engine was not going to blow up, and fix the problem in less than 10 mins!! Very reasonably priced as well! They even washed the oil off my car! I'm new to Colorado from NC, so trusting the other reviewers on this page, I came to Toy Auto to get my 4Runner's oil/brakes/etc done. The service was great! Definitely a family business (dogs conked out behind the desk), and they value each customer. For example, there were a couple discrepancies between what was on the website, and what was actually done to my car / what I paid for. I came in with the details, hoping for a good resolution. I asked for the owner, Scott, and within 10 minutes got a reasonable "meet in the middle" compromise, with Scott promising he'd get the website fixed ASAP. I put off writing a review last Friday, until I could see whether or not the site was updated (was it just a cover up because I noticed a mistake, or really an honest mistake?) To my surprise, I got a voicemail from Scott this morning, to let me know the website was fixed. I'd expected the site to be fixed, but hadn't expected any kind of personal follow-up. From talking to Scott/Beth / experiencing their proactive customer service, to the quality work that was done on my 4Runner, I definitely recommend trying out Toy Auto. We took in our Sienna minivan for a 90,000 mile check up. Two days after we got it back from the shop, the van was just completely dead in the driveway. I didn't think that was probably a coincidence, so I called the shop at 5:30 p.m. By 5:45 p.m, there were 2 technicians in my driveway looking to find the problem, which they did in about 2 minutes.
